The only mistake Lvg did on sunday was playing Young as a forward but even then, Young isn't a winger to begin with. He was mostly used either as a second striker or wing forward at Aston Villa and even his attributes (off the ball movement, Noses for goals, drifting in etc) point that he's a forward, only that he has never led a line but he still regarded as a forward whether on the wing or as a second striker which was his best position by the way while he was at Aston Villa.

Anyone could have made the mistake on Depay.
He was raved as the best talent since forever in the dutch league, hence, no one is to know if he would be a "Suarez", "Robben", "Dirk Kurt"or "Ryan Babel". Even Bayern were rumoured to have been interested in him before they got Coman from Juve.
That said, Lingard, Varela, Rashford may not be best talent out there but they are decent enough and their basic football style (off the movement, quick linkup play, awareness and work rate) fit into Lvg's style other than the likes of Mata who are sluggish, slow and has poor work rate not to mention that they are quite average too.
All Lvg need is an upgrade on these players in the summer.
If he could get Lasana Diarra to replace Carrick in the holding midfield, for the main time till a better young player like Dortmund's Weigl becomes available or the young Regan Poole eventually matures for the role.
Get Pjanic for the creative midfield role.
Ousmane Dembele for the right wing.
A right back and an experienced central defender to partner Tofu Mensah in the defence.
I don't think the team needs anymore strikers because I'm quite sure the likes of Rashford, Martial, Rooney and even Depay who's decent in the striker role, can all score goals if provided with plenty of chances per game. What has been lacking in the team is creativity..

Martial has been vastly outperformed by Vardy, Lukaku, Dele Alli, Harry Kane, Odion Ighalo, etc...despite being either the best 19yrold, u-21, or u-25 in the league depending on which mumu you're speaking with at that particular time

Heck even in one of Chelsea's worst seasons ever, despite flirting briefly with relegation, and missing several games due to suspension and injuries, Diego Costa still managed to outperform the new Thierry Henry.

Fernadinho is equal to Motta but not greater. What Motta lacks from Fernandinho (Strength), he makes it up with creativity and skills.
Silva is better than Moura but for this season I disagree. He's been inundated with injuries that he's no longer the player he once was.

See, this is not even a matter of overrated players or the Emenalo disease spreading across some top clubs. I personally feel these players are good but when they see cash cows like PSG, Utd, Chelsea and co, they feel they have "arrived" and they tend to act lackadaisically. Take a look at Di Maria, he was filled with tenacity and determination while trying to prove a point to Ancelotti/Madrid, but since he got the excess cash from Utd and PSG, he's the ghost of his past. Even though he performed better for PSG than Utd but he's never reached that height of Madrid for PSG. Same thing with Cavani who went from hero at Napoli to zero at PSG. Even Silva was better for me at Milan than PSG.

I don't know who to blame, but I think it might be due to the excess money. But definitely, the scout or whomever is incharge are to blame too.

PSG is better than City THIS SEASON, both in form and otherwise. PSG defense of Silva, Luiz, Marquinhos, Maxwell and Aurier are better than City's. The only dependable City defender to me is Kompany. Dimechelis, Mangala fish and the rest are below average this season. PSG is jinxed mentally. I watched their both legs against Madrid and these ninjas played one of the most breathtaking football I've watched this season. They played with purpose against Shekpe too though their midfield was porous in the return leg. But against City? I don't understand what happened to them. Though Matuidi's suspension and Verrati's injury affected them, Blanc killed their chances with his formation and inability to grow some balls and remove IbrahimoDUMB who had nothing tangible to offer them when the chips are down. Maybe they don't believe in themselves or they have the England syndrome - playing disjointed stars with no team spirit or better understanding.


But fully fit PSG is better than a fully fit City THIS SEASON.
