Sadiq is not yet a starting forward. He started a cup game. Clubs test some of their youths in Cup games.

I personally watched him play and score against Chievo Verona in a league match, his prior goal which earned him this start was a cup tie. Like i said he is a breath of fresh air for Roma since Totti is injured and Dzeko is not at top form. I wouldnt stick my neck out for a guy i never saw.

I would personally be ashamed to say this. You sit down in your room with 10mb free data (maybe) mocking a 19-year old boy you could probably father if you grew up in the north. The boy does not know that you exist. He wines and dines with some of the biggest stars in World Football today.

The joke is actually on you, no offence.
mocking? It is obvious you don't understand my post.

I don't know why some of guys think there is nothing special about playing time. Wining and dining with some of the biggest players will not authomatically turn you to a big star, we all want Iheanacho to be one of the biggest stars that other young players would love to dine with. Playing regularly and showcasing skills you acquired in training will do. Training is very important and regular playing time is important too. This is January, man city can loan him out to a quality team for regular playing time if Pelle thinks he is too young for his team.

And am I old enough to father a 19yr old kid? NO. I am presently in my early twenties. Unless it is possible for a 2yr old kid to impregnate a woman.

That is what i have been trying to say. If he can go untill may as the starting striker he would have to go in our pool of established young players like Success and Moses.

Still waiting for the GoodJoe to come explain what happened with Hernandez. That was the perfect response to those who think playing time is not important to the performance of a footballer. Even outside the football world, it is a known fact that one gets better in what he does frequently. Iheanacho staying at city will not help his development. He has a lot to prove after learning from the best, playing alongside the best players at city. His recent interviews will tell you the boy is eager to do just this. A student cannot keep learning forever. He's got to be pragmatic and creative with knowledge. What's the use of knowledge when it cannot be applied?

How old was this guy (Sterling abi wetin be that his name) before he became a regular and outshined Victor Moses. Especially when they knew all of them where World Cup bound? What about Jordon Ibe and Dele Ali?

These guys were prepared right from time for their national teams.

Nacho's agents must think twice.

You mention 3 British Citizens who have all opted to play for England, people who started from proper academies in England and are products of same academies, people who ave been exposed to pro-football and the processes since they could kick a ball.

Does Kelechi have same benefits? No, he doesn't. He's arguably one of less than five teenage African kids who are fully home grown making waves in Western Europe currently. Compare him to people of similar circumstances

Anyway, there are rumours of a loan move to West Ham.....but these are just rumors

I wasn't even thinking about the national team when I made my comments. I was more concerned about personal development. But national team involvement is also important as you have rightly said. How does a good player get rated enough to merit a call up to national team when he doesn't have game time. Remember that it was Iheanacho's man of the match performance in a cup game in which he went the entire duration that earned him his one and only call up to the national team. He wasn't even on the initial list. He was a late addition after that performance.

I rate Nacho above these guys.
Because if Nacho where given the kind of support those players got uptill today. He would have become better, but I still rate him above all of them.

What I wanted to say was that if he where of the British origin, would they still have treated him the same way he is today?

Nigerian winger Moses Simon scored a brace for Gent in their 5-0 win over German second division side FC Würzburger Kickerson Friday.

Simon who recently wedded his sweetheart Ibukun in Ibadan last year scored his first goal of the encounter in the 61st minute after waltzing through the Kickers' defence for his side's third goal.

Siasia Tips Eagles For CHAN Glory

By Bamidele Boluwaji:
National U-23 Eagles Coach, Samson Siasia has tipped Home Eagles as one of the favourites to win the 2016 Championship For African Nations (CHAN) billed to hold in Rwanda from January 16, Completesportsnigeria.comreports.

The Home Eagles who are expected to depart South Africa on January 16 for the tournament played a 1-1 draw with Angola in a friendly match played on Wednesday ahead of the tournament.

Speaking from his base in the United States of America, Siasia said camping in South Africa will help the team to prepare well for the tournament.

While praising the coaches' efforts in preparing the players for the tournament, Siasia said Nigeria has the quality to win the tournament.

“Camping in South Africa will help the team because the players will be out of distraction and that will go a long way in helping the coaches and team concentrate on what to do,” the ex-Super Eagles coach told Comple tesportsnigeria.com.

"I think the coaches have been doing a lot since the camp started, and I can tell you that I believe so much in the team and sure that they will not disappoint," Siasia reiterated.

"The friendly matches they are playing should not be taken or seen as a win at all cost, but avenue for the coaches to put the team in proper shape ahead of the tournament.

"I believe in the ability of the players and their commitment. There are quality players in the team and I am sure that they will not disappoint in Rwanda.

Siasia however urged the players to ensure they remain focused and don’t underrate their opponents in Rwanda.

Nigeria will play Niger, Tunisia and Guinea in the first round of the tournament.

Alex Iwobi Set To Leave Arsenal on Loan
Biyi Akangbe

Super Eagles forward Alex Iwobi has been linked with a move away from Emirates stadium, with Reading FC being a likely destination.

According to a report on Daily Mail, 19-year-old Iwobi is in talks with Arsenal for a possible move to Madejski Stadium, home ground of Reading.

