Of course....the question is being asked because APC won the last election, and because PDP got its funding for the last election by rather foul means.(Sour grapes). ![]() But, brushing that point aside, the issue raised by this question is that there is no clear law on how elections should be funded in Nigeria. Right now,we do not have any idea about what the law says about funding elections in Nigeria. We have no idea on funding limits, whether names and sources of funding should be mentioned, and so on. So, we can safely conclude that there should be a campaign law for Nigeria....defining the max amount of funds a party can raise, whether donors should be disclosed or not, and penalties for exceeding such limits. Some food for thought for our National Assembly in this 2016. |

@OP, you did good asking the question who funded APC, I did fund APC just like other Nigerians too that called a short code and donated their money to PMB campaign. And, I am sure you read about a old woman that donated #1,000,000. Now that you have an idea of where the funding emanated from, keep digging 2 Likes |

Weda it is lopsided or not, let this man fight corruption. As for who funded APC, I was a presiding officer in one village in IMO state, Despite the fact that PDP were sharing money in both Gubernatorial and presidential, and APC to my knowledge sharing almost none, few people voted for PMB cos Jonathan refused to give them second Niger bridge and did almost nothing for them while many voted for Rochas simply because of the free education he gave to their children. So u just need propaganda sometimes. APC spent money but they used more of propaganda. Even if na Tinubu and Amaechi bankrolled them in the south. I personally believe what funded APC campaign is the poor performance of Jonathan during his 6 years of administration. 2 Likes |

signature2012: Why asking? Did you not read in the news then that: 1. A widow gave her N10,000 pention, 2. A todler gave his N120.00, and 3. Market women in oweri contributed N100,000? But wait o, all these add up to N120,120.00. This is not enough to buy fuel for Amechis junketting all over the country then. Which means the real financiers were hiden. APC hmmmmmm. |

superpundit: We know that the common wealth of Nigerians was used to finance Buhari's election, but we consider it a capital investment! The end will justify the means in this case. All we ask in return is for Buhari to sustains the fight against corruption, create a sane environment for us so that Nigeria can come out of this doldrums! Our grievance is that PDP has been making Nigeria worse off after enjoying this kind of privilege for ages, they should be made to pay for it. 1 Like |

It is not a secret how Buhari campaign was funded. How ever, what does that have to do with the ongoing probes of how the national treasury was looted. Anyone who have something to say about how the campaign was funded through illicit money should come out and tell the public. Nigeria is going through a repair work, if you know anything that is technically faulty in any part of the body polity of the federal republic of Nigeria, say it out now so we will be able to get it fix. I am now challenging the O P to says whatever he knows about how Buhari campaign was funded. 1 Like |

See no one is calling anyone a saint o, but let's use our brain and be patriotic. Former head of states were given things according to what the constitution says. So not just Buhari. Let him fight corruption. We can criticize his other policies but criticizing his fight against corruption is Anti-Nigerian. |

ShowYourCertificate:Obasanjo didn't lose in his war against corruption despite its clear lopsidedness. Someone like me supported Obj's anti corruption fight even though I maintained that he has a moral burden himself. Like Gani (of blessed memory) said to critics, don't bother about whether Ribadu was pursuing against Obj's political opponent. The question should be "are they corrupt or not?". He was like a father to Ribadu despite acknowledging the lopsidedness. His immoral third term bid didn't invalidate his corruption fight. Well, saying I'm becoming Buhari's sycophant is inappropriate. I will always side what I believe is a better deal for Nigerians. Never been a GEJ sycophant nor any politician. I support 100% the fight against corruption, and still recognise that Buhari has a moral burden on him that may either make or breake him if he doesn't address it. 1 Like |

You can as well ask my ancestors who funded Buhari's three previous shot for the number one seat or better still, ask us who funded Obama's and David Cameron's presidential campaign because they were in the opposition as at the time of their respective elections. You don't have a valid arguement but a mere kettle logic... |

I begin to wonder why this type of unreasonable question should arise;party as a political party will have ways of generating fund.if we are not aware of any donation to PMB candidacy campaing we are aware of an old woman who donated her life saving to PMB during campaign and on like that;also party could fund their candidate through forms sold to respectives candidates who are interested in one political office or other.I don't know why how political Parties funded their candidates should be bug to some people.there are other things you can do nboh! 1 Like |
