One aboki guards the compound I live and he brought like 6-7 others. 2 of them sleeps in my balcony and they go to work every morning in a nearby market and come home to sleep later in the day( they hardly sleep sef cos they sabi gossip well well). Na God do am for me o. I just moved in last month and it's always "over quiet" at night and I stay on the ground floor compared to the other part of Lagos where I came from where dem no dey go to bed till around 1-2 and you must to hear 1or 2 people moving up and down and I stayed on the second floor there. so I'm really enjoying the bonus that came with the house.

Structural cracks on a residential building.

This is a small investigation carried out by our team on courses and possible solutions to structural cracks on a newly completed building.

Introduction, we visited this beautifully finished five bedroom duplex to investigate the occurrence of cracks on some wall portions of the finished building.

The aim of this investigation was to determine the courses of the occurrence of both vertical and horizontal cracks on a new completed building.
To also prefer an economic, non detrimental to structural integrity and aesthetics of the building.

Note : permission has been taken from the building owner to publish the result of the report and to also upload pictures of the building on the conditions that beam of owner, location of project remain hornamous.

The aim of this investigation was to determine the causes of the occurrence of both vertical and horizontal cracks on a new completed building.

What are the probable cause of the crack?

I'm suspecting soil movement beneath the foundation. Upward pressure if the wall buckles. And I won't leave out the age of the building in the investigation.

When it's rushed and not well compacted, it'll definitely settle and crack is inevitable especially when built on wetlands.
