gwales: the point is not about the individual rather policy! Gej believes in fighting corruption through bringing in ideas and policies that will make it impossible for corrupt people to operate! Gmb believes only by jailing corrupt people without eliminating the root cause, now which one is better on the long run? 2 Likes |

Under Buhari's plan you can loot 1 trillion Naira on 28th May 2015 and go free but you can pinch 1 million Naira on 1st June 2015 and be jailed for it because of his planned amnesty How is this a sensible way to run the affairs of Government? Government is a continuum 3 Likes |

gwales: state pardon is constitutional! Gej just acted on it, but if you are not comfortable with state pardon then canvas for its amendment, may be through the senator that is representing you. 1 Like |

xrisdon: We have EFCC and ICPC laws. They seem only to prosecute and convict yahoo yahoo boys. Sadly, this administration has not successfully executed EFCC and ICPC law on any notable corrupt personality in country. |

vanndubi: hmmm, only if you know how these things work! EFCC/ ICPC can not convict someone, the judges does! for instant, EFCC may be aware that someone is truely guilty of an offence, but if they don't have much evidence to prove it in court, they are on a long thing. 4 Likes |

Who is not corrupt in these country? Everyone is corrupt in one way of the other. Though we may not have reach the level of embezzlement of national cake as regards to our leaders. If we all agree that buhari Opinion should be adopt and embrace then everyone should be ready to jail including OGA BUHARI. But by going through Gej system i think it will yield positive result but may take time in eradicate it completely. More so corruption is another psychology disorders of human behavior, and should be treated psychotherapy. As individual Nigerian we need to start organizing town hall meeting that has to do with the negative effect of corruption in our society. Our media should start putting on some various program that deal with anti-corruption in our society. There should customization of shirt, protest against corruption, primary and secondary orientation on effect of corruption and punishments that follow if caught in act. Nigerian should not only agitating, criticising but seriously take an action that we curbs and bring corruption to Ezoro level. Enough of all this propaganda going on in our media outlet which had no value to our daily life. Our media should start channel their muscle on anti-corrupting program rather than promoting hatred amongst Nigerian. 2 Likes |

xrisdon: When I say" they", I'm referring to a bigger system not just to EFCC or ICPC as a body. I keep mentioning EFCC and ICPC laws. That bigger system is the Nigeria government, headed by the executive arm. As the main" paymaster", the executive arm dictates how those judges function. We see and hear all manner of ridiculous judgements. Plea bargain: steal billions, return thousands and keep &enjoy the rest.meanwhile, steal a phone and be sentenced to 50 years in prison. Hope you know the cases I'm referring to? |

How can you fight against something that you don't believe it exists? "Stealing is not Corruption", How much did Nwobodo stole? The money that was not enough to buy Peugeot car", "Corruption is not our problem" "Corruption is being exaggerated "."I won't fight corruption by sending people to prison". I wonder where he will send them. Do you have any idea about where he will send them? 1 Like |

Please for God's sake, when will people stop saying nonsense. GEJ cannot fight corruption because he is corruption personified. Even a blind man can see that GEJ cannot fight corruption and will not fight corruption Rather than fight corruption GEJ is promoting corruption to unprecedented levels. Rather than build institutions, GEJ is destroying institutions. Few days ago, this government made it known that the civil defence corps and navy will be disengaged from guiding the pipelines; another set of multi billion naira contacts is under the way for Tompolo, Asari Dokunbo, and this time also including Gani Adams and Faseun. Now, you find our generals in the army answering yes sir to militants and glorifies touts. Is that how to build institutions? The EFFC has become comatose? A governor, Ayo Fayose of Ekiti has been ruling a state and making laws with only seven members of of twenty-six of the state assembly. He has permanently chased the nineteen other members away from the state assembly with the help of state security agency. This is unprecedented in the history of Nigeria. Do how evil and dangerous this precedence is? The very foundation of our political life and civility, the Nigerian constitution is been blatantly and utterly contradicted and disregarded with no consequences whatsoever. Do you know that if paraventure, GEJ is relected, Fayose will rule for four years with only seven legislators out twenty-six? Did I hear you say again that GEHrig is building institutions? That's a big lie. GEJ IS A DESTROYER OF INSTITUTIONS. HE IS THE WORST THING THAT EVER HAPPENED TO OUR POLITY. GEJ IS A VIRUS THAT URGENTLY NEEDS TO BE FLUSHED OUT OF THE NIGERIAN SYSYEM. 4 Likes |

xrisdon: Who approves the appointment of judges? Do judges have any say in national budget like the legislative arm has Who determines the salaries and allowances of judgesRemember, he who pays the piper calls the tune. This is an extract from Wikipedia on the structure and organisation of Supreme court of Nigeria: "The Supreme Court is composed of the Chief Justice of Nigeria and such number of justice not more than 21, "appointed" by the President on the "recommendation" of the National Judicial Council and subject to "confirmation" by the Senate". You see how dependent judiciary is? That your" separation of power" exist only in secondary school government textbooks. 4 Likes |

This opinion doesntmake sense. Corruption cannot be killed. Its a tendency that can exist in every part of the world. What we need is strong institutions to curtail it. How has GEJ fought corruption so far? a man who himself is massively corrupt. And about jails, if you don't think thieves should be jailed, sorry to say but you're extremely gullible. |
