Ok good. Keep in mind that "Room and Board" refers to both housing and food, not just housing. Whatever amount you put under room and board should be able to sufficiently cover room and food. obiscolly: |

Leaving that box blank doesn't in itself jeopardize your application. I just think it is important to make the VO's work as easy as possible, so as to not invite additional scrutiny or doubt. It is well bro. sholay2011: 2 Likes |

Waoh! "...any youth who is not on this thread is just wrong". It's good to be here, I hail all the hail-ables. As much as I don't wanna be lazy by reading from page 1, the more I tried doing that the more I just keep missing things up. Seeing terms like TRV here nd there coupled with other terms now almst made me lost inbetween the pages...winks. Pls to start with, 1) putting working(during nd after) study into consideration, what province should one choose to study in? 2) hw can I convert my cgpa to canada standard? Thanks. |

@HayqinsbFX, I'll have to agree with Snappyfingaz. The reason why it is difficult for Nigerians is because we are a poor country (with lots of applicants, many with forged documents) and as a result they don't want people who will go to Canada and be a burden on their system. Deferring admission is legal and is not a big issue. The big issue is we have a horrific economy and the VOs know that most applicants won't come back to Naija therefore the VOs need to make sure that whoever is issued a visa will not be a burden on Canada. They also need to know that whoever is issued a visa will come back home if he/she is not able to legally stay in Canada after studies. Unfortunately the high level of scrutiny means lots of genuine applicants are refused. This is why we all try to mitigate risk by putting together well-packaged applications. 3 Likes |

I think so. You could then put like $3k or $4k (or more) in the "other" box. obiscolly: |

IyaEjima:And what was the reason it took that long? Probably you begun your application way before the deadline for fall. 8 months is quite long! |

obiscolly:I'm also for UofM. My application took 5 months too. I think @iyaEjima is right. |

Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by obiscolly(m): 7:31pm On Aug 15, 2015 |
IyaEjima:Well, i'd say probably thesis courses might be an exception. Immediately my supervisor agreed to work with me, he recommended me to the department, then my file was sent to Faculty of Graduate Studies. It took about two weeks after they received my file to send an offer. So probably getting a supervisor for thesis courses can help fast track the process. |

hayqinsbFX:Lol.. You just can't be serious with this post. I will assume it's all coming out of frustration bro which u won't def accept. But considering the above bolded statement, all I will say is "be careful what you wish for". In as much as most of us still have that financial family support while we study and I also assume you will have that and that's why u made that statement, always remember all fingers are not equal. Am sure you will take it back and wish you never said it once u are in the system soon. Just watch somethings you say. Don't blame this on other Nigerians that really wants to succeed in life as much as u do. Please note am not attacking u as I also respect your opinion, it's just not fair on some people. Be considerate. #JustSaying o 17 Likes 1 Share |

hayqinsbFX:I will start by saying the obvious, you have been very helpful in this thread and have received appreciation from others for it but you are not the first applicant to be refused a study permit on this thread but you are amongst the first to stoop so low as to start blaming other Nigerians especially those residing abroad for your refusal which is really quite sad and no one here claims to be a Visa Officer, rather what they do is draw upon personal experiences and similarities from prior applications and personal experiences in Nigeria and Canada in advising others but ultimately it is up to each applicant to decide what documents to include in his or her application and to bear full responsibility for the outcome of their application and this includes applicants who decide to delegate that responsibility to an agent as well, which brings me to my point, your assertion that other Nigerians through their actions or inactions is responsible for your refusal is patently false and misplaced. You are not a Visa Officer neither are you undergoing training to become one so the fact that you think you have submitted a perfect application will/does not automatically translate to an approval of your application from CIC Accra; therefore, if the professionals who are actually trained to do that particular job discern that you do not meet the requirements please accept that decision and make a new application after you think you have addressed the refusal reasons or you can decide to study elsewhere. CIC Accra does not hear your rant on Nairaland in-case no one has told you and even though you are chagrined by the refusal it is still absolutely not an excuse to start slandering your own fellow Nigerians just so you can lay blame at the feet of someone else which i consider as cheap shots, a blow below the belt and equally a slap in the face of a lot of people both home and abroad who take their time out of their busy activities to contribute to this thread even though they are not paid for it but out of a burning desire to help other applicants make a successful application and eventually be a success in Canada and for you to suggest and i quote "Personally I fully support the removal of work permit for students while they study if that will lessen their strong stance in issuing study visa" without consideration for others or their financial background but yourself quite frankly really shows how tainted your opinions have become. 26 Likes |

it is either this post is a deliberate intent of being "silly" or a completely ignorant contribution. i will appreciate if you could quote my post where i blamed Nigerians living abroad for my refusal. i will actually reason with you if you could tell me now that dubious escapades of Nigerians have no effect of how VOs or CIC handles our applications. i believe this is the angle a reasonable contributor should look at this other than trying to impose a generalization you cant attribute to me teesboy: 2 Likes |

Hello @ralfudoh. All these questions people like u ask is a setback to this forum. Please read the forum the beginning. You will learn a lot... ralfudoh: |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by SeraSera(m): 9:45pm On Aug 15, 2015 |
ralfudoh: I'm not sure what you mean by address. If you're referring to the address of the high commission, I think you should use the one for Abuja and not Lagos. You can google it out. As for the police character certificate, it is not compulsory, but if you really want to include it and cannot come to Lagos, people have said it is possible to have your state command forward your request to the Lagos command and have it delivered back in a couple of days. |

Gu2015 Hello bro., did u get my pm? |
Re: Travelling To Canada Part 8 by SeraSera(m): 10:07pm On Aug 15, 2015 |
morgan2006: Sorry, in what ways exactly are his questions a setback to this forum? Don't you think you're being a little mean and condescending, especially with that mighty grin at the end of your little wisdom nuggets? How would you expect the man to feel after this very unhelpful response of yours? And how would you feel if you were in his shoes? Maybe you should take a moment, like I just did, to go through your own previous posts and see the very basic questions you yourself have asked on this thread and how helpful people have been to you in the past. And then come back with an open mind and do likewise to others. 9 Likes |
