Hello people I was wondering if I can apply for 489 visa on family sponsorship for an occupation on the CSOL? I have a capable and willing family member , but my occupation is on CSOL, I was unable to find this information on DIBP website Thanks |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bellong: 2:11pm On Apr 27, 2016 |
zuriel2016: If your occupation is on CSOL list, check the state sponsoring it and apply for 190. It is better than 489. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by zuriel2016: 10:09am On Apr 28, 2016 |
bellong: Its just one state- NT that is sponsoring, thats why I opted for 489 family sponsorship, where I feel sponsorship is more guaranteed. my sponsor lives in WA |

Anyone with a similar case who included a baby dependent can help out here. I just got a request from CO requesting for baby's "polio vaccination certificate"; baby is just over a year old, so has had the OPV taken during one of the routine immunization days. Would a scan of the immunization records booklet suffice as a certificate? Or the certificate has to be from Fatayi-Williams Clinic too? |

Jukeblam, A scan of the government hospital card showing the polio immunisation will suffice. Not compulsory to get from Fatayi Williams. Lovetrust, The process is already explained in the opening posts of this thread. Go back, read and follow the steps. |

Hello my people. My spouse MBA transcript is taking too much time to be available. We have been waiting for 2months now yet is not ready. A transcript was issued to her in November 2005. My concern is if Vetassess will accept the transcript considering the date of issue (2005)? She actually graduated in 2004 from Ambrose Alli University Ekpoma. |

@bellong I have gone through the earliest pages of the thread. thanks. I visited the ICT assessing body website www.acs.org.au. I did not understand some lines. so kindly explain these lines for me with my profile below to see if I am suitable for ACS assessment Age: 33 Qualification: Masters in computer systems 2005 work experience: 1 year sol/csol: eligible occupation: systems analyst ------------------'-'---'-''------------''''-------- ACS Suitability Criteria Temporary Graduate – 485 Skills Assessment This skills assessment can only be used to apply for a subclass 485 visa. Only nominated occupations which appear on the Skilled Occupation List (SOL) are applicable to a Temporary Graduate – 485 skills assessment. You will require to have completed an Australian Bachelor degree or higher with a major in ICT which is closely related to the nominated occupation (ANZSCO) to meet the suitability criteria. Post Australian Study Skills Assessment This application is only if you have completed an Australian Bachelor degree or higher and you would like a skill assessment for migration purposes in general. You will require an Australian Bachelor degree or higher with a major in ICT which is closely related to the nominated occupation (ANZSCO) plus one of the following requirements for a suitable skills assessment: 1 year of relevant work experience completed after the completion date of the relevant Australian degree, or Completion of an ACS Professional Year Program. Post Australian Study Notes: • The skill level requirement date for the Post Australian Study Skills Assessment will be noted as the completion date of the relevant Australian degree. Suitable employment completed after the completion date of the relevant Australian degree will be eligible for points under the skilled migration points test. • Relevant work experience can be overseas experience or experience in Australia for the Post Australian Study Skills Assessment but must be after the relevant Australian degree. Bachelor Degree or Higher with an ICT Major If your degree is assessed as having an ICT major which is closely related to your nominated occupation, you will require 2 years relevant work experience completed within the past 10 years or 4 years relevant work experience completed anytime in your past work history (whichever provides the earliest skill date) to meet the suitability criteria. If your degree is assessed as having an ICT major which is NOT closely related to your nominated occupation, you will require 4 years relevant work experience completed anytime in your past work history to meet the suitability criteria. Bachelor Degree or Higher with an ICT Minor If your degree is assessed as having an ICT minor which is closely related to your nominated occupation, you will require 5 years relevant work experience completed in the past 10 years or 6 years relevant work experience completed anytime in your past work history (whichever provides the earliest skill date) to meet the suitability criteria. If your degree is assessed as having an ICT minor which is NOT closely related to your nominated occupation, you will require 6 years relevant work experience completed anytime in your past work history to meet the suitability criteria. --------'''''''''''--------------------------------''----- |

Good day to all Gurus in the house, please I took PTE-A and could not achieve required score(R69,W83,L74,S59). I did IELTS before and had band 8 in speaking. Is there any advice/material I can get from anyone in the house as I intend to attempt again next week. Please assist. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bellong: 11:43am On May 01, 2016 |
Lovetrust, You have no business with a subclass 485 visa. I can only advise, the ultimate decision lies solely with the assessing authority. ACS likes people to have at least 3yrs experience as they normally cut down on the years of experience. However, your masters degree may give you advantage provided your experience is really system analyst. |

@Tunai, how long did you prepare before you had the test? The PTE Academic test builder by Macmillian is what I'm preparing with right now. It is popular on this thread, if you like to have it let me know. 1 Like 1 Share |

bellong: Thanks for your prompt response@bellong plz do you mean with my masters in computer systems and one year work experience I can still send ACS my documents for assessment notwithstanding the minimum of 3 years work experience prerequisite? secondly, tell me more about Recognition of prior learning for those without a tertiary Institution qualifications but with 8 to 10 years professional experience in their chosen occupation.? thanks |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bellong: 4:32am On May 02, 2016 |
^^^^ Well, there no wrong in trying. I can't categorically say you will get a positive or negative assessment until you submit an application. 2. That is the sole jurisdiction of the assessing authority. Simply means using your experience in lieu of degree by giving you credits for it. |
