All thanks to the hero of Nigeria's Democracy, my mentor and a gentleman. Who had clear vision on solving our power problem. God will continue to bless GEJ anywhere he is. The only question I always ask is what value has buhari added, but D answer from those brainless fulls is body language. But y have this same body language not stop the killing in the north. Why have there been no employment with this same body language, why are corrpt people like fashola, amechi, fayemi and co not been arrest by this same body language. Talk is cheap but before u quote me remember to add a useful input by buhari to power improvements, because we knee GEJ's input 5 Likes 1 Share |

esohjayy: Obasanjo started it while Jonathan continued but they both wasted so much money without result. Buhari is giving the results. Same with subsidy. People were paid for subsidy but we still bought fuel as high as 200 when Buhari came in. Today it is 87 as agreed. The reason is simply doing things the way they should be done. |

The NERC chairman has to be diplomatic and give GEJ credit. Yet the truth is that the power sector, like the oil sector and others, is another that was totally overtaken by the gross corruption and administrative irresponsibility GEJ is known for. Nigerians should prepare for the corruption and rot that will be revealed about the power sector under GEJ-especially the pseudo-privatisation 'boju-boju' that was just a way to enrich many AGIPs and PDP bigwigs. I will try and find an article about what GEJ actually 'achieved' in the power sector. Overall Nigerians should not celebrate too much because 4700 MW is nothing in relation to Nigeria's immediate and future needs. Yet the reality is that this modest gain is down to the much vaunted Buhari 'body language' because, give or take, we always had the capacity, even before GEJ, to hit around 4700 MW. those who know the power sector well will confirm this. in the end Buhari's 'body language' , centred around zero tolerance for impunity, is the reason some of us spent so many hours of our time online and offline before the election working for his win. I have always argued that Europeans and Westerners are no less corrupt than Africans. The difference is that punishment is swift and decisive for wrongdoing in the developed world, and this has created a 'deterrent' culture where things work , whereas this is not the case in Nigeria and many African Countries creating an 'impunity' culture where nothing works and it is every man/woman for himself/herself . Jonathan is a poster child of the corrupt ways and system killing Africa. He never believed in punishing anyone or holding those under him accountable. To that end, impunity reigned under his government and no one was bothered to do their job as they could/should. Under Buhari, a hardliner who believes people must give value for what they are paid to do, you will be fired for incompetence, corrupt acts or general indolence in the workplace. Crucially, everyone understand this and are 'behaving' themselves. The slackness that obtained under GEJ is gone. This is a President who will question why you have not done your job properly and will sack you if you have no tenable excuse. That is the major game-changer and that is why some of us backed Buhari fervently. That is what all progressive nations of the world have in common . I.e there is a system in place that punishes corruption, crime, incompetence, lack of focus and lack of performance. PDP destroyed all that with their style of governance which actually encouraged Nigerians to be as corrupt, as indolent, as clueless and as inept as possible with the obvious assurance that there will be no consequence at all for doing things that way. Change is here and the GEJ supporters can continue to resist and offer excuses but they will be won over in the end. Even today most GEJ supporters are beginning to understand that the lawless, indisciplined and ultra-corrupt society GEJ and the PDP helped to create, where impunity was king, is not a way forward for Nigeria. 3 Likes |

abagoro: 100% correct. People should wait and see. In the end it will be obvious OBJ and GEJ are opportunist and self-serving scammers who actually took the power sector backwards with the moves that Buhari will make and the revelations that will become public about past governments. The main thing Nigerians need to appreciate, as the number one reason many supported Buhari passionately, is that there will now be consequences for stealing, corruption, diversion of public funds, contract violation, failing to deliver results and not doing your job properly. This is what sets the developed West apart from Africa. In China they execute those who are corrupt. In Britain they jail MPs who steal £2,000. In Nigeria the more you steal the more you are praised and showered with traditional title. Your ability to buy judges increase as well just as Ibori demonstrated with how he was cleared of over a hundred charges of corruption in Nigeria yet found guilty of 15 out of 18 charges of money laundering and criminal conduct in the UK. People don't understand that progress for Nigeria will come only under a leader who can bring discipline, sanity, accountability and professionalism to critical sectors and processes. 2 Likes |

