These are Myths and Folklore's. These was never Sango or whatever.

Btw is it not the same Ooni that goes kneeling before Tinubu and Obasanjo to be nominated and installed as ooni. He should read his history books if his father did not.

Sango is a myth but Jesus or Mohammed were real.

See another brain washed African.

In our land, Shango, Ogun Oya, Oba, etc are all men with flesh and blood that lived and they did extraordinary things.

Any proof to counter that? Perhaps a clip of the attendance register?

Oba is the word for King in the Yoruba language of contemporary West Africa Nigeria. Kings in Yorubaland are known as Obas, for example Oba Sijuade of Ile ife, Oba Aromoralan of Ijeshaland, Oba Adeyemi of Oyo, Oba Eriediewa of Benin. The Benin people adopted the word from the Yoruba. The Benin word for King is Ogie or Ogiso changed to Oba when Eweka l son of yoruba prince Oranmiyan came to the throne in Benin.

Hope you can see that the Bini man is lying when he says the word 'Oba' is indigenous to the Bini kingdom

see mofo oh,your mama must have been telling your folktores, really, biafran captured Benin, chai Benin don suffer, only once have Benin been captured in its 800 years history, and that was in 1897 by the British army,so please ehhnn biko stop blasphemy,Yoruba didn't stop Biafra,it was Nigeria that stopped it.Even Benin play its role when biafra food supply was closed they were coming to smuggle food,in order to know if the were igbos we gave them some set of words to pronounce if they were Igbos we chopped their heads off,am ashamed of what we did to the Biafra's in that war,so I wonder which Benin u were talking about.Am no historian but I know the history of my people damm well.so stop spreading rediculus history, even my father was active in the civil war,Biafra capturing Bini is laughable
You must really be dumb or just being silly if you don't know that the Biafran army captured and occupied Benin city during the mid west invasion, before they were beaten back in Ore on their way to Lagos. The federal army finally evict them from Benin and the entire mid west and chased them all the way to Onitsha .

I think these Bini people just thrive on lying about everything. They're notorious/repulsive liars and have been like that since time immemorial. Go check all the fables they told the medieval European explorers about conquering kingdoms they never conquered and no proofs whatsoever of being conquered by anyone.

Basically, the loophole they use most times for their revisionism, is by tying the beginning of Yoruba history with Oyo - and not Ife. Once you deny them that since Oyo and the Oba dynasty in Bini branched out from the same tree and make it about Ife, based on timeline - they always have nowhere to hide.

They can't claim that Bini is older than Ife - impossible. Even the knowledge of the artworks they're known for is a corrupted version of the amazing Ife artworks, since Ife arts were based on realism, while Bini arts were based on finesse. And they did borrow a few things from Owo as well. They worship Yoruba gods. Heck, almost everything that makes them tick came from Yorubas.

The name "Oba" alone should tell any sane person that the crown is of Yoruba origin.

Ancient times Benin was invaded by igbo groups that whybthey built moats ...to protect themselves

In modern day the biafrans over ran Benin in less than 24 hours

Google Midwest invasion pls

I taught Oduduwa fell from the sky ??

These people are only confused. Doing the days of Oduduwa, Oromiyan, Eweka and the rest, non of them ever think nor claim Oduduwa came from Bini. In fact, they were clueless of who Oduduwa was. If Oduduwa had really come from Benin and his grand son is needed to be a King, would he chang his title? NO. Oduduwa WASN'T IN ANY WAY A LINEAGE OF BENIN LAND and his grand Prince cannot use a strange land kingship title. THAT'S WHY THEY NEED TO START ANOTHER LINE BECAUSE ANOTHER RACE IS TAKING OVER. now to those that claim OBA is a Benin word, how come Oromiyan that had no understanding of their language choose that nane.? Everyone knows Oba is the overall title for Yoruba kings but these kings need to use their home land title and abandon the title "Oba" and since Benin wasn't a Yoruba land then, Oromiyan had to use mere "OBA OF BENIN" THE BEEN BORROWED HAS HE HAD KNOWN RULERS AS OBA IN YORUBA LAND and start another kingdom which make it a subject to his father's EMPIRE. That's why the Benin kings needed the blessinfs of ooni of Ife (I don't think they still do it.) during their coronation just as a child will need his parents\boss prayer during marriage \freedom.

It was later that some folks thinking how Yoruba has much effect on their kingdom that make them claim Oduduwa must have come from Benin which is a. Complete spurious.

oh it's junk because you don't know it or it does not suit you. There are many things you can call a Benin man but Liar? You have to be ignorantly ignorant to do that

did you thought all this out on your own? Your imaginations must be extreme. How did you know nobody talked about Oduduwa being a Benin prince, are you a deity? Bae let me try explain small Olokun is one of the children of Osalobua, the others included Oguiwu (aka esu) and the elder sister this is according to the Benin legend Olokun in Benin means master of the sea/river. This legend predates IZODUWA aka Oduduwa.

Omo is a Benin word from time. Oba is also a Benin Word. How will they speak yoruba in the palace that's hogwash even a conquered kingdom won't do that because it takes YEARS to learn a language http://www.edofolks.com/html/osahon_ogiso_dynasty.htm

Did I hear you say Oba and Omo are Benin words sir? When did Benin start using the word Oba sir? Even long before the advent of Oduduwa, Yoruba have been using the word Oba for kings/rulers. Sentiments apart, some things should not even be argued about. The whole world know who owns those words. Those words are borrowed words by Benin. I'll like you take a look at these pictures:
