VictoriaBee: Ultimately they were creations from Adam and Eve who in turn were creations from God and hence, don't you think they are the same 'creations'? If no, tell us the difference.... |

He is neither male nor female. Gender is a biological characteristic and God is not a biological being. God is spirit (John 4:24) and spirit does not have flesh and blood (Luke 24:39). Is it too hard to understand that socially God is referred to as a man because traditionally men were in the lead when the bible was written and it doesn't require genius level of intelligence to know that the authors of the bible would be more inclined to call him a man because of their social leanings then? There are things that don't need to be argued amongst adults.mtchew. 1 Like |

You guys on nairaland have taken your chauvinism a little too far. Pause and breathe. gods in many religions were variably male and female depending on what role each one played in the lore of the people who worshipped it. The 'gender' of God is man made. Just like the various religions that we make up to associate and worship him with. And yes I said him. Why? Because that's what I've been taught and it is become a habit. Just like most of you were taught and those who taught you were taught until it goes back to the first persons who ascribed the gender to him. |

Darkrebel666: Pity the subtleties of this discourse is being lost I got your point however xtian feminists are the one saying God being Referred to as He is the root cause of the patriarchy |
Re: Feminism: A Joke In Nigeria—for Now! by cococandy(f): 8:30pm On Jun 03, 2015 |
pickabeau1:even though I don't necessarily agree( too late in my opinion), I can obviously see why. If refering to God as a he makes nairaland dudes and those like them interpret it to mean the female gender is inferior, is that any surprise they would say so? A simple understanding of the reasons why God began to be called a man in the first place should be enough to eliminate childish arguments about the gender of God. |

naijababe: I am only helping the version of feminism referred to as christian feminism... strange but heck... Nonso23:hahaha..... evulz.... cococandy: good....i wondered why u laid a rant if u had read d text... you did Referring to God as He predates Nairaland.. so saying that is the reason why females are inferior?.... haha Females are not inferior..we are all equal before God but in marriage there is a head which you also agree with So what is the issue exactly To know why God is a He Not a Man...dont get it twisted |
Re: Feminism: A Joke In Nigeria—for Now! by cococandy(f): 8:37pm On Jun 03, 2015 |
Do you agree that God is genderless? Forget about who calls the shot in each individual marriage. Your marriage your style. Everybody and their style. (Another pointless argument in my opinion.) You're obviously not reading the arguments of those you're rooting for. Lol. Nothing I won't read on nairaland. Even the fact that God is refreshing to as a he is a pivot point for some arguments I'm reading here. You should be laughing at that. pickabeau1: |
