Senator Aisha Alhassan has lost the battle to claim the Taraba state Government House today as the Court of Appeal, sitting in Abuja upturned the verdict of the election tribunal and ruled that the method of nomination of a candidate should not be one of the grounds for disqualification for the election as stated in the constitution and the electoral act. http://www.pmnewsnigeria.com/2015/12/31/breaking-news-alhassan-loses-taraba-battle-appeal-court-backs-ishaku/ 50 Likes 8 Shares |

APC straight to the supreme! I hope the PDP supporters will be happy with this and Fayose will have no reason to accuse GMB of interfering the appellate verdict. Very nice outcome from the appeal court. PDP member is meant to challenge whatever happened within the party, not APC. 58 Likes 3 Shares |

The Chairman of the Taraba State Governorship election Tribunal and all its members should be investigated immediately...!!! They should also be suspended by the NJC or the President of the Court of Appeal for contravening section 140(2) of the Electoral Act ...!!! 60 Likes 6 Shares |

Good Riddance by the appeal court.. I had hope for an end to this era of incongruent governorship elections all over the nation. Those who desired for a female governor in Nigeria should wait, we are gradually getting there 4 Likes |

This is a huge sigh of relief to all lovers of democracy and Justice. What happened at the tribunal should put fear in our hearts. Imagine where Judges stand the law on its head and rewrite the laws on the spot. Thank God the Judiciary is still the last hope of the common man. This is not about Mama Taraba or Ishaku. It is about our laws prevailing and being sacred. CharlesPhc: Honestly my brother! Mama Taraba was the Chief Registrar of the FCT High Court at a time and she peddled a lot of influence and had the most controversial stay in office before departing in very controversial circumstances to run for Senate. The Tribunal was shifted to Abuja, her turf, and the members played and danced to her bidding. The NJC should do the needful to save our Judiciary. PMB should also begin to understand the calibre of people he works with. I shook my head when he was vouching for his. Ministers yesterday at the Presidential Media chat. Such political naivety. 30 Likes 4 Shares |
