i think i know a little bit of bank loans and which i stand to be corrected that before a loan is granted to any individual, their must be a collateral and it should be done through the right channels and if the customer is not able to meet up he or she will loss the collateral that was initial tendered so why should it be the banker headache like i said i stand to be corrected.

If you give loan based on only collateral, how many customers will be able to get loan from the bank? For instance, how many people have C of O?

Moreover, not all loans require collateral to be granted. Some are overdraft, some are given based on turnover on the account. Some are Assets finance, some are tied to salaries.

Remember there is a competition among banks on how much profit declared at the end of the year. So there will always be a drive to give loans. This is done in most banks by giving targets to the marketers on how much loans to grant in a financial year. Just as there are targets for deposits, there are targets for loans.

He may not have stolen a kobo, most likely he was trying to threaten the bank's customer to pay up monies owed the bank. He works in loan recovery remember? And most likely the customer caught his tricks and maybe even knows someone in Efcc, these Efcc officials can be corrupt too and protect their own.

You got it 100%. He pushed it too far. Bankers usually threaten chronic debtors with law enforcement agents to get them to comply. He did not steal anyone's money but overzealously crossed the rubicon. Forgery should not have come in here at all. He really went too far with an unethical practice.

If he was jobless they will say it is because of joblessness and laziness. Now he has a job in the bank. What do we call this? I guess quick money syndrome

Loan recovery gone bad!

Save for the phone number that the Education Secretary was asked to call, one would have assumed that the Access Bank staff was trying to threaten the former into settling outstanding indebtedness.

Even if he had "good intentions" Access Bank will deny him now. He can as well kiss his banking career goodbye.

True. Occupational hazard in the industry. It is labeled 'donation'. The system will deny u first, donate u and finally prosecute u. Divine wisdom is required daily at duty post.

The dude is in loan recovery unit. He went to the extreme to get a loan recovered. He might have done what he did to put the fear of God in his debtor. But, he missed his calculations
