So long as we refuse to invest in new refineries, fix the existing ones to refine at full capacity, generate and distribute enough electricity that would serve the citizeneries of this country, we can curse to the end of the earth. We will forever be at the mercy of these fuel marketers. PDP as a party for the past 16 yrs has refused to come up with a plan to put an end to fuel importation becos its cronies breath and live on the fraud called subsidy. Come may 29th 2015, GMB has a mandate to liberalise this sector, pass the PIB bill so that investors can build new refineries, audit the TAM contract of the existing refineries and privatise them. The same cabals running the fuel importation business are the same people running the power sector. GMB has his hands full, but we know he can deliver in four years.
I pray to God that you are right. GMB has got a hell of a job in front of him to clean up the big mess he will inherent from the outgoing clueless one. May God help him.

Funny enough, if there was one policy I supported him for, it was the removel of subsidy.

I have known it to be a scam, a conduit for looting the treasury and largely an unsustainable mechanism.

I would gladly acccept its removal today as i was back then.

So, before you think every single person in opposition of his leadership is in opposition to all his policies, realise ....it simply isn't true.
no Nigerian even the labour union support subsidy. We all want subsidy to be removed. However before the subsidy should be remove the refinery should be repair and new refinery build to meet our fuel demand. Pdp had 16 yrs to upgrade our refinery but they choose to do nothing

Too toooo late for a fix.. nigeria needs a solution that involves destroying the cabal with vested interests in the country's progress. Crude prices are low. Revenue streams have dropped.. we export nothing but highly unskilled labour and we breed more buffoons than smarts. We must take matters into our hands if GMB is not ready to take the knife to the throats of the people who are making sure our generations never progress further than us.
fuel subsidy is corruption, but that is what oil marketers like tinubu etal enjoy.when president jonathan try to remove it you guys riot in Lagos.

Pres. Jonathan has fight for total subsidy removal but the structure in nigeria need many first class refinery that is functioning well to do that.hence he manage and there was fuel.

As pres. Jonathan is leaving he removed the subsidy from the budget so that when GMB comes in,it will be left for GMB to either implement what he claimed is corruption or better still let GMB give us the N40 petrol
arent that the change you seek.

This is even when the militant activities have not started.i praythey should be civil and leave bombing of oil facilities alone, but if GMB push them the case will be worse than this.GMB will be worse than Gej.

Gej is even reasoning with his PH.D .let see what a school sat has to offer.

Before Baba election victory, it was rare seeing soldiers' maltreatment of civilians in that style as shone yesterday in the petrol station.

Take it or leave it, you voted and brought back to rule you a soldier who ruled after soldiers used force to down a democratically-elected government. So don't blame the soldiers if they take the stance of being a most superior set in Nigeria. Don't blame Nigeria soldiers if tomorrow they organize and down a civilian government.

Simply put, after Baba's election victory, soldiers may have resorted to their old belief that they are the most superior set in Nigeria.

Whatever steps a government used in about five Years to stop harsh scarcity of engine fuel which for decades frequently arrested movement in Nigeria, the government needed to be applauded.

After our notorious religious violence, wonder how many TRUE experts from the West can venture into Nigeria for refinery works.

Not wishing Baba bad, but one thing is certain, irrespective of the experts Baba must be constrained to employ to govern Nigeria, the buck must stop at Baba's table; but how many months or years of further schooling had Baba put in since the last time he was HoS?

Please stop being insulting or don't reply me again.

Which soldiers are u referring to?The same soldiers that denied him prior to the elections? . And again, u sounding like ruling Nigeria is rocket science.

PDP is a curse and i pray it dies a natural death once the president hands over. GEJ and his PDP never had a fore plan to build refineries with the monies he would have saved aftersubsidy removal. The same govt for the past 16 years has been awarding TAM contracts to its cronies for years without anything to show for it. A govt that cant revive its refineries in years, how then would it have been able to build refineries in little time it had. If the govt was sincere about building refineries, passage of the PIB bill would have been its priority. Till date, the bill has not been passed. How do u encourage investors to put their money in refining when the bill still remains contentious.Subsidy removal would have created a channel for the party to embezzle the countrys scarce resources . As for the die hard TANOIDS, get over GEJ loss.Come may 29th, a new sheriff would be in town.

What a great day in Oando filling station at ile-epo, agege, lagos.... I bounced out of my house at around 11a.m in the terrible heat in search of fuel, and after trekking up to a mile and visited eight filling stations, i landed in HELL...

Yes i called it hell because it was a very big battle ground as every buyer fought to get served... Hundreds of buyers were beaten for misbehaving by the MOPOL and SOLDIERS in charge...

I recorded over 28 fight videos but too bad i can't upload them here... Even the MOPOLs fought With Soldiers... It was fun as i 'gisted' political issues with many people and scoped the beautiful ladies on the queue.... To see how bad we Nigerians are, the branch manager was beaten by a soldier for filling four 50 litres kegs of petrol and kept in his office to sell for those interested in black market....

OP I was at same filling station at dat period with my cousin.. I left at abt 3:30pm after I lobbyed one of der sales guy to buy 1500 for 10litres.. because dey stopped selling for cars so we had to revert to gallons. I experienced d tear gas iish buh not d soldier beating d manager..yea d black market fin was real. d lady was feeling herself.. most of d gals der were not fanimorous except for a very few of dem.. we lifted 1 on our way out though we promised to give er part of our petrol..in d process of dragging with my cousin..we didn't realise she was almost at er destination. Fun though! Those stupid tout collected money from us b4 our car was allowed in.

In the last 5 years, this ugly experience of Fuel Scarcity became forgotten, a thing of the past.
From the look of things, may be, this is just the beginning.

If this goes on for one year under Baba, the economy of South Sudan must overtake Nigeria's. Those who said it was a lie that under Jonathan government, Nigeria's economy overtook South Africa's as Africa's fastest growing economy, because Nigerians were not also rich ....

GEJ is busy preparing handover notes. You still de blame Jonathan.

During the last time Baba was HoS, we had to queue for hours before we got items as common as sugar, tea, rice, etc. They were rationed to us as essential commodities by koboko-wielding soldiers, as we stood for up to 10 hours sometimes under rain and sun.

Since then, Baba never attend any school to better his knowledge about governing a country.

Did you not see the ugly treatment soldiers gave to civilians in the filling station yesterday? Before Baba won, soldiers no de display such harsh mannerism. Continue to blame Jonah.

When you were shouting Sai Baba, and people were telling you that you want change from fry pan to fire, hate for Jonathan and his people no allow you think.
Next time, a soldier can overthrow a civilian government, then after running military dictatorship, that soldier comes back to you and ask you to vote him president, why can't you vote the ex-dictator and he becomes president?

Last presidential election, you people gave serving soldiers a license to organize military coup d'etat.
What on Earth is this dumbo saying! Is this the first time you've heard that soldiers beat up civilians anyhow?.

Please next time open your mouth and speak after you've reason very well with your brain!.
