If there is POP in the sitting room, is it advisable or proper to put a ceiling fan to hang from the POP in the sitting room?. I have seen some POP houses where standing fans are being used instead of ceiling fans and to me, a standing fan does not really carry the air around. Mind you, aircondioner is not an option partly because of power.

Since the top of the sitting room was decked and the ceiling fan hook was cast into the decking slab, it might not be a big issue because the wobbling occassioned by the oscilation of the blades will be minimal. But its not the same case in a bungalow where the ceiling fan might be hanging from a wood from the roof.

But to be on the safe side and show some respect for the POP let's support the standing fan option. The ceiling fan can also hide some of the beauty of the POP. Its a choice thing really.

We are also very active here in this site. POP works on more rooms, fixing of some remaining doors and hanging the burglary proofs, the only people I am still dragging out of their villages are my group of tilers who are still holidaying somewhere. Work goes on.

Thanks. sitting room is decked. The POP guy bent and hid the ceiling fan hook inisde the POP. I intend to unbend and unhide them and fix the ceiling fans. I have never been a fan of standing fans.

Sure it can, especially if the structural engineer looks at the plan and location of the project and gives his approval.

I would to point out that no registered structural engineer or city engineer would give his approval unless he has decided to loss his license. The reason is that both the BS 8110 and Eurocode 2 stipulate a minimium beam width of 200mm. So 150mm support falls short of the standard. If a client insist on using 6" Block, he's somehow on his own.

When we say imported in construction soils, it means that the soil was excavated elsewhere and brought into the site. The 100 trips is because of the depth of the land, see the earlier pictures from the start of the thread. The size of the compound is also big. Welcome bro

oga spyder, please do you advice i fill a land with a slope of 3000mm level variance from the highest point to the lowest? This land slopes backwards to the fence of my neighbor. Can i get this land back to a flat land or i need to accomodate the slopping in by stepping or by adding underground (i hate undergrounds, it is an option i dnt want at all). I desire a flat land. Please advice me on what i can do. Lastly, if i fill the land to level it, it would rest on the fence of my neighbor; do u advice me to fortifiy the fence by doubling it (extra reinforcement) to hold the filled sad? i fear it may push the fence down. i am not sure. just advice me spyder.

Not Wichtech, I used grade 1 Korean roofing tiles and it has stayed pure black till today.
