australian navy HMAS Darwin seizes huge weapons haul (almost 2000 AK-47 assault rifles) from Somalia-bound fishing boat Australian sailors have seized a large weapons cache, including almost 2000 AK-47 assault rifles, from a fishing vessel in the Middle East. HMAS Darwin's boarding team intercepted the fishing vessel about 300 kilometres off the coast of Oman and found 1989 AK-47 assault rifles along with 100 rocket propelled grenade launchers, 49 machine guns, spare barrels and mortar tubes hidden under fishing nets in the dhow. @henry240,IDK why my posts aren't appearing! Its very annoying;do smth! Guys,try to stick to the proper terminologies:a Shaldag is an interceptor not a patrol boat. Here is a common example.  Neither is this a patrol boat but a harbour security vessel. kikuyu11: The error probably is from your network. I'm not the webmaster. The ship in that photo is an LPC (large patrol craft), it's not an interceptor either. That's a Bangladeshi 62 meters ship. On the light trainer aircraft developed by Nigeria, Kaduna — The Air Force Institute of Technology (AFIT) has designed and developed a light trainer aircraft codenamed "FARAWA 2". allafrica.com/stories/201408061093.html Unfortunately there are currently no public images available. However the FARAWA 2 is intended to replace the Air Beetle as the primary trainer of the air force. It is also designed to carry out ISR missions as a secondary role. DICON fals were retired because mission requirements made them unsuitable for the Nigerian soldier. AKs were only recently introduced just over 12 years ago. |

Henry240: Is FN FAL atleast being used as a semi-automatic sniper/support battle rifle? AK-47 is inferior in accuracy, would't surprised if civilians get killed by soldiers in a crossfire due to lack of accuracy. Ask Israle, produce Galil ACE. 2 Likes |
