vfactor: You are right I don't rant online for women empowerment. Thank you for acknowledging that. It wasn't do hard wasn't it? No. I have already addressed the question and you don't have to agree with my responses. I will not lose sleep over it! You are the one that is overly emotional and crying like a little biish over a statement you don't like. Try harder! |

dany87:In as much as I'm unwilling to admit it, I must say you're the first person that provide to me what can be termed fact today. But I have a question for you, since you feel females are smarter than males, could you prove a point to me, like provide proves. 1 Like |

The number of men and women is fairly even Borussia, and it is a proven fact that men are usually MUCH stronger than women, and that is why they can beat them up, keep them at home and make them produce a lot of children if they choose to (which they did in the past). When most children died at birth or before the age of five, a society that produced very few children might not survive as opposed to other more prolific societies, and that might have had something to do with the way all more primitive societies evolved. Now that most children survive and there's technology in agriculture, keeping a woman having a ton of children without studying and producing knowledge or industrial products/ teaching, etc. does more harm than good to modern economies, and other countries will be ahead of us if we keep following these traditions. queensmith: I totally agree with you on this. Funny as it may sound I turn off my radio when certain callers call in, cos they just end up spewing trash. (Esp Men). While not all are like that, there are still a few that contribute very intelligently and back up whatever issue they raised with prerequisite facts. queensmith: Well said, Although I have noticed that ladies who have better educational background and grew up in the right environment are more of the inspiring ones. Be it as it may, I think one singular thing we can pull out from this debate is that the environment we live in, our education and exposure we have would determine the kinda things we pick up interest in. Furthermore as a country our educational standards are below par and hardly motivates nor adds any significant value, hence the reason a whole lot hardly engage in intellectual issues. 2 Likes |

You are perfectly entitled to have your own opinion. Neither of us have data to prove/disprove this, even though I disagree, I must say I do not really know the answer. nonjebose: |

MrsChima: MrsChima it shows your husband is intelligent verbally and you perhaps even more so, but like I said earlier to another poster, intelligence is a combination of many things. Most people in top Universities with advanced degrees (especially in maths and physics) are known to lack communication and social skills. I am sure you have met geeks who can't hold a normal convo to save their lives. Will you say they lack wisdom or intelligence (not fair)? P.Dirac, arguably the greatest scientists after A.Eistein was known to suffer from poor communication skills and wit, but yet still discovered the greatest quantum theory of this century. We can all think of people that have poor reasoning and brilliant memories, or fantastic language skills but aren't so hot at reasoning, and so on. Knowledge is a fancy name for the conditioning we have been subjected to. Wisdom is something that you start to have once you realize that it was just conditioning. Intelligence is is a measure of how well you can use your intellect to help yourself deal with the situations that you are confronted with in life. |

dany87:Nope, your assertions are duly wrong, you're toying with my feelings; prolly for me to pity the females with my lugubrious mien by stating that and it is a proven fact that men are usually MUCH stronger than women, and that is why they can beat them up, keep them at home and make them produce a lot of children if they choose to (which they did in the past).- this statement is a mere shearing of fallaciloquence and doesn't in anyway correlate to the fact that men are smarter. If a lady chooses not to marry and pursue her career instead, marriage can't be forced on her. And it is the duty of the females to make offsprings, that's what they are made for. So what are you telling me. 1 Like |

Re: Are Nigerian Guys Wiser And More Knowledgable Than Nigerian Ladies. by dany87: 6:13pm On Apr 20, 2015 |
Oh no! That is not what I really think. I do not think women are smarter in the sense that they are more intelligent than men. I've read some scientific studies which try to prove that there are differences in the kinds of intelligence women/men tend to have, and they suggested that women do better at verbal intelligence while men did better at spatial reasoning. However, these studies were very controversial and social influences since childhood can play a very big role here. I tend to think that IF there are ANY differences between female and male intelligence (I do not think there is definite evidence for this), they are NOT GREAT, but very subtle, and you might find lots of women with more intelligence in areas where men are usually more intelligent, and vice versa. Well, tell me how women are going to have children without marrying and being able to pursue your career while having children. It is certainly very hard to do that if you are single. And if the woman married early (usually to a much older man), he might not want to help raising the children not only with money, but also doing part of the stuff at home. And tell that to your parents/family, who may not like that a woman does not stick to a more traditional lifestyle. It is much harder for a woman to have a professional career if they want to have children alone or get married in Nigeria. Borrussia: |

