Boss13: it is too early on a Sunday morning to be this stupid..are we even supposed to strike for our salaries? now according to you,we should strike for good healthcare system.as if the bad system does not affect us too. I had an S.R whose father was admitted in Lasuth for prostatic cancer. the doc paid for ALL bills incurred by his father. The hospital management refused to pay for even give him a discount.. yet.when Fashola's father was admitted in Lasuth, everything was free..or is it the case of OJB that got free dialysis in Lasuth because he is a celebrity? the change should come from doctors abi? and your politicians feeding fat in Abuja should do what? stay there and be ranting. 6 Likes |

PipSurgeon: You are the foolish and mad one here. I know the health system very well in this country due to close association. The same system that killed my mother because of you and your stupid colleagues negligence. Please don't get on my nerves this holy morning because you will hate my moniker. Can you imagine a health worker's quote? Take a look at your miserable self in the mirror and be honest about the number of people, your negligence has killed. Look at this half baked, stupid looking doctor for Christ sake or you think I look like the numerous naira landers you all can deceive. Please, my advise - if you have the money, don't patronize Nigeria Doctors. They are potential killers. I know them very very well. Many of them are frustrated. Go to LUTH and see for yourself. My doctor is coming to visit me today, he shall receive the tough edge of my rant because of this nonsense. I have always told him, how negligent, stupid, half-baked his colleagues are. 1 Like |

murphyibiam15:Doctors and their ever defensive stance. So anyone who speaks I'll of Drs is a bad-belle who wanted to study medicine but couldn't either cos he couldn't make the pre-requisite scores In Jamb or he was withdrawn from medical school? Bullshit!!!! Cos u r a Dr doesn't necessarily mean u r exceptionally brilliant or better than other professionals. U just need an average intelligence, dedication and hard work, to study medicine. I think this is the same quality u need to succeed in other professions. So please drop dat attitude once & for all jor. SMH 1 Like |

dohyn: You are mad and indeed mad. When you want to strike, do so for a good purpose. Because of your inconsiderate, wicked and selfish act, you and your colleagues never considered the percentage of people killed during your annual strike period. When I say I know doctors, I am clear about what I'm saying. I know your selfish reasons. I know all your grievances. You wicked lots do not want a better health system, you want extra cash. Don't let me expose you fools. Look at these idiots coming here to justify why they will continue to kill people. Instead of them to address the health system, they themselves have destroyed. 1 Like |

Wagasigiungu:bros is not about anybody who criticizes doctors...but about the hate in them doing it not just for a critique per say but to spite it.. am sure the lady i quoted has never been to any Nigerian hospital to see hw things work...doctors work with equipment but they're not the ones who take charge of them but rather the nurses whom the doctors depend on to use them and if they dont bring them the doctor in question is practically incapacitated to do anything lets take for an instance an accident victim that needs oxygen, assuming the nurse doesn't bring the cylinder do u tink the doctor can practically do anything? all am saying is that we should apply common sense why trying to criticize and not just for the sake of criticizing. 1 Like |

PipSurgeon: It is good to admit how frustrated you are. Whilst there are good ones amongst you, majority of you are wicked, potential killers strolling by, looking for vulnerable victims to send to the other world. The day I will handle you guys, and it shall not be a close relative. I will take it very personal and ensure that such Doctor goes to jail even if I spend my last kobo. Go abroad and see how careful doctors and other health workers conduct themselves. Why - because, if they are negligent, they lose their license and the hospital pays damages to the victims family. In short, people are even praying for doctors to be negligent so that they can become instant millionaires. 2 Likes |

This is touching but why don't u guys lockup the hospital since u cant work why did u not ask them to go to fmc b4 going for card this could have allow such victims locate functional facilities even if is bawalawu knowing fully u have oder from above.? Anyway, is it not u peoples normal adapted ethic to refer to a personal or benefiting clinic, tell me that's not the reason that only u is waiting and doing knowing fully u can't attend to anyone? bcus such orders Frm above runs this clinics and u are aiding them, no any in scene nurse will be there and refuse u assistance to give first aids and resuscitate this victims b4 proper attention is given. Don't blame me Dr I may be wrong abt u but I have seen worst things u Dr do bcus of money. do u really want a better law Drs.? |

chiefmidwife: Thank you for pointing it out again so that these vampires in the medical field can see it. Doctors in this country are frustrated and not passionate about their field. If you have ever been attended to by a foreign Doctor, whether in Nigeria or abroad, you will understand what I am saying. You will not need a soothsayer to know the difference 1 Like |

For other Doctors to support the OP's ineptitude shows that they understand his plight. Though as a lay man all I can say is that the OP has a fault in this scenerio but let's not forget to look at the remote cause which boils down to the policy of #paybeforetreatment especially in government hospitals. So to y'all calling for the head of this young doctor, pls take a chill pill |

Boss13: I laughed so much at your comment..look at you foaming at the mouth..I would advise you to ask your doc coming to see you today to please check your blood pressure..Strokes are caused by HBP you know..let's avoid stories that touch. Are you not part of the problem we have? you have seen doctors do wrong yet have done nothing about it. Expose us na and stop talking about it. Anuofia |

PipSurgeon: When I keep picking out your s.tup.idity, you continue to wallow more deep into it. I think you must be a resident Doctor who is yet to finish his residency. It is you doctors that are the ones frustrating the system. The government has always sat down to discuss, but you vampires want to seize the opportunity to make your heaven here on earth - wicked blood suckers. I can confirm authoritatively that doctors destroyed the health system in Nigeria and they are still destroying it. You, idiots want to blame the government. 2 Likes |

Most people blaming the OP for not doing enough do not understand a lot of things. The people to blame are his wicked superiors. The OP is just a houseofficer...he knows little yet! The way out is for people to start sueing hospitals & irresponsible health systems. A situation in which people only engage in e- emotional outbursts against persons or groups will not improve the system. Cheers everyone! 1 Like |

Wagasigiungu:Enough of these insults. You are not a Doctor. You don't have the slightest clue about what we face everyday. You guys come up here and accuse us endlessly. You guys need to chill. We're the ones in the system. We're the ones who face all the challenges. The healthcare system in Nigeria is in shambles. Govt ain't helping the situation and patients aren't either. |
Re: My Bitter Experience As A Doctor Today by Boss13: 8:36am On Dec 27, 2015 |
otokx: EXCUSE ME PLEASE. They don't treat for free. I go there. The healthcare system is even expensive, but the healthcare workers, first, understand their duties and priorities - which is to provide excellent healthcare. They show deep interest in wanting to see you better. They follow up with phone calls to find out if you are ok. They simply care and when I discuss our healthcare system in Nigeria with them, they are horrified. For those doctors, maybe they are too young or have been deceived by their senior colleagues, I wish to remind them that they are the ones holding our healthcare system from improving. |

My simple advise to you @ OP is leave social media and face your work. Or simply leave the medical profession if you prefer the social media. It's obvious you did nothing. There was an emergency and you still had time to run outside and buy and load a recharge card when you know that time is of the essence in such a situation. Or you do not know? I am a first aid officer and when faced with such a situation I know to focus on the victim while calling instructing others around to call the emergency services. What kind of a doctor ignores dying patients? I shake my head at how terrible the humans in the medical profession in Nigeria can be with all kinds of lame excuses. You didn't know what to do @ OP. Simple. You wasted all those years in medical school learning nothing, hence your first challenge you couldn't handle. You expected sympathy. You just exposed your ignorance and lack of skill. May God have mercy on your tormented soul because you know your actions were wrong. Five minutes is a long time in an emergency. 3 Likes |
