lol. my friend population is the gift of lagos. lagos automatically attracts investors. forget this your theory. the port also is the biggest drive. build one in ss and see how the game changes

Ohh so Abuja doesn't have that population? Why not? Is it not a capital? Why don't you guys move there since it's a capital? lol

Truth is, series of Yoruba leaders cultivated a culture of growth in Lagos. Abuja could easily do the same since they get that funding.

A divided Nigeria won't make Lagos any smaller or less successful than it is.

A divided Nigeria will force Yoruba leaders to focus on the Yoruba interest.

Non-Yorubas won't leave. Lagos will just be another megacity located in a Yoruba country.

However, dividing Nigeria and creating a Yorubaland will make our leaders focus on the Yoruba interest rather than the NIgerian interest.

if they leave slash the money dey generate by 80%. non yorubas(mostly igbos) in lagos work harder. you cant argue this onr

The truth is that Enugu as a city is more industrialized than all cities in southeast except aba. Go to emene industrial layout and see for yourself, even 9th mile that is a suburd of Enugu will contribute to the IGR. Enugu is industrialized, emene has more industries than most cities. So don't be surprised with the figure.
I pray they should start utilising the coal.

Enugwu is a great city.
Anambra is growing rapidly.

My problems is that, dis offemmanu children will come online to tell us that east is underdeveloped. Lol

Underdeveloped?
SE IGR is higher than sw.

Only time will tell. we re moving non stop. cheesy

I see you guys trying so hard to separate Lagos from the SW's combined IGR.

THAT logic is flawed.

Onitsha is the busiest e-commerce region in Nigeria, why is it not competing with Lagos?

Why is it included in SE's calculation?

Lagos is collective efforts by all Nigerians, NPA, Igbos contributes more than 65% in Lagos ports, same wif International airport, Administative head offices all located in Lagos etc.

It s unbelievable how southwest came 2nd? if lagos is not among the states, that is, southwest will be in the same line(IGR) with northeast. grin

You didn't calculate ss ?

Lol! SW propaganda cannot survive the 21st century information age scrutiny.

I didn't add SS before for obvious reason. But since you asked, I just added them.

comparing abuja? abuja started off as an expensive city to check mate population. lagos did not so your comparison dont hold. besides abuja dont have port. you need to see that lagos is just a lucky city. the yorubas didnt perform magic

Most of the businesses in Lagos are owned by Yorubas. 80% is a joke. I'll give them 30%.

Many will leave and many will come.

Many start up companies are owned by Yorubas. Petty trading is going out of business, Tech is the new language.

smh.
And the idiotts allow these thread to be distracted with the lagos BS.
A state that has practically sucked off productive population and productivity from most parts of Nigeria and especially the SW.
A state currently facing the threat of ocean total encroachment.
Bleh. I'd rather the SE continue in its pattern of spread growth though more aggressively.

Onitsha is more of commerce, most of the industries in Onitsha are located in 33industrial estate, which is not too much.
33 industrial estate?... You need to tour Anambra State before you comment again!.There are some industrial concerns in 33, but it is more a residential area!.

Igbos do not contribute more than 30%. Even if it's up to that. Non-Igbos/Non-Yorubas also contribute a large sum.

Same igbos are also contributing to the Igboland, but igboland can't catch up with Yorubaland (over 300bn+)

With Onitsha and Nnewi, Anambra could not surpass Ebonyi and nobody is faulting that but can only see Imo State which has only enjoyed 4 years of non-PDP rule. IMHO Anambra and Imo fell short of expectations but Anambra is worse going by what the Government can harness iGR from.

Just 5 states in the south east generates more revenue than some regions with states that takes almost the entire allocations of the South-East

SE with their array of Stars, manpower and skills ought to have gone beyond this, just one software company or phone manufacturer like techno makes mores revenue than this, when you add banks and Nollywood then it should be way beyond this.

SE needs to encourage new investment by its indigenes to set up businesses like Ibeto and innosson is doing in the east.
just 5eastern state.

I am keeping this records,
Igbos moving to lagos ,jos, kano, kaduna, and other states does not mean we don't stay at home(east).
We re more in the east, extracting the east and also exploding the east.

So we move up north, west and south to expand our businesses and human resources.
Yet they lacks manners to appreciate our human efforts.

Only time will tell.

There is something simply wrong with having a large e-commerce environment, yet they're competing with states without when they should be competing with Lagos.
