peleson: Point of correction, HND is not regarded as Associate Degree but rather Advanced Diploma. Yes, you could use it for Postgraduate certificates or Diploma which will be credited towards your Msc. 3 Likes |

bossladyMo: I believe TTP is stands for Transition to Professional Practice, it is a program for graduate nurses to develop skills and competencies required in the Australian workplace. I want to believe the person involved already have at least a Diploma qualification in Nursing and would need do a TPP before proceeding for Bachelors in Nursing. The good thing is that, he might be able to get a job on 447 visa after the TPP without studying further. Though regional areas would have been the best place to this, as there is as always, an oversupply of qualified people in the cities, and the story is different in the regional centres. My advise to him is, go for the TPP and start looking into the regional areas for opportunities towards the end of the program. BTW, I know of more than 3 male Nigerian nurses in the Shepparton area alone bossladyMo: @BossLadymo, Weekend and Public holiday work is for the taxman, yes different rate (penalty rate) apply for working on those days. But you are also taxed at higher rate, that's why the locals don't like it, that's apart from family reasons. Weekends & pub hols was my favourite when I arrived, until I found out that the increment in my take home pay after taxation does not justify the hassles, so I started pulling back. But you can still make it worthwhile by using a tax effective strategy like packaging (if offered) or Negative gearing etc... |

UBKtech: Hahaha..true! But you still get an increment, which can come in very handy lol. I worked on a weekend, which also happened to be a public holiday on the saturday....omo I enjoyed looking at my payslip ooo...even though I paid higher taxes. Salary packaging is a very goood ooo....but that's if the company you work with allows. I guess the longer you live here, the more your mindset changes and becomes like the regular Aussie, and not like the Naija hustler. A male Nigerian nurse I met here also said the same thing you said...but he also mentioned he had the same mindset as me when he first arrived lol. He has been here 10yrs and e don turn Aussie finish. 1 Like |

Wherever it is stated in black and white that the minimum qualification is Bachelor degree or Higher, please do not provide anything less otherwise, it will be negative outcome. The second scenario is fine where it stated that Advanced Diploma is required for the occupation. You just need to look for any state or employer that will sponsor such occupation although the latter is very rare. I will advise you should go for TRA if you have the option. |

bossladyMo: I once did 25 & 26th December plus the Saturday after it and got slugged with a hefty tax bill that made my liver drop, my manager here is ready to dump all the public holidays on me but I just select the number I want. I am wiser now, tax wise. BTW, you will likely get all or most of your tax back at the end of the financial yr. I invite me for the party ohhh! 1 Like |

You have to go with what your assessing body says...not anzsco, as it can be misleading at times. |

proftaiwo: Hello proftaiwo, congrats on your positive assessment. I would like to apply to ACS for assessment but do not have ICT major. I have BSc Biochemistry but have shifted to ICT lately. I am taking ICT classes on Telecom, still working on it, hoping to gain at least 3yrs experience b4 I apply though. I just want to know how I can possibly get a positive assessment in nominating Network Engineer with work experience and my BSc later. I have had also few Telecom experience in the past but not professionally, also, since I am applying under ICT with my BSc can I claim the normal 10 or 15points for a degree holder and also that for work experience? Please any suggestions or advice would really be appreciated. |

bossladyMo: I do not understand how it is done in Australia but in the USA, the government expects that each household must be earning a certain base salary to be fully taxed. Coming short of the base annual salary, you get refunded for the difference at the end of the year and the refunding process doesn't exceed two weeks from when you file your tax return. If you file online, you get it within 5 days. I want to believe the Australian system is the same. However, the higher you earn, the higher the tax. And you can legally evade tax by donating to charity and charity organisations, your donations will be credited to your tax. It is one of the reasons why there are so many philanthropists in the USA. Not all of them are doing it for humanity but to get tax relieve from government. 3 Likes |

bossladyMo: TPP is Tertiary Preparation Programme like a Pathway to the Nursing Program. |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 8:29am On May 08, 2015 |
Ninibabe: Why does a need TTP anyways? |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Ninibabe: 8:30am On May 08, 2015 |
bossladyMo: Tnks BossladyMo are you in Melbourne too? Heard it's quite expensive. |

mPop: No state is sponsoring marketing specialist. Check csol and all state lists, then arrive at a favourable Msc course. Forget about ur sales experience so that it doesnt guide ur course pathway, rather embrace opportunities. If u loved ur Bsc course, u can find ways of integrating into toxicology for instance. There are hotcake areas u can fashion ur Bsc and Msc degree to for Oz. |

Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by izykvision0: 10:05am On May 08, 2015 |
bossladyMo: Aw u dey? From ur experience how much do you pay for utility bills per month. Min and max paid so far. Do u use AC, sparingly or always or not at all? |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 12:10pm On May 08, 2015 |
izykvision0: We got a bill of $380 for 62 days (cooking, hot water system, laundry, ACs and every other electric powered thig in the house) For the first 2 weeks, we were using the AC 247...but by the time I calculated the potential cost on Ergon website, we sharply reduced the usage. We cool the room at intervals during the day, and use the fan at night. But that's the rate for Ergon Qld...I guess it varies by state. Electricity Bills are sent out wvery 3mths. Landlord pays for water. 1 Like |

Ninibabe: My bad, thought TPP is Transition to Professional Practice program for Nurses. But why go through a TPP pathaway that he will end up spending 4yrs for BSc Nursing when he can go through Diploma/Advanced Diploma in Nursing to Bsc Nursing which will take 3 to 3 1/2 years to conclude? Plus if he goes through the Advanced Diploma pathway, he can stop after the Advanced Diploma (2yrs) and start working. Please ask him to take cover and run for his life. |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Nobody: 2:21pm On May 08, 2015 |
UBKtech: Exactly what I was thinking about. He can do the Enrolled nursing for 18mths, get a job as an Enrolled nurse in a hospital or Aged care setting, and study towards his Bachelor of Nursing while working. That way, he gets the Diploma of nursing, and can earn a higher rate per hr, while studying towards his BSc....3 1/2yrs total.......or just go straight for the BSc, close eye do am shap shap. If he was a PR, he for even do online course sef. |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by izykvision0: 2:26pm On May 08, 2015 |
bossladyMo: Ok cool, thanks for d breakdown. Yea different rates for states, but it gves an idea on the average. So this goes to say u haven't experienced cold spells that requires the use of jackets or cardigans yet? Although winter is still next month and i think Qld is quite hot compared to Victoria. 1 Like |

But it has normalised back sha....don't know what happened. Probably the breeze from the storms in NSW reached here lol. Victoria is crazy cold at the moment...12 degrees now |

izykvision0: When I got my grant, I had very few days to my departure I think 6 days or so and I was in great frustration. I tried to use IOM Nigeria but after sending in my application to them I realised their procedures mostly takes 2 weeks or more. So I decided to try IOM Australia - thanks to @ubktech for the hint. I got response swiftly and completed the application. Most importantly you have to inform them that you'll be paying through their accounts manager in Lagos and you'd be given Abikoye's phone contact who will thereby provide you with standard chattered bank information to make payment. All these processes took me just 3 days plus the price was even lesser. 1 Like |

UBKtech:There is no Advance diploma in Nursing program for international Students in any school in OZ, and probably diploma in nursing wont qualify him for SVP. |
Re: General Australian Visa Enquiries by Ninibabe: 3:54pm On May 08, 2015 |
mrnilobrawn: He weighed the options but found out its not on Svp. It's all about the PR my people. I work in the Bank but I want to reall spend time with my children. If he gets the PR I will resign and join him.I plan to rest for atleast 2 yrs just to be with my cuties. |
