We live in a country where giving out our resources to other countries to use has become a tradition.

Politicians will steal money and ship it to other countries, those countries will use the money to develop their Cities.

Politicians will divert fuel and send it to other neighboring countries, and those countries never for one day lack supply of fuel, imagine a situation where you go to filling station refill your tank by yourself and pay with your Card.

Politicians will hire foreign lawyers with millions of dollars to exonerate them from being prosecuted of the wealth they acquired off meaningful Nigerians.

Politicians will request the services of foreign expatriate to do the day to day running of our economy.

And I can go on and on, so Mr. kachiku stop wailing unnecessarily as if you don't know what's going down.

We are still waiting patiently for you people, continue

Today it is pipeline vandalism
Tomorrow it is failing refineries
Now it is diverted trucks
Just be giving excuses for his inability to handle the fuel scarcity.
Okay o, soon we will hear truck drivers are now having their trucks stolen.
Different day, different story

As long as there is a substantial gap between the "official" rate for petrol and the market rate, fuel smuggling will continue to thrive, no matter how sophisticated the counter-measures taken against it. Kachikwu knows this as well as anyone, but he'll have to keep pretending otherwise as long as his master in Aso Rock refuses to listen to reason.

Buhari has been urged multiple times now to deregulate the sector and privatize - not least by Kachikwu himself - but he stubbornly insists on doing things the same old way, while expecting the results to be better this time around. As bad as GEJ was, he at least knew better than to constantly second-guess his advisers and ministers.

The utter foolishness of this is staggering. Of course fuel gets diverted to neighbouring countries, you know why? Because the price of fuel in those countries is far higher there than it is here.

Guys, enough with all the foolish debates and ask yourselves three very simple questions. Is there scarcity of Diesel? And if not, why not? Finally, what is the average price of diesel across Nigeria?

The answer to the problem is blindingly obvious, and yet, and yet, it appears that we lack the basic intellectual capacity to grasp the issue and solve it. It's truly does reflect very badly on us all, our staggering inability to solve the most basic of problems. And yes, solving the fuel scarcity problem is actually a relatively simple one to solve.

That isn't the issue at all. The smuggling is to neighbouring countries where the price of fuel is at market rates, and therefore far higher than the subsidised rates of Nigeria. This has always, and will always continue to happen. I think we all know what the solution is, but I guess we communicated our feelings on that solution in 2012. So, lets just be silent and enjoy the consequences of that communication.

I put it to you all that scarcity is here to stay for the rest of the year. Quote me on that. I thought the scarcity was going to end of 7th April?

That some people don't see some truth in what he said is baffling. Let me educate you....

Haven't you noticed that Lagos and Abuja are probably the only states you can get fuel at the approved pump price of 86.50? It is well known that fuel in other states apart from these two is sold for 200 and above. Why this is so is because majority of the filling stations in these states are owned by small marketers who go by the names of "Tolad oil and gas, Damask Petroleum, Ifeanyi Oil, Tunde Petroleum, Mallo Oil etc. while you find more of the presence of the big boys in the names of "MRS, Forte Oil, Mobil, Total, Conoil etc." in Lagos and Abuja. These big boys get their own supply from NNPC while these small marketers get it from these big boys more than 76.50 approved by DPR. Since they buy it at above 76.50 (say 90 naira) how do you expect them to now sell at 86.50. Also factor in transportation cost from Lagos, bribing of police, paying of entitlement fee to omo onile, garage fees, and other cost incurred while transporting the fuel to the hinterlands. Obviously they won't sell at govt. approved price of 86.50 but higher.

Therefore fuel meant for filling stations in Lagos are diverted to other states where they can sell well above the approved pump price (130 and above) because they know the DPR is short of men to conduct checks and balances and may therefore find it hard to visit filling stations in remote areas. Even when DPR officials manage to come, they are bribed to turn a blind eye to their atrocities.

The solution to this sharp practice and price disparity is for government to totally hands off setting of pump prices(total deregulation). You cannot expect fuel to be he same price in Lagos where the ships with the fuel birthed and Borno that it takes almost more than 24 hours to get to from Lagos because of the transportation and associated costs mentioned above. Also, all our refineries must be working at 100 percent capacity so that instead of transporting fuel from Lagos to other States, Kaduna refinery will serve the whole North, Port Harcourt refinery will serve SS and SE while Warri can serve SW AND parts of SS and SE.

NOTE: If any NNPC petrol station doesn't sell fuel in 48 hours in Lagos and 72 hours in other states after they must have sold off the last drop of the last allocation they got, know that the fuel has been diverted.

Tru tok but they want cheap fuel and Buhari's anti- market and anti deregulation are the final straw!!!!!
