With Spectre coming soon, I'd like to throw up this debate I had with a friend recently to movie lovers.

Who do you think is a better James Bond?

For me it's hands down Daniel Craig. He took the movie to become more serious. With Pierce Brosnan, we were treated to unbelievable scenes and storylines fit for kids and people who just want to see action scenes. From invisible cars to incapacitating wrist watches and bla bla bla. Pierce Brosnan seemed to be playing even while he was fighting. Who really fights and smiles (Unless you're in WWE where the fight is scripted) It just made Bond movies feel surreal and too fake to me.

On the contrary, I remember one of Daniel Craig's movie, where as James Bond, the best (and I think only if I remember correctly)equipment he had was a gun that works only with his fingerprint. His fight scenes are equally more serious, he gets beaten, has gotten shot etc.

The Daniel Craig Bond movies so far have blown Pierce Brosnan out of the water in my book.

Classic case of different strokes for different folks.

When I watch a movie, I would like to actually forget it's a movie and imagine all that's happening can actually happen real life. Pierce Brosnan ever smiley face even when he's about to be killed made me hate James Bond. Daniel Craig's serious face has brought life back to the role.

Just wait and watch Spectre, I'm sure you'd see probably the best James Bond script. (With Christoph Waltz as the bad guy, this movie can't go wrong)

I can't really say. They both have their charms. I'm just against people calling Craig "the worst Bond ever".

Pierce is the best thing that ever happened to bond since slice bread and butter.
When Brosnan was James bond, i enjoyed watching the movie over and over again.
Brosnan is got swag, he is smooth, sueve and the perfect bond.
Since Craig took over, i just hate the franchise. Craig go just day act like local thug disgracing james bond all around. I couldnt even stand the sight of the guy after Casino Royale. I cant wait for them to change to a new James Bond, maybe then some of us can have our 007 that we love so much back not this eyesore called Craig.
Funny, i have seen most of craigs when his not not acting as 007. I really do like him in all the other movies (Girl with d dragon tatoo, Difiance etc) but as Bond, na! The guy just doesnt cut it for me.
For me the best 007 is Sean Connery & Pierce Brosnan.

Craig is brute omonile/alaye/agbero and worst 007 I've ever seen. Pierce is a classic man.

Right from when DC was announced as 007 a decade ago, I've been against him. He's a thug. He should be a James Bond villain, not a James Bond.

He was ok in Casino Royale, was poor in Quantum of Solace, was very ok in Skyfall.

I have watched Spectre, and I was disappointed in the film. DC acted as one of the film's producers, so I'm sure he had some input into the film that made didn't make sense.

The CD 007 films may look more realistic, while the PB films are more...jovial/relaxed (kinda like Roger Moore's 007 films). The 007 films may also have earned better ratings, and earned more money (which will obvious happen, due to inflation & increased exposure), but PB is more representing of the decades-old legacy of James Bond.

I sincerely hope that DC never plays 007 again after this. Bring on the next James Bond! (Tom Hardy)

I saw Spectre today and Craig wasn't bad. I like the serious look in his eyes.

All of u screaming dat Craig is the worst 007 havent watched Timothy Dalton, dat guy didnt fit. Daniel Craig is actually acting earlier versions of 007 when he was newly promoted to double-0 status, dats why u guys r not used to him.

Craig is what one will call a thug. He's not so cool and doesn't have the swagger of James Bond. He can't even have his way with ladies because of his thug fighting lifestyle. They replaced his bond girls with women cause he's too rough and can't handle bond girls softly and smoothly.

Pierce imo, is the best James Bond of this century.

I agree, and I have seen SPECTRE.
I think the problem is this new emphasis on his being an assassin rather than a Spy with a license to kill.
Watching bond these days, u get the 'kill' aspect of the movie but not enough of the spying.
Even Timothy Dalton with his high number of kills didn't come off so brash and bloodthirsty.
An accomplished spy without social skills Hmmm.
The Bond movies are a bit more serious like in the Dalton days, but are now more or less action movies.

Of all the bond movies I've seen, Craig has been the only one that has removed the word "spy" from it. He's more of a brute than a spy, a fighter than a lover and more of a tout than a bond with swagger. He's the direct opposite of what James Bond really is....a spy and a lover.

Daniel Craig gets my vote, the other bonds were bonds of their respective eras vis-a-vis cold war, trade wars, proxy wars and industrial/technological espionage. This is the Era of anti-terrorism, religo-politico fanaticism, powerful cabals and shadow organization with moles inside many spy agencies who shoot before they negotiate and commit mass murder to gain notoriety among potential recruits so Daniel Craig is the ideal bond of our era who shoots first and asks questions later as a would be suicide bomber won't give Pierce Brosnan time to drain down his martini while explaining his big bang theory to the pretty lady he's chatting up as he/she would just blow Pierce up into pink mist with body parts flying every where
Among all the popular big TV anti-terror pseudo spies assassins and law enforcers James Bond had the weakest character prior to Daniel Craig and a poll in a British magazine on which of the J.B's(jack Bauer, Jason Bourne and James Bond) you would trust the fate of humanity to if the world was in danger influenced the decision to make Craig a more ruthless less sentimental bond and box office returns says it worked needless to say that Pierce Brosnan's bond came at the bottom of that poll and Bauer and Bourne were a close first and second as everyone knew that those two would do anything to win it's a pity they lost a few fans like some of you but gaining so many more fans in the process
