We Gave You Guy a news of Gov Ambode of lagos state Donating 140 brand new Ford Ranger Pick-Ups & 335 Power Bikes fitted with communication gadgets, Helmets, Bullet Proof vests and other kits all amounting to about 1.4B naira

It didn’t go down too well with senator ben bruce..
He gave Ambode a reply, Commending him for a job well Done but also asked him why he didn’t go for our own innoson motors

Exactly, fraud would be more monumental if purchases are from a foreign country because purchases would be in dollars, especially considering the very wide gap between the official - unofficial exchange rate.

Ironically the jigsaw fits when you consider the recent historical hatred Lagos has developed for the Easterns. From fashola's deportation to the Oba's reckless talk. Ambo wouldn't want to incur the wrath of his political ancestors by doing direct business with Igbos and pumping a potential N1b into the Eastern region's economy

Only in Nigeria will such an act ever make sense. You have an auto manufacturing outfit in the country but a state governor, not a private individual goes to foriegn lands to make his auto purchases for state use with tax payers money. Where else in this world is that possible without the accompanying public outcry?

Dear Ben Bruce.

Innoson Motors are not made in Naija cars. They are assembled just like Nissan, Pegouet in Nigeria.

It's shameful we see Chinese inscriptions on the so called innoson made in Naija cars. Innoson cars are nothing but chinko. Low grade and bad engine. Innoson car is as expensive as a Nissan assembled in Nigeria, so why should I buy Innoson

I think it has to do more with the maintenance cum cost of replacing damage parts.
The above reason in addition to durability.
No one wants to buy a new Innoson car for N3.5m a asked to bring N1.5m to replace a damaged gear box.
Oga Ben should have advised his fellow senator to go the Innoson way instead of their exotic BNWs.
Oga Ben should know it is easier to publish books in Nigeria than publishing his book in the USA so he should stop the hypocrisy of 'Buy 9ja"

Buying naija product is a choice, you can never force an individual or government to do same.

We need to put some factors into consideration when talking about naija products such as, quality, performance, standard, speed etc.

With time ivm will be number one in naija but now hmmm. I am sure senator Bruce and his supporters since the establishment of ivm bought car that are foreign, so why force same on others.

Yes, it is good to buy made in 9ja but do you guys realise that the demand (private and public sector) can be higher than the company output. I remember vividly when Gov Obiano donate some vehicle (Ford) to NPF, the general assumption is that IVM could not met the target of general demand. The real issue should be to encourage more individual to have a vehicle maufacturing company in Nigeria to met the target of Nigeria Market.

And the Easterners love the Yoruba people of Lagos right? You guys should quit this emotional hypocrisy. The governor has a reason for buying those cars from foreign manufacturers. Ben Bruce and tribalist like you doesn't need to paint the governors action in ethnic colouration in other to make your point of promoting made in Nigeria cars.

Besides, when will Ben Bruce start tweeting about the unpaid Bayelsa workers? His home state is on fire and he's busy talking about another state that is doing very well.

Those claiming IVM won't be able to meet demand, why not buy the quantity they can afford and seek the remainder elsewhere? That's not an excuse jor.

With time they will realise the need to buy from home also let IVM produce more spare parts as that's a factor in getting a product....

Are you folks aware that it is not only Innoson that assembles car in Nigeria.

There are some assembling plants situated in Lagos and it'll make more economic sense for the LASG to patronise those ones.

Example Ford is assembled in Lagos backed by Coscharis.

For those supporting Ben Bruce, please upload a picture of your own Innoson car. Thanks.

The Anambra state govt launched some cars some months ago, not a single IVM car was in the picture.
