Good move by fbnh management. It is best to inform the public and shareholders about what is going on than to wait for it to come out to the public and cause unnecessary panic selling.

Manonamission:

You are the CEO of your portfolio but don't sell in a hurry (word). The market is repricing (key). I would watch the Oil stocks (barometer, and oil itself). At the point where optimism start to diminish, I will become fearful (hint). They got the banks into this mess (word). Oando can't be bullish and the banks that lent money to it be bearish (analogy). If business is good for the likes of Oando, recovery is sure for the likes of FCMB (hints, which is the chicken which is the egg, which comes first). If devaluation is announced (it would be. two tier coming), expect increased optimism in the market (hint, further hint watch historical ASI resisitance and support level for direction). The dollar people grin will want to enter the market (some are in already, others coming). Also keep your radio close by (warning). Anything can happen (ve u ever watched or participate in texas bull riding competition the key is volatility and d danger inherent in it, it could be exciting and killing and the same time) .

Nigeria is losing over N5.4 billion per day due to loss of over 600,000 barrels per day of crude oil production due to militant attacks on oil and gas infrastructures.

“Apart from the immediate cost of the assets and the production losses to operators, it has the capacity to lower the overall investment attractiveness of the country. Something Nigeria doesn’t need at this point,” said Chijioke Mama, energy research analyst

Guys based on prevailing economic conditions and what we are seeing presently in the market, I'm a little confused here. Which would you recommend for entry presently between FBNH, FCMB and UBA. I would have gone with FBNH without hesitation but I'm not sure why FCMB is not full bid and it isn't. Your thoughts would be much appreciated.

Nigeria's naira extended its losses against the greenback on Friday amid a jump in demand for dollars by oil importers and speculation of central bank moves to make the exchange rate more flexible, traders said.
The local currency slipped to 345 to the dollar on the parallel market in early trade, down 1.2 percent compared with the previous day's closed.
"More speculators are taking a position in the market, causing dollar scarcity and fall in the value of the local currency," said Aminu Gwadabe, head of the bureaux de change operators association.

On Wednesday, the Nigerian government said fuel importers were allowed from how on to get dollars from the parallel market to help ease acute shortages - likely to result in increased demand for dollars, and more pressure on the naira, as importers increased their orders. smiley
