Please register for ANC sis....21wks is far gone already. You are suppose to be given 3shots of tetanus injections, your urine is suppose to be checked routinely to rule out infections, your PCV is supposed to be checked routinely too amidst other checks. Hope you are on preggie vitamins like pregnacare, calcium, folic acid e.t.c?

The day of delivery of our babies shall come to pass perfectly, bringing forth joy and celebration in Jesus Christ Name. Whatever needs to open on the day of delivery shall open easily in Jesus Christ Name. The doctors, nurses and other health workers that shall attend to us shall be filled with the Spirit of God and shall be helpful, not antagonistic towards us, in Jesus Christ Name.

In Jesus name, oh God our father, we thank you for our lives and that of our families.
We pray for mothers in this thread and use them as point of contact to all mothers, that you will keep our children and protect them from sickness and perils of this world. That we won't lose anyone of them that you have given to us, neither will we shed tears of sorrow because of them. That you will keep us to raise them in your ways and enjoy the fruits of our labours.
We pray for the pregnant women here. That you in your mercies will grant them an easy journey to term and also grant them safe delivery at the appointed time. None shall suffer from miscarriage, ms will be easy on them, complications shall not set in before and after delivery and no evil eye will set eyes on them. We shall at the end celebrate mother and child.
We pray for our TTC sisters, they are mothers in waiting, may their wait not be vain. Father please grant them their heart desires. Some may have been mocked to tears, may you clean their tears and give them a new song. You are the God of Sarah, Rachael and Hannah and nothing is impossible for you. We believe your word that there shall be none barren. Lord perfect all imperfections in them and give them understanding family. In no distant time, we know we will celebrate them.

According to the routine, you must have an early scan for the viability of uterine pregnancy and to know it's not ectopic pregnancy at 8weeks,
the dating scan at 12weeks when it has fully developed,
the 20weeks scan for anatomy checking and sex revelation,
one at 28weeks and at 36weeks to measure the size and if vaginal or cs to be done.

I had miscarriage at 8weeks only to find out at 12weeks scan so this pregnancy, I follow all the routine scan and now 28weeks.

Plz Advise Me

Have NOT being on EBF with Mofe, he takes Nan 1 + breast milk....He doesn't seem satisfied even though he consumes the Nan 1 baby food in 6days using the medium feeding bottle gauged at 125ml.

Mum and MIL are suggesting I introduce him to very light pap mixed with the Nan 1 now that he is exactly 2months but DH said pap doesn't seem nutritious enough and he doesn't even like the sound of the name "pap" He said I should ask which other nutritious food can we introduce Mofe to or if the pap is really good for children.

Here I am asking.....Make una tell me.

People do it (seen a financially stable couple do it to their 2mth old baby as well, on the advise of the "mama warrevers" cos the baby never seem to be full) & have had to pinch myself & not get all up in their biz... corn is not easily digested & is not food for a sub 4 months baby..

& as prayer nor dey ever late; I pray that all the little things & even the big ones that bring smiles & grins upon our faces will never be what will cause us grief..

Can't afford to for now. Going through an unexpected very dry spell. The govt hospital here is on strike so has to be private. I have been taking pregnacare. I know my blood sugar is high, trying to manage it via diet. Bp is good. Dunno bout protein .

Pls if ur bld sugar s high, ie u hv diabetes in pregnancy diet alone s nt enuf. Wot was d value d last tym u checked it?

My experience so far at Gorges Memorial Medical Center.

Kindly forgive my early morning rant Abeg...

Before I start, please note that I'm not trying to bring down this hospital, I'm just simply sharing my experience so that other mamas considering them may know what they are up against.
P.S: I have zero tolerance for poor service.

After my pregnancy and I was referred to Georges for antenatal by my doctor who was also formerly at Georges before setting up his fertility hospital, I actually anticipated excellent services from them. So far, I've been very disappointed for several reasons!

I did a booking blood test which showed my HB count was 10.7, a little below the recommended level. I picked up fergon supplement from the hospital two weeks after the test which I used for two weeks only for me to get called up one month after to come pick fergon supplement as a result of the previous booking blood test.
This may not seem like a big deal but let me tell you why it is a big deal to me. Imagine I was unconscious and couldn't talk that I have used the drugs already, I would have been re-administered the drugs. Simply put, I can't trust them to make decisions on my behalf when I'm unconscious.

Following the blood test, I kept on asking if there shouldn't be a new test to check my blood level and see if the drugs worked well. Georges kept saying oh they will do that at 32 weeks. Please note that I'm at 20weeks. After talking to my husband who said my eyes looked pale, I drove to the hospital and insisted on a test. Guess what? My HB level had dropped to 7.3!!

That's when they started running helter skelta, prescribing me with fergon to be taken twice a day for one month. Now imagine I didn't insist on a test You feeling my rant now?

I'm 20weeks gone and I've only had one tetanus injection and even when I had that the doctor mentioned that oh, he forgot and I should have had it earlier....

And the drugs.... Let's not even go there! They give you the cheapest version of all the drugs they can find despite the amount you pay. One look at the drugs I was using and my other doctor mentioned, 'you can't get the right amount of nutrient you need from this drug...'

To mamas who have used them either for fertility treatment or antenatal, I'm still wondering how you coped. To others planning to use Georges, here are my tips for you:

1. Be prepared to pay heavily for little or no service rendered.
2. Be prepared to know about medicine, doctor yourself and be conversant with Google.
3. Be prepared to always seek second opinion for opinions they express. In other words, ensure you have one or two other doctors you can measure their opinion against.
4. Be prepared to always have to demand for good service. This may be a bit difficult if you aren't used to getting good service.
5. Finally be prepared to be overwhelmed with cheap drugs that will help reset your brain and make you question why exactly you are paying them heavily.
