riddler4real: It seems the ignorant part of you does not want to make as little research as it will help you. Google is a very inportant tool that i recommend you use often before posting on any social media. The screen shot below shows that the Lagos monorail passes not only the Lagos Lagoon, it also passes another water body between Mile 2 and Festac The second picture is defined as an "underground high level track over water".

aresa: The point is the engineer in me (though I am not of structural discipline) would be happy for someone experienced in this field to enlighten me and anyone else interested on what this picture is showing technically. Of course you may not be interested in that and that's perfectly fine my friend. |

I know sycophants like u, whose integrity cost far less than a subsidised fairly used menstrual pad with stale blood on it from an HIV infected patient.... There is a less than 1000 meters rail bridge which is over the lagoon and the rest of the rail track is laid just by the lagoon side on solid ground. aresa: Why all the cry bro? Na fight? This is not a question of comparison but a question of integrity. The OP like any patriotic concerned citizen wants to know if it's still okay to trust a govt that claimed it used N78 million to build and maintain a WordPress powered website..... Now claiming it will cost over $1 billion to build a metro system of less than 30 km..... I own a website, a full multimedia website like facebook and I am hosting it on a dedicated server, www.naifizzy.com if you know what that means(Dedicated Server)... Ask google.. It cost me less than $1,500 for both the development and hosting with a yearly hosting of $1,600. Now compare and contrast. You see why it is necessary to show concern? 1 Like |

Re: Opinion: Why Is Lagos Light Rail Project Costlier Than That Of Ethiopia? by adanny01(m): 7:38pm On Jun 09, 2016 |
riddler4real: Oh, one olodo to another, i actually thought you were the dumbest and would'nt notice the difference otherwise i should have said the obvious or apologise the typo as meaning metro. Oh congratulations! You've start making some useful research. However, your ignorance has either over shadowed your knowledge or you are not ready to make useful or adequate research thereby subjecting yourself to such wrong intuition. I dont know where or how you got that picture, as an olodo, i would have known that a map such as that should have a scale with which to properly make an estimate of distances in ground. Certainly a crossing of the lagoon cannot be 100m if you had an idea of the size of the lagoon itself or scale of the map from such a small picture. Even as the lagoon is well over 500km from my area of daily commute, i know that the lagoon at its longest side is about 50km and so dealing with such body of water, 100m is not near what is represented in the map you shared. You should have known that "less than 100 meters rail bridge" is actually over 1km. Precisely, 1250m. 1150m over your intuitive "less than 100m". You even had to less it. I am such an olodo! The picture of the bridge in construction is already well over "100m".

Re: Opinion: Why Is Lagos Light Rail Project Costlier Than That Of Ethiopia? by adanny01(m): 7:51pm On Jun 09, 2016 |
riddler4real: Just like you cannot estimate distances, you certainly cannot understand project costing or things that makes up the cost of a project of such magnitude. I would be running a fools errand if i decide to tell you some things even when you obviously are not interest to learn. |

[s] riddler4real:[/s] Learn how to read and comprehend. Dubai spends sovereign wealth fund owned by sovereign UAE like I asserted unlike Lagos state. The Investment Corporation of Dubai (ICD) is a sovereign wealth fund owned by the government of Dubai, United Arab Emirates. Established in May 2006 with the transfer of the government's portfolio of investments from The Department of Finance's Investment Division, its role is to supervise the government's investment portfolio while adding value You lived in Dubai, but still made ignorant, illogical and thoughtless comparisons with Lagos. The fact that you lived in Dubai means Lagos state in Nigerian is a country like Dubai with sovereign wealth and oil wealth like Dubai? Or that it didn't take Dubai 8 years to compete their metro rail? Or that Lagos state metro is more intense and comprehensive than ordinary metro in Dubai? Or did Dubai built 54km expressway with their metro? Did they build 5km metro bridge over any lagoon in Dubai like Lagos is doing? Was any dedicated power plant built for the metro in Dubai? Did they pay the same compensations and settlement over lands and houses in congested area where people live against the desert in Dubai? Is Dubai 's budget as a sovereign country the same like an ordinary state in Nigeria? Is rhe price of labor, manpower, tools and equipment the same in Dubai? Is shipping cost to transport construction materials the same in Dubai. The fact that you lived in Dubai or lied about living in Dubai doesn't mean you don't sound ignorant. If you are going to compare in any way shape or form, common sense dictates that you articulate clearly relevant facts and what each project involves and the cost and variables associated with both projects, It is even pointless , silly and redundant to compare 2 totally different projects in totally different country, totally different environment and wealth.. Very unintelligent on your part and the OP too. 1 Like |

aresa: It is unfortunate that I share the same passport with you. You are a typical example of an educated illiterate. Just take a look at your posts and read what you wrote. Let me educate you more.... Dubai doesnt have a single drop of oil.... The way Lagos gets a large fraction of its wealth from the FG is the same way dubai gets it's wealth from UAE. The way Lagos is to Nigeria is the same way Dubai is to UAE. Both are the largest cities in their respective countries. Both are commercial powerhouse and attracts the most visitors from across the globe. Lagos has been in existence even before Dubai was even globally known. In the 1980's Dubai was just a pile of sands... And a shipping community. Nigeria's GDP(PPP) presently surpasses UAE's..... The major difference is that the govt of Dubai, UAE are sincere with a clear vision of creative governance with integrity, purpose and the greater good of her citizens ..... Unlike Lagos... Just go to youtube that is if you have data... and watch dubai 20 years ago..... You will be shocked. And do you know they came to Nigeria during OBJ's reign as Head of state in the late 70s to request for loan? Nigeria has a larger economy than the UAE....... But we lack creative leadership and selfless governance.... So my advice to you is go back to school and learn and stop making a mess of Nigeria...Hired Sycophant |

The same govt that told the world it used N78 million to build a mere WordPress powered website is telling the world it will cost over $1billion to build a 27km metro project with fairly used TTC ol H5 n H6 15 years old train cars from Canada.
