"This is extremely dangerous. Truth is, planes shouldn't be landing on this runway at all! Pot holes everywhere and they have tried patching the holes with cement, and the runway is made of asphalt. It doesn't make any sense. This is a disaster waiting to happen. I'm genuinely concerned and this needs attention ASAP. Some of the pilots have since refused to fly to Enugu due to the current situation. People's lives are at stake!" she wrote. See more photos after the cut...

Tho I have never been to Enugu International Airport. But if truly this is Enugu International Airport then it's a big slap on our faces. How can an International Runway have so many potholes


Jonathan budgeted so much for the remodeling of this Airport, but the likes of Mrs Stella Oduah and her Aviation Colleagues diverted this monies to their individual pockets.

This is what happens when you give politicians instead of engineers contract. Politicians would be like is it not just to pour asphalt? Is just normal road na, grade, pour sand and pour asphalt.

They would fail to appreciate the technical details. That airport runways have a foundation that is usually rebar reinforced, grooved specailly in a way it sheds water. They wouldnt realise that it has to be several foot thick and laid in layers and each layer allowed to cure for weeks. They wouldnt know that the roughness of the surface is specially engineered to help bring planes to a certain braking speed. No to them it is just a road, they would hire some few equipments and get some workmen that have worked on some few road projects. When you complain and criticise, they would say is because they are from a certain tribe.. Meanwhile if disaster happen and it would definitely happen somday, their own tribesmen would be among the casualties.

That's very minor - although it can spread/deepen.

I remember flying into MMA and seeing a crashed plane by the side of the runway!

Would have thought 'asphalt/tar' is cheaper than cement?

Are you talking about the Enugu seaport?! I don't think there's any airport in Enugu. What Stealer Oduah was referring to was a seaport.

Bush man stop supporting evil, if they did the right thing from the beginning with all those money we won't be talking about MAINTENANCE less than 4 years after.
