I think things suit yorubas for now the way it is. Commercial center of the country is in SW, Ogun state is fast becoming the industrial center. Economically, most states are relatively OK apart from osun and ekiti. Academically, the best universities are in SW-unilag, oau, ui, health wise, we have the best teaching hospitals in the zone. Apart from during gej's era, yorubas are always politically relevant. In most indices, SW is doing well, so the setup suits the yorubas, and as such no immediate desire to secede. What yorubas have always clamored for is federalism, unlike the SS and SE that feel marginalized.
The funny thing is that yorubas never wanted one Nigeria at independence. It was zik that pushed for it.

Main reasons:

1. Igbos think too much of themselves as the best tribe in Nigeria. No problem with this, but you will only get others to hate you especially when they know they are better.

2. Yorubas love diversity, they believe in competition, they don't start a losing fight, they have strong self esteem of superiority without making noise about. Many think it's a serious sign of weakness and I agree.
