And out of all those countries with all their defence companies, certains people will still attempt to put us down, claim we are "stone last" "pathetic"....when they themselves are nowhere to be seen. Just look at the circles SA rolls in.

India, Pakistan, Brazil, Egypt major arms manufacturers aren't on the list. The amount in Arms indian and Pakistani militaries procure each year is more than the combined total of all weapons outputs of all countries in Africa.

That list isn't a true reflection of total arms traded.

Keep playing dum.b. Completely up to you. You've chosen not to answer the basic question about Denel, so no stress. Have fun.

You nag like a woman.

Had the good fortune of seeing this baby up close while doing my vac work at Dynamics a few years ago. It's really a sexy beast. Unfortunately it didnt work out. Although i have a sneaky suspicion that the new Skua target drone under development will be along similar lines.

India "exports" arms to India? Pakistan "exports" arms to Pakistan? I never knew, thanks for educating me.

-Yes it is.

- 100 companies were listed, of all Denel has the un-enviable honour of been placed last.

- of the 100 companies rated it came last. This is the indisputable fact.

We have no evidence to prove that if more companies are rated, it would score any better than last.

100 out of 100 = LAST!

You sell Casspirs, and units were sold to Uganda.

You are the MRAP nation.

Are you illiterate?

Worlds TOP 100 Defense companies

So, of all the defense companies in the world it is among st the BEST 100

Thus it is ranked amongst the BEST companies in the world.

Last of the best is better than DICON

And yes, we sell casspirs... but you said the majority of our profits were from MRAPS. So, who are we selling to and in what numbers?

Top 20 world arms exporter

Denel is one of the 100 biggest and best defence companies in the world

We don't claim to be weapons exporter, however, you do, and you were rated last!

Read your post - double standards are apparent

Where is DICON on the list?

Wow you really come across as being a jealous f@ool.

You say Denel is last yet there are no defense company in Nigeria rated.

Nigeria has never exported more then $10m arms a year in its entire history yet it talks about SA being rated last what a shame.

On your MRAP's bi@tching parade, I guess the Al-Taraq/Raptor PGM, Umbani, UMKHONTO SAM and Ingwe sales to UAE, Pakistan, Algeria and Finland also falls under MRAP sales.

I dare you to list in detail Nigeria's superior arms manufactured products.

So to summarize and conclude.

They listed the top 100 defence companies in the world based on REVENUE, Denel came at 100. But if they were to list say the top 400 defence companies based on REVENUE, a certain someone says there is no proof whatsoever that Denel cannot end up at 320 or something random like that. One then wonders why which ever NEW companies end up ahead of it in the 400 list, wouldnt have already been ahead of it in the 100 list.

Perfect logic. Otherwise known as bitterness, jealousy, and trolling.

You know you are guilty of this, hence your immediate retort to been defensive. Quite as$-licking it is just wrong!

Don't under-estimate Nigeria,i remember the comments from South-Africans when only a few years ago, we were the 3rd largest economy on the continent. Many poorly informed South-Africans claimed it would be 2030 before Nigeria would emerge the largest economy in Africa. However today, we run an economy which is over $524 billion and the 25th largest in the world, while that of South-Africa is barely above $330 billion.

The same scenario is playing out in Nigeria's Auto Industry, before 2013, Nigeria had barely 3 Companies afloat in the Auto sector. Today( 12 August,2015), there are over 23 Auto vehicle assemblers and car component parts manufacturers in Nigeria, with more coming in. We now even export APCs, something barely unheard of in 2014. Yet again, you South-Africans are fidgeting.

If you under-estimate a Nigerian in business, you would get severely burnt.

We might not be making "decent" MRAPs like you claim, but those "not decent" Armoured vehicles are already been exported. Again profits from of sales of the IKRI MRAP would go both to DCD and the Nigerian partner.

Is a Nigerian company going to catapult into the Top 100, I don't know, let us wait and see. The Nigerian interest in Defence related line of business is still very low, if interest pick up, you'll be foolish to not bet on us.

* for the Record, I'll pick the Igirigi over any South-African LAV, I'll also pick the Proforce MK2 and leopard over any South-African LAPV or Recon vehicle.
Defensive? Dude what do you expect me to say? " Yes i agree to everything you say Henry even though its utter BS"?

And i always knew Nigeria was going to over take South Africa as the largest economy, what shocked me was how long you guys took to do it, with 3X the population and massive Oil reserves Nigeria shouldve been the largest economy in Africa years and years ago!

And dont compare your Automotive industry to ours, the day you export 270 000 vehicles then we can talk!

Wow!! Well done one exporting your sh1tty cheap APC to your Poor Neighbors you must really feel proud, We'll continue selling our MRAPS to proper militaries around the world!

And lastly my original post was never intended to insult your defence industry, you yourself said your not sure if any of your Defence companies well make the top 100, it took Denel 47 fvcking years to get into the top 100, so yes i think its 100% realistic that no Nigerian Defence company would make it into the top 100 in the next 35 years.

You are dead last in the list, for a country that has been in the business of arms for the past 60 years, that's not an achievement.

Brazil has not purchased any A-Darters.
You keep forgetting that we also have the 18th largest Defence industry in the world mate, we have many defence companies that constitute to our defence industry not just Denel.

When a Nigerian enters into any business line, sooner we begin to dominate that business. Watch out for our companies, we've already started exporting.

..... And eh.... Would you stop as$-licking Frum's as$ in the photo-sharing thread, it's becoming quite embarrassing.

It will definitely take you a life time to realise that. Most advance and. modern defence companies in world took many years to be where they are. Trust me you will die before ever realising that dream.