Tanx OP for that nice. Observation i'v also taken my time to observe that aspect of women most of them lack the opportunity to explore such facts about life, while a fair share of women dont have interest. In such things bt as men we have access too. Alot of tinx n explore dem as well, and one other problem is "exposure" 1 Like |

Wow, so this made FP...I've just tried to catch up on the the recent comments, by the time I got to page 18 and noticed that a new page had been added (page 23), I had to concede defeat. So I can't really share more detailed comments. It seems most of the new comments I've read are rehashing the same tunes, nice to see more ladies here though. Maybe I'll try once I've finished my journey. |

Emdeejay: Yess!! Am proudly Naija. . Thanks for the vote of confidence. I think the OP has answered your question on the radio programs. The particular one I highlighted is the one called "The Woman" (issues concerning the woman are being discussed and some remarkable individuals get interviewed.). Its hosted by a lady also. |

queensmith:you had to convince me of your intellect? I sure didnt fail biology class. Exactly what im saying. Ok I got the message loud and clear - British culture was restrictive to women pre - equality era. Their culture was never based on an inherent belief (or an obvious one lets say) that women are incapable. Just a general belief that their roles should be confined. Nigerians believe in male superiority. That is a fckin hard battle to fight! Til today we haven't addressed it, issues as simple as bigamy or land use for widows remain unattended to. A woman who loses her husband loses everything, a woman with no education has nothing. Girls in the North are kidnapped for going to school. How do we even begin to compare their modern day experience to an age old oppression of women that has been tackled? wouldnt you agree this stems from socio-economic problems rather than equity for women. Mind you males were also kidnapped but the outcry is more on females. Stop the victim card. Stop nit-picking. That you failed to make a consistent logical point and give a definite answer is nit-picking? Quite an intellect No idea what you are trying to say here?thats how far deep your mind is buried in sentiments. 2 Likes |

You provide a statement with no arguments supporting it. I explained why women did not invent all the things men invented. Please provide some arguments/reasons (if you can) or this statement will not be something credible. Borrussia: |
Re: Are Nigerian Guys Wiser And More Knowledgable Than Nigerian Ladies. by dany87: 6:36pm On Apr 20, 2015 |
It is changing because of many reasons: the progressive industrialization of the country, the influence of modern media, more education (30 years ago, the literacy gap between men and women was much higher), the discovery of oil certainly helps. All these factors interact with eacth other in complex ways, reinforcing themselves. There are many reasons why the world advances, we just need to make it happen as fast as possible here ^^. Re: Are Nigerian Guys Wiser And More Knowledgable Than Nigerian Ladies. by Nobody: 7:01pm On Apr 20, 2015 |
Missclasssy let me do some analysis for you to understand okay. 1. Great minds discuss Idea, Idle minds discuss People: Men rarely discuss on their counterparts wearing dolce and gabana, fashion line, shoe, etc but women eh! Dey gossip about Annie putting on a short skirt, etc. Imagine if the 3 wise men were 3 wise women 2. Ladies are into business of scamming magas and developed their skills into gold digging investment They reason like hen where they are expecting the poor soul cock to toast them and cater for their needs. 3. They only think of wedding their dream man as the best achievement. 4. They are extremely lazy and reason like coconut. 5. They read silly magazines, watch slow poke tv channels and hang out with un reasonable friends. 2 Likes |

Re: Are Nigerian Guys Wiser And More Knowledgable Than Nigerian Ladies. by dany87: 7:09pm On Apr 20, 2015 |
That is certainly untrue. Men also discuss trivial topics, and please read our past posts. On average, women are less educated for cultural and social reasons, so it's easy to see why they would talk about appearance, since they were not allowed to have a propera education and need to marry someone who can maintain her. Read the last three or four pages instead of posting something at the last page please wristwatch: |
