Bruv, homesteady didnt cry for not having Roberto. It was a quick question to inquire from us cules if anyone got any ideaa when he would be back since there was no midfield bench on that game. You dont wanna play a game without having a midfield substitute.

If anything, we should be given an award for everything we have been through. Tell me bruv, in all sincerity, how many clubs out there do you think would survive a transfer ban like ours? Do you know we started this season without a credible player on the bench? C'mon, we are where we are now cause of the ingenious of Lucho and his capable assistant Carlos Unzue.

You lots said we were gonna be torn apart if Messi failed to play the Clasico. You guys saw what a Messi-less Barca did to Madrid. Injury or no injury, a top side would do well regardless. If Man Utd had played the likes of Barca and/or Atletico or one of those top teams, it would have been understandable to bring injury to the fore as the reason for their non-qualification. But against the likes of PSV, Wolfsburg and CSKA? 3rd or 4th tier teams? Haba na... Fear God na! Do you know Valencia played us over the weekend with most of their first teamers absent? Yet, they held us (almighty Barca) to a draw.

I would never accept injury as been the reason for a top side like Man U not to qualify ahead of those 3rd/4th tier teams.

A bit busy now but lemme chip in this, before this last fixture man utd was having Valencia, Shaw , Herrera, Jones , rojo all injured and man utd as 2nd on the log was in qualifying position. Those are facts. In fact what happened prior to yesterday is irrelevant, Chelsea was on the verge of being bundled out by Napoli in 2012 only to bring the magic wand in the 2nd leg against all odds. If some barca fans could be crying for sergi Roberto after a draw with Valencia, don't blame man utd fans if they do same for their injured players. I ain't a man utd fan but that's the truth. I didn't want man it'd to qualify though

His constant reference to the homesteady as regards Roberto to prove a point shows clearly he's just trying to score some cheap points on the guy despite the clarity in his post.

That further buttressed my point that the fact that man utd paraded a weak team due to injuries and lost yesterday is not enough for anyone to use it against the whole epl like debroslink did. If dmcdad could be concerned about the bench why wont a man utd fan be concerned about his team regulars that were sidelined by injuries? There are teams who could rise up to occasion and grind out results at the last minute such teams would need experienced players to do it. Man utd lacked it yesterday parading damian as LB, varela, borthwick-jackson, nick powell and other emergency recruits to do that.

So wolfsburg that defeated bayern twice this year is a 4th tier club, right? Thats the kind of braggadocio that heralded the man city/sevilla duels until sevilla was flogged home and away. Zenith is also a 4th tier team and defeated valencia home and away, right? Ridiculous. i asked you how your barca would cope without mascherano, alba, alves buscuit, rakitic, pique and iniesta against a team like wolfsburg? Not forgetting how you lost to celta vigo, sevilla and drew with roma. Just like i told Dayo, when the time comes i will remind you when you guys wail here.

Your argument is baseless I swear! So because Wolfsburg defeated Bayern, they are now automatically a world class team? I see... I guess since Celta defeated Barça, they should be regarded as a tier 1 or tier 2 team. Abi? No?

Another thing is, you have purposely left out all the questions I asked in my earlier posts. I guess I would have to revert back to my shell and continue on with my ignore button.

Have a nice evening getting to the last 16. Goodluck! You guys will really need it.

Someone is seriously defending Man Utd's dismal UCL campaign? It surely has to be Airmark.

I'm 200% sure that the net spending of all the other clubs in the group for like 3 seasons is not up to what Man U spent this season, and you are shamelessly trying to defend them?

How would you blame the outcome of 6 games on only one game? Where all their players injured when they were shamelessly loosing and drawing games they should have won? Even after poaching PSV best player, they couldn't even win them.
Besides which useless 8 players are you talking about? Apart from Herrera and Schneiderlin , who else would have made a positive impact? is it them Rooney, Valencia and co that Man U fans constantly cuss at on their thread?

Even on man utd thread, no one is justifying their exit, but in your bid to cement your place as Nairaland Most Foolišh, you came here to disturb our peace with your jargons! Which normal human being doesn't know that EPL has declined greatly? O well, you are not part of this group.

Man Utd couldnt qualify in a group of PSV Wolfsburg and CSKA. man Utd is one of the top teams of the EPL

Thats akin to Barca, Atletico or Madrid not being able to qualify from their current groups. In SPain Barca Madrid and Atletico their top teams have already secured qualification before the last gameweek

That is why Spain is topping EPL with a wide margin in the coefficient

So Wolfburg beat Bayern makes them a top team?

West Ham beat City Arsenal and CHelsea so they should be able to take on Barca

Celta Vigo beat Barca, Barca beat bBayern that means Celta Vigo would beat Bayern conveniently

Some foolishness should be patented

Wolfsburg is not a team that cant beat any of your so-called world class team, that's the point. Your team without alves, mascherano, alba, pique, rakitic, busquets will struggle like man utd did yesternight.

Did i even list rooney among the players they missed? Try harder. Luke shaw, jones, valencia and rojo would have provided a better shield for de gea. I did nt expect you to agree cos you are the worst barca fan on this thread, as far as soccer analysis is concerned. I doubt if you have watched luke shaw played before. I blame van gaal for some tactical lapses in his games but wolfsburg was beatable yesternight, united conceded stupid goals because of below average players that littered their defence line. I dont need anyone to tell me that.

It would be noted that when he was in Chelsea, Madrid never went beyond the Second round and Chelsea in Makelele's time only failed to go beyond the second round just once

Don't you get the memo? Man utd shouldn't have been in that position in the first place.

2 weeks ago I said it would be a miracle to have the whole of Man Utd, Chelsea, and Arsenal qualify. Some peeps started asking for my head after that comment. Now Man Utd is gone. I am sure one of Chelsea or arsenal would follow suit.

The fact is, why would these clubs be in such a position in the first place? Chelsea are in a very easy group, but then I wouldn't say much since even the blind knows that it's not being a good time thus far.

As for Arsenal, bar Bayern, they should have won all their matches. Plus, they even won Bayern while they got beaten by Bayern too. So, it should have been a case of fighting top spot with Bayern, and not fighting for a qualifying spot. Haba!

Man Utd? Why would they be in a position whereby their qualification hinges upon the final day game? Shouldn't they have killed off the group at day 4 or 5? Wolfsburg? PSV? C'mon!

Tomorrow someone will say EPL is this or that. You guys should seriously reconsider your claims cause they are becoming laughable by the day.

Maybe EPL teams are actually mediocres and overhyped?? but these guys they are playing against are also the best in their respective leagues....no team can lace the boots of Barca, Madrid especially.

Bro, all due respect to every club out there (small and big). You and I know quite well that teams are more than eachother. The fact Malmo won their league is not a yardstick that they could stand La Liga champions (Barça). That's to tell you that all champions ain't equal. Some are more than others.

My guy, take away sentiments and answer these questions:

How has EPL faired in the UCL for the past 3 years?
How has EPL teams faired in the Europa league in the same period? And please don't give me the usual they don't fancy Europa league, cause Chelsea actually won it. If Chelsea fancied it, why wouldn't the likes of Tottenham and co?

After responding to the aforementioned questions, then you will see that EPL teams have been mediocre in recent years at least. Plus, it's no longer news that the media has overhyped the league and the players in recent times especially English players. No?

You have been blabbing about 8 players missing, or is Rooney not part of the 8 players?
Phil Jones? the same player that a Utd fan claimed was a danger to himself and the team?
Smalling and Blind have been the center backs for majority of the season, Darmian has also been a main stay! Shaw is out for the season and has been out since, man u has moved on, so he is not an excuse.
