When you post comments, i just can't help but feel that you are a girl. The pettiness in your comments are always very apparent.

The fact is, the South-African defence industry depends primarily on the sale of MRAP vehicles, and they constitute over 85% of all total revenue generated by said defence industry in each fiscal year. I mean, these are indisputable facts.

Now carry on selling your MRAPs, everyone makes and sells those these days anyway.

Unfortunately for you, the article is about Denel Pty (Ltd) making the top 100 list. Not the South African defence industry at large. Denel does not make the majority of its revenue from MRAP's, hence their purchase of BAE Land Systems this year to increase that capability.

You tried to be clever, and left with a bloody nose...."everyone makes and sells those these days anyway"....lol, such desperation. You've tried to shift the focus away from Denel, to our industry at large. Denel makes the majority of its money from selling high end defence products abroad, and about 40-45% selling to the SANDF and the South African Police Service.

Again, enjoy the ride in your imaginary MRAP. There was no need to try and sound clever on a Wednesday morning, no one forced you to comment. So enjoy your embarrassment.

A$$ licking? Hahaha the only ones licking each others a$$es is you and agugubugu. And honestly do you think Nigeria will have a company in the top 100 in 35 years? The answer is NO!

It took us years and years to get there(Longer than 35 years) and you honestly think a Nigerian company is just going to catapult into the top 100 when your still struggling to make decent mraps?

You know you are guilty of this, hence your immediate retort to been defensive. Quite as$-licking it is just wrong!

Don't under-estimate Nigeria,i remember the comments from South-Africans when only a few years ago, we were the 3rd largest economy on the continent. Many poorly informed South-Africans claimed it would be 2030 before Nigeria would emerge the largest economy in Africa. However today, we run an economy which is over $524 billion and the 25th largest in the world, while that of South-Africa is barely above $330 billion.

The same scenario is playing out in Nigeria's Auto Industry, before 2013, Nigeria had barely 3 Companies afloat in the Auto sector. Today( 12 August,2015), there are over 23 Auto vehicle assemblers and car component parts manufacturers in Nigeria, with more coming in. We now even export APCs, something barely unheard of in 2014. Yet again, you South-Africans are fidgeting.

If you under-estimate a Nigerian in business, you would get severely burnt.

We might not be making "decent" MRAPs like you claim, but those "not decent" Armoured vehicles are already been exported. Again profits from of sales of the IKRI MRAP would go both to DCD and the Nigerian partner.

Is a Nigerian company going to catapult into the Top 100, I don't know, let us wait and see. The Nigerian interest in Defence related line of business is still very low, if interest pick up, you'll be foolish to not bet on us.

* for the Record, I'll pick the Igirigi over any South-African LAV, I'll also pick the Proforce MK2 and leopard over any South-African LAPV or Recon vehicle.

Congratulations, you made the list of top 100 selling MRAPs. Not much of an achievement, but since you are South-Africans, what more can i say. Keep selling those MRAPs.

By the way, we've already started exporting vehicles to both Rwanda and the South-Sudan, and our company is still very young.

Hahahahahaha

If you are so good at buisness... Howcome South African run companies dominate your economy and slaughter any domestic opposition?

Again, you are dead last on the list. For a Country that has supposedly been in the arms manufacturing business for over 50 years, that's simply not an achievement to celebrate. Again, excerpt you are South-African were mediocrity is celebrated!

If your jealousy is at such a level that you want to play dum.b, then so be it....i cudnt care less. How many defence companies are there in the United States and Russia alone? 5? 20? Or hundreds, if not thousands. Its a damn good achievement for Denel. Taking into account they were excluded from international participation up until the early 90's.

Your Defence industry depends primarily on MRAPs for it's total generated revenue. This is the fact!

Denel placing last in a least of 100 companies is also not an achievement. Neither does the list contain exports as a primary criteria for judging how companies were placed.

And just on queue, this Defenceweb article adds another slap to his face. So the Denel division that actually makes MRAP's only contributes 28% to total Denel revenue grin grin grin

"Denel Land Systems' (DLS) billing as a consolidated, project-based, systems designer and integrator of combat turrets, artillery and infantry systems, small arms and armoured vehicles is upheld by a recent maintenance, repair and overhaul contract for 1,900 police assault rifles and the sale of 1,000 SS-77 machine guns.
...
These, along with other DLS work including the new infantry fighting vehicle for the SA Army, saw the Lyttelton, Centurion headquartered business division contribute 28% of Denel's revenue in the 2014/15 financial year. DLS has, according to the latest Denel annual report, for the 2014/15 financial year, completed maintenance, repair and overhaul of 1,500 SA Police Service R5 assault rifles with 400 still awaiting refurbishment in the year under review.
...
Other work DLS' 630 employees were involved in during the year under review included bringing industrialisation and production on phase two of the new infantry fighting vehicle - the Badger - ahead of schedule and a renewal of interest in the new generation Casspir (NG2000) particularly from African countries."