Iwobi, the nephew of Nigeria legend Jay-Jay Okocha, has represented England at under 16, 17 and 18 levels but opted to play for Nigeria, the country of his birth.

After his debut against Congo DR in a friendly game, Iwobi committed his future to the Super Eagles and hopes for a long career.

The 19-year-old also revealed he’s looking to follow in the footsteps of his uncle and former Nigeria captain Austin Jay-Jay Okocha.

The Lagos-born youngster had set his sights on breaking into Arsene Wenger’s first team squad after penning a new deal with Arsenal last year.

He has played five times for the Arsenal’s first team this season, including in the 5-1 defeat by Bayern Munich in the Champions League last November.

Nigeria U23 star Oghenekaro Etebo says he is moving to Europe

by Samm Audu
Nigeria U23 star Oghenekaro Etebo has revealed he is set to move to Europe this month, but refused to name the club he has reached an agreement with.

“This January I will move to Europe, everything has been agreed, but I won’t disclose the name of the club yet,” he said.

On Thursday, the Warri Wolves midfielder was named CAF Most Promising Talent after he finished top scorer at the recent U23 AFCON in Senegal with five goals.

Warri Wolves have placed a 2 million Euros price tag on the player even though this has since been reviewed downwards.
Several Tunisian clubs including Esperance are reportedly willing to break the bank to sign Etebo.

Two years ago, he underwent trials at Italian club Sampdoria, but a knee injury eventually scuttled the transfer.

He is the only player i ever noticed u give a thumbs up to, this same Ighalo u say is in a blazing form is the one u said wasnt there yet.
I never said Sadiq was better than anybody. Dzeko had gone over 1000 minutes with only 3 goals while in 2 games(1 sub 1 start) he has scored twice, what would u do if u were the coach? For now he will be their starting CF and i am impressed.

My friend u said Taiwo Awoniyi was nt on same planet with Ajayi, mayb jst bc Ajayi was a 3SC player and Awoniyi then jst signed for Liverpool and loaned to Eintranct Frankfurt. I was only proving to u in that argument that Ajayi was more suited than Awoniyi as d main striker of that U23. U can judge from the performances of d two strikers in dat CAF U23 tourney

See the mistake u guys make is to underate youth players from the NPFL. Sooner or later u guys will find out that many of those Europe groomed players are nt much better than the NPFL youth players. Players like Etebor, Sokari, Okechukwu, Dimgba and Etor may b better than all the likes of Solanke, Sadiq Umar et al . Even Kelechi Iheanacho will have to up his game to break into d starting 11 of that team as u may know that Sokari & Etebor play similar roles as Iheanacho.

And yes Ighalo is in a blazing form and he took d world by surprise. I am sure at 3-4 months ago u wouldnt have thought that Ighalo would have scored 14 goals by half of the season. However, i would still nt rate him as among the best strikers in d world yet. Lets see him sustain this form to d end of d season and or mayb play in Manunited(as being rumoured) and still maintain that goal scoring form.

U implied I am in d habit of putting the "nt yet there" tag on our young players. I rather see it as u guys being too quick to hype young players. A player scores 2 goals in 2 appearances for AS Roma and next thing " he has replaced Dzeko", "he should b invited to the Super Eagles", "he should be in Rio". Plus all the Hype on Awoniyi and Iheanacho. I am nt taking anything away from these young lads. My wish is for them to become super stars bt the thing is we are always too quick to rate them as Super Stars.

Many young African players end up like "a flash in the pan". They only do well as teenagers and feassle out when it matters most.
I have been following youths football keenly since the mid 1980s so I know what I am talking abt. I have learnt that MOST promising talents dont end up living up to expectations.

Nigeria goalkeeper Dele Alampasu has said he hopes to play more games in the new year after he debuted for Portuguese club Feirense in a 1-0 win over hosts Famalicao in a League Cup game.

That's one of the reason why successes recorded Nigerian teams at youth levels are not being transformed to the senior team ...

Where are the like of Sanni Emmanuel, Chrisantus etc..!

Imagine Gambo Mohamed was being coerced to sign for a Vietnam club !

IMO nothing bad in Musa Yahaya moving to 2nd division Portugues club. After all Taiwo Awoniyi is currently at a 2nd division German club, Arsene Wenger is abt to Offload Alex Iwobi to Reading-an English championship club, Chuba Akpom also plays in the championship.
If that move will guarantee Musa Yahaya good playing time and opportunity to develop, better for him. The thing is even if he signs for the likes of Real Madrid, Barcelona, or the English giants they may send him to their youth teams and after wards loan him to lower sides in any part of Europe for him to gain game time.

Musa Yahaya is a good player. And I want to believe it wont take long before the bigger clubs come for him. He jst needs to do his thing in that 2nd division club.

So I am happy for Yahaya. A good step to me.

Actually, Pellegrini has been under pressure from man city fans to field Iheanacho. It became necessary when Sunderland and Bournemouth approached City to have him on loan for the rest of the season and this was turned down. City is trying to fend off interest from other clubs.
