OP, If you have short memories, others don't. I remember fuel selling for N400 last year April when practically almost all business from banks to telecoms to airlines shut down operations.

And that happened under the leadership of Diezani that you're singing her praises now.

In a way you might be right. She did it better than two men by making us buy fuel at record price in history of Nigeria.

Jonathan's only problem was his indebtedness to many people because his government was filled with round pegs in round holes. His desire to have a second term made him turn a blind eye to many cases of corruption. He didn't want to offend anybody but ended up offending everybody.

When he went hard on Boko Haram, Northern Elders accused Ihejirika of genocide. (Remember: An attack on BH is an attack on the North)
When he went soft on Boko Haram and allowed the Northern Elders to fix their issues locally, they accused him of cluelessness and insensitivity.

Paradoxically, Nigeria is best governed by a military man like Buhari who doesn't care about making people happy, rather who just does what he feels like.

Are you sure you understand what you wrote? A nation not being corrupt is everything in governance. It is just like saying, "if not for Nigerian Breweries not turning a profit, the company would have been ok". Then what is the point of having the company in the first place? Nigerians and English is like oil and water; they don't mix.

Yes, i understand that corruption is a general problem in this country. But don't make it look like a Jonathan thing; the corruption in Buhari's govt so far may even surpass that of Jonathan.

See How the WOMAN in Diezani Alison-Madueke Was Portrayed by a Nigerian Fan!!! He says, "What two men cannot do; one woman did it, put extra"!

I have always said and hold it strongly that the Nigerian female is far far far more intelligent and stronger than their male counterparts. Look at the cut off marks for schools. Despite relegation of females in our society, the cut of mark for females is either higher or the same as that for the males in most states.
Now compare how our females win the females nations cup and compare how our men cannot even qualify.
Then we do not have male equivalents of Blessing Okagbare. All individual medals at the Olympics, I believe the women have given them to us save for a few
Then look at the world bank. I believe we have over 3 females who have risen to that enviable position. The men, despite all the push, very few are rated in that top organization.
Yes I heard Senate and all refused to consider women the equal of men. But me I remember well all my many many many female classmates who are so so so much more intelligent than I am and I have no shame at all in saying I DO NOT BELIEVE THE NIGERIAN MALE HAVE ANY ADVANTAGE OVER THE NIGERIAN FEMALE. My papa know book, my mama know book. My cousins know book. So nothing you want tell me about woman wey I never use my eye see.
Finally, Dieziani know book pass Kachikwu and Buhari put together. Check the score board or rather fuel queues. or maybe na Buhari head dey draw Kachikwu go back? Maybe Dieziani was allowed to do what she knows and bring fuel while Buhari is a BULL in a China shop (use of the cattle/bovine imagery BULL intended)
Bull in a China shop hahahahaha. Sometimes I impress myself. Bull in a China shop. I heard he is going to China on wednesday and he may go to a shop. how apt. hahahahaha
Dieziani, our most beautiful. God punish cancer.

Nonsense post, I to endure the hardship now and save my children future than to allow one woman to embezzle the future.

I disagree with you.
Splash the money let the people have fuel.
Splash the money let the cattle herdsmen stop the killing of vilagers
Splash the money so that people in Abuja can afford to buy 'point and kill' with beer at weekends
Splash the money so that economy can boom.
When GEJ was saying let us save for the rainy day; it was APC Govs like Oshiomale, Amaechi and AregbeRascal that were shouting 'share the money, share it now, give us our own, dont save for us, we dont want any sovereign wealth fund blablabla. Now Buhari is blaming PDP for not saving much when the price of crude was high.
First of all, there is no money to splash any more bro...

Secondly, it's a foolish thing to splash money indiscriminately; with all the money GEJ splashed around indiscriminately instead of building strong foundations, what happened when the money stopped coming?.... Every single economic progress disappeared in a flash, most ignorant people attribute this crash to PMB taking over but that is just the height of ignorance. Within the last 6-7 months of GEJ (when this oil money stopped coming), the Naira crashed from 160-220 to $1, CBN forex reserves crashed by $10bn in 6 months (from $38bn to $28bn), the much touted high GDP growth rate nosedived from over 6% to 2.3% (lowest since 1999), FG had to borrow to pay salaries, FG couldn't pay petroleum importers their subsidy arrears leading to the worst fuel scarcity in Nigerian history in May 2015 (it was so bad that even banks had to close business for days) etc etc.

All the above happened because some people thought it was a wise thing to squander money. That's why GEJ enjoyed the largest oil revenue than any other Nigerian leader but he turned out to be about the only president to have left office with depleted national savings. Thousands of meaningful contracts were awarded by his regime but contractors being owed leading to abandoned projects all over the federation (GEJ hardly completed any projects he started, he awarded many and was praised for the plenty contract awards, but these projects were all eventually abandoned at infancy cos funds weren't available any more). The money splashed on those untouchable petroleum importers could have built a single mega refinery which could have released Nigeria from the shackles of fuel scarcity for life. GEJ should have been the best Nigerian president judging by the revenue at his disposal, but he squandered the opportunity because of this your very crude line of reasoning above which encourages spending without thinking. No offence intended but sometimes I wonder how old some of you who make these type of comments are.

Regarding saving money in the ECA, governors led by Amaechi asked for their own right to the ECA funds. Amaechi is just one man, as at the time, there were more than 20 governors of the PDP who also clamoured for this money so it is pointless to say it is Amaechi or Oshiomole. Secondly, out of the shared $20bn, the states only took away 45% while the FG retained up to 55% amounting to over $11bn. So kindly tell us if by your logic, it was also Amaechi and Oshiomole that squandered the 55%?

ANYTHING can be bought with money; after splashing N2.13Trillion on petroleum importers in 2011 alone, even the devil himself couldn't have stopped fuel from being available in those locust years. The situation has changed today; there is no money to splash around and the people in authority aren't willing to splash money (even if there was).

Don't worry you'll see those figures concerning this government in a couple of months.. The marketers are already having fun and a filled day..
The present fuel scarcity is due to fuel importers holding the FG by the balls. Unfortunately, even if the FG decides to succumb to the pressure, there is no money to even settle the importers.

Unfortunately, there is a problem today cos even the little funds to 'settle the boys' isnt available any more.

u r really grounded n abreast with wat happened in nigeria, cant agree less.
obvious fact, to add to this the northerners and some other corrupt guys knew if jonathan escape n is given a second chance so many things would hv been exposed so they fought tooth n nail to deny him reelection.
see what happened yesterday, icao president came visiting, he scored nigeria aviation high interms of facilities, infrastructures n man power. meanwhile this is d same sector nigerians villified gej n stella oduah.
last week I saw obasanjo commissioning some facilities at university of maiduguri n I asked myself did buhari did this in his short period in office or if not buhari can a state govr use state funds to build federal university?
if not, then who did this? the same man shettima always criticise negatively anytime he is given attention, jonathan.
