one of the ways to be recognized is doing things in a different way. Yahaya should have make him take the oath of office in his kitchen. if faleke doesn't like it, let him choose either river NIGER or the lagoon depending on where he is when the news get to him. if he is Lagos, d lagoon will save him some stress but if he is in Abuja, he can do with river NIGER. |

He should go and rise up against the Governor and see if that his coconut head wont be divided into two places.Ebira people are over excited for this opportunity they have gotten to rule the state and i think Falake/ Wada cases against the Governor would have been long forgone if they were to be physical confrontation.Leave the young man to enjoy the victory God has given him while it last. |

So! What was wrong with the location? The swear-in can be conducted anywhere so far the right officials were present! |

Nice one Governor Yahaya Bello! Mr OP please quote the section of the Constitution that expressly states the venue for swearing in of a deputy governor. Moreover, the state house of assembly screened and confirmed him. So where he is sworn in is irrelevant. He can be sworn in in the toilet so far the state house of Assembly has cleared him. |

Re: Achuba Sworn-In At Yahaya Bello's Home by VEE2010(m): 10:29pm On Feb 10, 2016 |
I don't see anything wrong with any elected/selected govt official taking an oath of office any where. The constitution did not stipulate a particular venue for such occasion. What matters is the acceptance or approval of such individual by the appropriate authority (house of assembly). Even in the US, recall, President Nixon took an oath of office while on air. This happened immediately after J.F.Kenedy was assasinated. Traditionally, one would have thought of allowing the plane to land before any swearing in. However, a govt that will perform will do so irrespective of the venue the officials were sworn in. I'm expecting the people of Kogi to set a feasible agenda for their newly sworn in officials rather than duelling on issues with no practical impact to the development of the state. |
