@NNBB2012 I read on this thread recently that 70points is the new minimum base point required for ICT professionals opting for Visa 189? How true is this? does it apply to visa 190 if true can you profer other alternatives if true? secondly, if one has a 1year post graduate experience in systems analysis with a masters degree in computer systems ACS requires 2years work experience in ICT major for Bsc or higher qualification. In this light, should the person go ahead and apply for assessment? is it a must that work experience must be assessed if one can meet the 60points required by DIBP from other options that count towards the PR grant? thank you. |

For anyone who is planning to use GT Master for vettasses, make sure you have enough naire in your Acct, I know they deducted 175k from my Acct for vettasses full assessment as at February this year. |

Good evening everyone and thanks to Bellong for helping with this thread... I am about to drop my documents to be assessed by ACS as a programmer and I have been in Australia for a while and when I arrived here I was still employed and still got projects to work on and send back to my office in Nigeria for a period of 9months after my arrival.. Please can I add this period to my job experience? Thanks as I anticipate a reply in advance |

Department of Immigration and Border Protection (DIBP) have released the new Skilled Occupations List (SOL) for 2016-17. This list will come into effect from 1 July, 2016. www.sbs.com.au/yourlanguage/hindi/en/article/2016/05/17/want-migrate-australia-2016-17-skilled-occupations-list-sol-announced though this website has no affiliation with dibp but check appropriately on DIBP or wait till july 1st to see. @tonybunor if you are applying as a programmer for visa 189 do note that the ceiling for your occupation is already 100% and related ICT occupations too. but there are no ceiling for visa 190 but you have to meet up with special conditions by some states like SA south Australia with Adelaide as capital. SA nomination for special conditions is 85points miminum. Dig deeper too to keep abreast with current development. goodluck. thanks to Bellona for this thread cc NNBB2012 and others. |

00francis: Did you do the academic or general. Had a similar result when I did the academic but wrote again to get 8minimum in each band in march here in brisbane. So I'm guessing you could try again and brush up your reading. You could try the PTE if your in naija. If your already in Australia don't even think about it. Cheers and best of luck. 1 Like |

aceBlazer: Its quite possible. My friend whom we came in together on 573 in Feb 2015 got his pr in 11months. He was doing masters in UWS Sydney. I am also enroute. My original certificate delayed my ENgineers Australia assesment since I think have it on me. But in my honest opinion its best you just concentrate and come in here one time on PR. Makes life easy. Its not easy to joggle school/work stress with ielts and pr waka. Plan well. 1 Like |

I submitted a resume with wrong employment date to vetasses advisory service over a year ago but was negatively advised that my qualification did not match with the nominated occupation. I was frustrated by the advice and stop pursuing Australian PR. I am still in thesame role and wants to submit an another application to vetasses advisory services with correct employment date and a related occupation from the former one with small difference in the job description. I performed the duty of the both occupation with a single occupational title but but i am afraid how vetasses might consider the new nominated occupation. When i applied to vetasses advisory service, i only submitted the online application and resume, no further document was submitted. |

Good evening everyone. I'm surprised at vetassess or maybe I am wrong about it however I submitted all my document to vetassess for advise on the 22nd of last month till now no news from them and they said the expected turn around is 20 working days. Should I send them an email or I should give them more time................How long will it take? Please note, due to an unprecedented number of Advisory Service applications received, the expected turn-around time is currently 20 working days....... big brothers who have done this before should kindly share more light on this...... |

malkinburg: It was the general test...I'm in the UK. I'm only looking at PTE because of some posts I've seen on this thread, suggesting it is easier than IELTS. With this your " don't even think about it " statement, I'm confused...why? This question is for everyone in the house, PTE or IELTS, what would you recommended for someone who's trying to clinch the max points for English?... my first IELTS was 8.5, 7, 8, 8.5 - L, R, W, S. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by iceberg54: 6:54pm On May 19, 2016 |
I am doing PTE soon and from my practice so far, i still feel IELTS is easier to clinch the max points. My IELTs was 9,9,8.5,7 - L,R,W,S. And the 7 was largely due to the fact that my interviewer was not a native english speaker and I noticed some difficulties in her myself. I didn't know a lot about Oz PR then so i didn't bother, if i did, would have contested the S. I believe with good practice, you can clinch 8 in reading. I suggest you go through PTE materials amd familiarize yourself with the exam, it will give you an idea of what to expect and help you decide. Maybe when i write PTE and i get the 20 points, i will change my mind Cheers! 00francis: |

00francis: The reason why I said you should not think about the pte if your in oz is because I believe their server or should I say their marking engine is tweaked for the paki/Indian dudes. Yet to see any Nigerian who has scored more than 59 on the speaking here in oz. But people who write from nigeria come off with fatanstic scores. Since your in the UK you could try it out. I believe your problem in the reading is the true false not given or yes no not given. Brush up and do the ielts again. Its way easier in my opinion. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by malkinburg: 5:21am On May 20, 2016 |
Graham355: Bro if your planning to write pte end of June, its not possible to beat the July first deadline for 189, as average wait time for pet engineers is 4 to 6 weeks for invitation after submitting eoi. Other engineering like agric/environmental have reached their occupation ceilings. If I were you I will switch my attention to regional area in NSW as they still sponsor 489 for pet engr in two places last I checked. Pls do confirm. Another way to go about it is to make one of your episodes shitty and don't claim any experience in your CDR. That way you might be given engineering technologist upon positive assesment, which is still on the 189/190 list. So your call. |

Good morning people, I got this email from Victoria Govt. Further to our previous correspondence requesting that you provide us with a skills assessment, we are still waiting to receive this information from you. If we do not hear from you within one week, the Victorian Government nomination application file will be closed. We look forward to your response. Can i ask for extension being the fact that i have not started the process of VETASSES for skill assessment. For how long can i ask extension for? Thanks. |

@Unibadan, Why would you apply for nomination without a skill assessment result? The process/stage cannot be compromised. Withdraw your application and reapply once your assessment is ready. 6 Likes |
