grammatical blunder alert, madame le professeur.... The use of ''talkless'' is non existent and also grammatically wrong in the use of english. The more suitable and appropriate phrase is ''let alone'' e.g i can't be intimidated by the knuckleheads of this thread let alone you. No one is perfect in the use of words especially in the written aspect even if its one's own native language. Thats why newspapers, magazines and novel publishers have editors and chief editors for proper scrutiny of grammar in use when writing.

Alright, I really appreciate the correction. What of regardless?

Avicky am disappointed you don't act your age. You are a senior member of this thread and should not be the one drawing daggers or causing a stir up rather you should be the one directing, controlling and coordinating young folks. You are the reasons most female monickers hardly contribute because of the way you address them. Yes, gbagaun is good and spell checking us is good but don't reduce it to abuse.
Thank you.

You know what? I don't take you serious. If I see your prayers, I see it as a curse.
Btw, how do you do it? shocked. One minute you are instigating people against me, the next minute you are preaching? Sho ? You can multi-task oh.

I am oblivious of the survey you took for you to make that statement. The last time i checked, everyone is entitled to his/her opinion.

And yes I do not act my age, thanks. Pocket your advice.

''regardless'' as an english word isn't wrong and it can be used depending on the context of your statement, but in this case and context it wouldn't fit in. The use of the word in this case wouldn't have anything to do with being a grammatical blunder , but rather everything to do with contextual grammatical concord.

Hello guys! its been ages!

Been doing more of reading than commenting coz of my busy schedule. but am back fully now.

Early last month, just before i travelled to my school in the East to process my transcript, i had reached an advanced stage in a teaching job chase with a top school in Festac to teach Biology. In fact, we had already discussed salary (30k every month, even during holidays) so i was so confident that i had clinched the job already.

I waited and waited for their call asking me to resume work, but none was forthcoming. So i had to call the man that interviewed me so as to know whats up. He asked me to come and see him claiming that the school authorities decided to take action by next term.

With a revived hope, i went to see him. It was then that he bluntly told me that they had employed the other person that came after me. he told me that i was the first choice, but i shot myself in the leg by saying something i ought not to have said.

During the interview with the owner of the school and in the presence of the man, i was severally asked if i had plans of leaving soon. They bluntly told me how displeased they had been and would be with teachers who leave immediately after employment as this usually disorganize them considering it was a man's business. I consistently said No. However, i later on told them of my intentions to run a part time M.Sc programme in Unilag by next year. i honestly thought this would impress them as it would add more value to their school that another of their teachers is a Masters degree holder.

But that was my utter undoing.

The man told me that i shouldnt have said that. that the owner of the school immediately blacklisted me as she was scared that if they employ me i would leave soon. He further said that the woman they employed instead of me was a married woman with a child who is obviously going to be with them for a long time.

My feelings was a mixture of surprise and unhappiness.

Am back to Lagos fully now and hope to begin the teaching job search this holiday. Now i know the typical picture private schools wants to see in a job applicant.

"regardless" wouldn't also be appropriate. However, you could also use "not to talk of you"

Awwwww. Pele. At least you have learnt your lesson. Private schools don't want your progress to hinder theirs. Even if you are nurturing that ambition, please keep it to yourself.

Bro, God will do a better one. Start submitting soft and hard copies as the term is gradually coming to an end.
