staydogged: Wow a lot of us look at the college website while looking for Post graduate programs, also coming from a different educational background how is one supposed to know all these? Post graduate is actually anything you study after you first degree abi? all this mix up nawa o. |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by staydogged: 12:14am On Aug 13, 2015 |
Bro, the credentials is what matters. one is graduate certificate while the other is advanced diploma these colleges know what international students need thats why they give option of fasttrack for advanced diploma programs. this is just to deceive people thinking its postgraduate and they will enrol into it. in as much as the knowledge can be so useful for a bachelors graduate it is an undergraduate level program. advanced diploma majorly gives technical knowledge, so after so many years working after school you should have enough practical exposure to cater for any technical deficiences in your bachelors standupguy: |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by staydogged: 12:18am On Aug 13, 2015 |
That reason is exactly what the college gave it that was why they call it postgraduate. but on the educational certificate chart, advanced diploma is a UG program. that doesnt mean you cant get visa with it after bachelors, you just mst really be somewhat fresh from school.....not some big brother status.....if u get what i mean... standupguy: |

please dont give up. look for a PGD program in your school that resumes january and transfer the tuition for that then reapply so you dont lose money calling back your money cos CAD don drop ganan. the VO leaving out all other reasons to tick just two means they really assessed your application and they saw all your documents. standupguy: |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by hayqinsbFX: 12:30am On Aug 13, 2015 |

staydogged: Bro thank you, I will have the school send the cheque to my bro in canada, so the money isn't coming to naija for now till I make my decision. I am not really one to give up on things but on this one I have really had it, I no go lie. |

thesoj:But why do people with bsc from Nigeria still get trv's for ordinary diplomas Ordinary diploma that requires just o'level as entry requirements. I know one person resuming at sait this fall, he is not a nairalander. He declared he has a bsc in his app form yet he still got a visa. I think much depends on the contents of the SOP and how well you can convince the vo. And the guy is over 30 years old. Course also not related to previous study even though, they are both engineering. Standup guy should just get is gcms through is bros in Canada. 5 Likes |

berexio1: It can also be dangerous to leave the name of your sibling out cos he/she could also have listed u in their family form when they were leaving. All that data is stored on their system. Better to tell the truth and let them do their worst or it can be used against u and u can't easily fix that like u would if u were rejected for insufficient funds. 1 Like |

Bennet642k2: Paper....i did upfront medicals |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by thesoj: 5:37am On Aug 13, 2015 |
You asked a great hypthetical question... I've not seen any BSc holder on this thread who recently got a TRV for a diploma admission. However I can't dispute that some Naija applicants (outside this thread) in this situation get TRVs; in such cases the SOP may have dedicated some space to justify why the person is not doing a PGD or MSc instead. Or maybe the candidate is just fresh out of BSc. Or maybe the VO was nuanced and understanding. E go beta. saxywale: |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by thesoj: 6:52am On Aug 13, 2015 |
Akin, when will you be able to pick up your document from VFS? I wish you well bruv. Even if you don't get it this time, you are now a guru and can always apply again with a PGD admission. But stay optimistic until you see the passport. hayqinsbFX: |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by CoCoLav(f): 7:33am On Aug 13, 2015 |
standupguy: There's someone who applied five times in part 4/6 and was given the fifth time within 2 weeks. I like to look at things from the positive angle. Maybe the person meant to help you hasn't reached Canada yet or the company that is to employ you is still in pre-incorporation stage. Put your hope in God...he has a plan for your life. 7 Likes |

Hi guys, i just got these information of documents to be submitted at Point of Entry but i dnt seem to understand how to go about documents no5 and no6. Please can anyone throw more lights on these. Thanks Hello Jeff, You will find this useful while at the POE; The CBSA officer will ask to see your travel documents when you arrive in Canada. Make sure they are not packed in your luggage, and that you have them with you. This will help speed up your entry to Canada. You should be ready to show the following documents: 1.) A Valid International Passport or Travel document 2.) The letter of introduction from the visa office that you received when your study permit was approved (this letter contains your permit reference number and the CBSA officer needs this letter to issue your study permit) 3.) A Valid temporary resident visa (if required) 4.) A copy of the Letter of Acceptance from the designated learning institution at which you are accepted to study 5.) Proof that you have enough money to support yourself during your stay in Canada and 6.) Letters of reference or any other documents recommended by the visa office where you applied Carry these items and all other valuable papers, cash and traveler’s cheques with you at all times. Do not put them in your checked luggage. You may not be allowed into Canada if any of your documents are missing or if any of the information on your application or letters of reference is incorrect. 2 Likes |
