This is the typical Nigerian mentality and that's why we are not moving Foward. Remove the monthly peanut we get from FG and watch state owned factories spring up everywhere. That no state owned factory is working does not mean it's not feasible, it's because our brain and mindset has been programmed to be very lazy through the allocation of free oil money from FG every month.
enyi state no fit run industry and it has nothing to do with with laziness from oil..rather govts should do what they are supposed to do instead of embezzling money and sharing money to cronies

How will govt run factories? The way they run civil service or mdas which you know how inefficient they can be? You think industries in china is run by Chinese govt despite the so called communism they practice? Is it uk or usa? You think they are fools?

By the way govts in the past have set up factories and non is working now because of bureaucracy and corruption eg in Imo adapalm,avuru poulty,resin paints and many more

The whole Lagos covers the whole SE.

What happened to Onitsha, the "largest" e-commerce location in Nigeria?

Or Port Harcourt?

How can a whole Lagos generate more than the oil region?

This logic is so elementary.

I don't actually believe this report and it's doesn't matter whether southeast is ahead of southwest. I go by what is on ground and living standards. And should we factor these factors in the Anambra is miles ahead of everybody in all development indices. ffuck that garbage of a report.

Ide nnaa, don't be that way. Anambra mustnt always been in the spot light in the SE. For long, we are always in the spotlight while other Igbo states cheered us on, and even used Anambra achievements to take pride.

We must learn to do the same now. Ofu Obi! Be happy for Ebonyians and Enugu people, while we press on Obiano to work more to improve Anambra IGR.

that's surprising though

May be its because of d administrative skills of Enugu indigenes.
you can't compared enugu with anambra for now.

This logic is so elementary.

I see you guys trying so hard to separate Lagos from the SW's combined IGR.

THAT logic is flawed.

Onitsha is the busiest e-commerce region in Nigeria, why is it not competing with Lagos?

Why is it included in SE's calculation?

Ebonyi is under-performing. That state is not leveraging on the huge number of igbo investors and agricultural and economic technocrats she has available in igboland.
An agricultural powerhouse like ebonyi in the 21st century should have an IGR of atleast 300billion. There is serious need for fresh agricultural products in the world today, especially in europe and china.

I don't understand why Yorubas aren't agitating for a divided Nigeria.

Even when Nigeria is divided, Lagos is still going to keep rolling.

Yorubaland is going to keep rolling.

It is not competing with lagos because lagos as at 1993 was the capita of Nigeria and today lagos enjoys the privileged status as the commercial capital of Nigeria the same as Johannesburg and Rio De Janeiro in south Africa and Brazil respectively.

If lagos was never the capital of Nigeria with all the banks, telecommunications, oil and gas services companies headquartered in lagos, lagos would not be bigger or better of than cotonou in Benin Republic.

Btw ,the SE has just five states. The economics of scale is not even in her favour and yet the region still outperform others.

Lagos at 1993 was not a megacity.

Lagos stopped being a capital years ago and later, multiple Yoruba governors created a climate for success.

Abuja has been the capital for years, but they don't have the Yoruba leaders and vision to make what Lagos is now.

Other Yorubalands don't have Onitsha, ND oil and PH, but they're still competing.

So enough with the excuses.

SE total IGR = 61.1Billion
SW - Lagos total IGR= 57.3Billion
NW= 51.4Billion
NE= 24.4Billion
NC= 45.1Billion

Can anybody get me a link to Nigeria revenue allocation to states in 2014.

Lets find out who the real parasites are. Those who take more than they contribute. grin

Btw, Imo is lagging behind in SE, it's high time imolites do the needful and send Rochas parking from that state.
as for rochas, he s confused.

But I am surprised that southwest is 2nd, I thought they said they ve industries in ogun state grin?
It s unbelievable how southwest came 2nd? if lagos is not among the states, that is, southwest will be in the same line(IGR) with northeast. grin

You didn't calculate ss ?

I agree with you, corruption is the only impediment I see there. Nevertheless, let him put some policies in place to attract this investors. The raw materials needed for production are littered in every parts of the state.

Non-Yorubas won't leave. Lagos will just be another megacity located in a Yoruba country.

However, dividing Nigeria and creating a Yorubaland will make our leaders focus on the Yoruba interest rather than the NIgerian interest.

I'm not from either enugu/anambra but I have been to nnewi and enugu severally.enugu is an organized city with a well difined industrial settlement. You will see standard factories like alo aluminium, juhel pharma, golden penny, 7up, cocacola, Nigeria breweries etc can't really remember more now.

Do you know how many car companies have their offices/depot in enugu? Pegeout, Toyota, kia, Nissan etc ( are all these in nnewi?).

How many companies are even in nnewi aside those two you will see when coming from ozubulu and innoson motors?

I'm only being realistic here, go to emene industrial layout, you will see lots of industries.
Enugu is a top industrial destination, enugu is a silent insutrial city ( by Nigeria standard).
On your question, How many Industries in Nnewi?. The answer is over 200 Medium to large scale industries!.How many industries along Nkwo Nnewi to Umudim toward Ozubulu?. The answer over 15 Industries!. Nnewi is also home to over 5000 small scale metal fabricators/Welders!.Many people may not know this, Nnewi have a lot of Poultry farms each holding between 5000 to 20000 chicken!.Many coldrooms!.Private Hospitals/ Schools!. There are many Bank branches in Nnewi!.There are over 20 standard Hotels in Nnewi!.Rice milling in Nnewi?... Yes there are Rice milling also!.There are many other industries & businesses in Nnewi which I did not mention here, but with all these not including over 30000 lock up stores in the Markets, you can see that Anambra State govt can if they want comfortably generate at least between 8 to 12 billion Naira in Nnewi alone!
