@Lesgupniger, how would someone know or test the fertility of a soil? Are there local methods of doing that?

Soil test analysis can be done to know whether the soil is good for farming a particular crop or you can use the physical features of the soil such as colour texture, how well drained the soil is e.t.c but this require experience.
Mere sampling of a particular field,I can tell whether it will be good for plantain or not.

When are you starting your farm?
Re: A Must Read For Plantain Farmers And Intending Farmers by AreaFada2: 12:57am On Apr 04, 2015
I'm about starting one in South South. Although, I actually wanted a piece of the action in your area, especially using this hybrid plantain but logistics/distance & others proved a problem.

And I think it's rather late to join your side now.

Thanks for the encouragement. Please tell me the cost involved per acre of plantain if you were to manage it from A to Z for someone faraway, including marketing/sale. What would be your compensation/commission?

About 420k/acre from land acquisition to harvesting,
I will set it up,manage it,sell it and collect 20% after-sale profit.

Ok do you have a thread that already breaks down the above procedure? So you don't keep repeating it here.
Because I like to know about profitability in the first year, whether the cost can be paid in instalments, etc.

Though I remember World1's thread on plantain village with 650k/acre.

Looking at the process you used and pictures, you called it tissue cultured. To the best of my knowledge, I fully understand the techniques and methods involved in propagation cos I'm opportuned to be trained on it from a leading agric research institution in Africa. But I would like you to make clarifications to the public here, judging by your steps and pictures. Clearly explain:
*The technique and method you used for generating those suckers is called what?
*What is Tissue Culture?
*What is Micropropagation?
*What is Macropropagation?

Lesgupnigeria:
The tissue cultured hybrid suckers ready for planting on the field.
I will be explaining further later on the advantages of using tissue cultured hybrid suckers.

I have seen some of your post on my other threads and i intentionally ignore them as i dont want to engage in e-fight until you quote me here.

I know your history more than you know it but i would not want it to go any further than this...

If truly you have any worthwhile info to share on this forum, why not open your own thread and share it with pictures instead of raping my threads with your sarcastic comments.
I have share mine and people have one or two things to learn from it.

And if i may ask,how many years of practical experience do you even have? because i believe your experience should have shown on the quality of ideas and impact you will have made in this agric section.

It is a huge disappointment if after the knowledge and experience you claimed you have in a leading research institution, you have still.not been.able to generate and give out good ideas that will help numerous nairalanders on this forum? or do you think agribusiness is about staying in one office and posting rubbish...

You would have done yourself a great good if you have not even mention that you were trained from a leading institution.
I have shown mine to nairalanders and people have learn one thing or the other

My advice is for you to open your own thread, show people with pictures and learn instead of posting nonsense on my threads.