From the Horse's mouth ie. "electricity workers". Those who actually work in the power sector, unlike me and you, telling Buhari GEJ's privatisation exercise is a scam. http://www.olisa.tv/2015/05/10/electricity-workers-buhari-power-sector-privatisation-scam/ Electricity workers tell Buhari power sector privatisation is a scam 2 Likes |

hedonistic: Call Buhari what you want yet I hope you know there is ample evidence showing that GEJ is nothing but a glorified scammer and ultra-corrupt leader who only succeeded in taking Nigeria for a ride. In fact, since you enjoy insulting someone trying to right the wrongs of a very wicked and anti-people former President, I think I will find more articles about GEJ's 'achievements' in the power sector. the Senate President and Senator Ben Bruce comment about GEJ's 'privatisation' efforts. The NERC chairman should stop patronising Nigerians. It is too late to try and launder the image of GEJ. He destroyed far more than he built. That is the truth any honest and upright person, even if his biggest fan, will admit to himself/herself. http://www.nigeriannewspapers.today/mixed-feelings-trail-power-sector-privatisation/ In his concluding remarks, the Senate President, Bukola Saraki, lamented that after the unbundling of the Nigerian power sector, there is yet to be any noticeable change in the power situation in the country. 2 Likes |

http://saharareporters.com/2015/03/05/president-jonathan-and-pdp-have-finally-crippled-electric-power-sector-joe-igbokwe Practically all operators in the now privatized power sector are in the throes of death because the assumptions upon which they participated in the privatization bid do not obtain. The generation companies have little gas from the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC) to fire their plants to full capacity. The transmission infrastructure cannot transport the limited quantity of power available to different parts of the country on account of ageing and poorly maintained facilities. Therefore, distribution companies do not have reasonable quantum of power to sell to the public and generate reasonable revenue. Yet, the government has forced these struggling firms to pledge a donation of N5billion to its reelection campaign fund based on a promise announced by the Minister of Petroleum Resources last September 30 to grant the operators a facility of N213billion. 2 Likes |

erunz: Sorry to disappoint you but factual evidence, tied to how GEJ did things the wrong way and with the wrong people deliberately, show this is not the case. Jonathan was only interested in enriching himself, his cronies and his associates. This is why he handed marketers licence to undeserving and unqualified crooks who later went on to carry out the biggest fuel subsidy scam in the history of Nigeria and this is also the reason he conceded the power assets, under the 'privatisation' scheme, into the incompetent hands of his cronies who charged Nigerians more yet produced only worsening darkness. At some level, I think you fans of GEJ should begin to tell yourselves the truth. Seeing and acknowledging the truth about GEJ, i.e the fact he was destructively corrupt and incompetent, does not make you culpable because you supported him. It is okay to start accepting the truth which takes nothing away from you even as you voted for GEJ. You don't have to continue seeing and saying what is not true because this assuages your feeling of guilt over voting for a failed President. The truth coming out about GEJ , which is that he did not do much good anywhere or for anyone, cannot be denied. Sorry to tell you that. 1 Like |

Beremx: He will be. I am even surprised these elements have the mouth to talk. A bit like the PDP indicting Buhari of making the Nigerian economy worse over 90 days when the entire world knows they plunged Nigeria into a horrible man-made economic downturn because of their unconscionable looting and penchant for corruption. Anyway, they will all be silenced soon. Buhari has warned them that the PDP will have "no leg to stand on" when the probe on corruption begins. I personally cannot wait. 1 Like |

According to records, some of the achievements of the reforms are; privatizing the power industry, improved power generation from 2,200 megawatts he inherited, to 4,500, re-instating the moribund NERC and commissioning of several power plants in Ogun, Aba, Sapele and Lagos amongst several other achievements. Thank you Sam Amadi for putting these despicable people to shame. Imagine grown ups saying the fear of Buhari and his body odour magically increased our capacity to 4.700MW. 1 Like |
