Dear Gov of Osun state, this is what you get when you did not evaluate implications of your policy on the religious belief of people. You make some religious people to be at the receiving end of your policy at the expense of the other. What it is hijab doing in a school that was founded by a Christian missionary? Surely your Muslim people will never allowed this to happen in their's. This is just the beginning of this Aregbesola-created case, only God knows the end. The state has never been polarized on religion basis as this on the disguise of educational reformation\transformation that skewed in favour of certain religion belief in terms of legacy bequeathed. The Gov needs to sincerely solve this problem. What judgement should someone expect from a Judge who happen to be a Muslim presiding over a case between Muslim and Christian? Both osun state and National CAN should wake up from their slumber. I'm not so sure if the so called national CAN has issued any statement on this issue up till now. Hmm!

What rebellion So one religion will keep tolerating while the other religion feels they are always right. I am not a religion based person but the truth needs to be spoken on this issue. Any form of religious dressing should not be allowed in a public school, they can do that in private school but not public school. Looking at it from another angle, baptist school is a christian founded school so its good for muslim students to wear there apparel but the christian will not be allowed. Can you try this in a school in the north.

If you can wear a hijab, then I should wear a church robe. There's no difference between the two, they are both religious outfits. Your hijab is not more important than my church robe
did the Christians suddenly realize the church robe is religious to them the moment they saw the Muslims putting on hijab?
the act exhibited by can is a show of inferiority complex.

They should wear it in private school founded by muslim or if the proprietor of such private school allows it but not in a public school. Nigeria is a secular state constitutionally

There's absolutely nothing wrong in doing that. Why are our people so divisive? Weren't we all friends who lived, grew up and ate together? Don't we all go to the same markets, clinics and universities?

WTF is wrong with you guys in that country?!!!
there are so many things wrong with that. He shouldn't have merged the schools in the first place. Is true we wine and dine together but when it comes to matters like these we just have to leave what belong to Ceasar to Ceasar. The school is a Christian school and so hijab shouldn't be allowed there. We all know it can never happen in a muslim school. Let's take private Universities in the country as an example, if a muslim is a student of a christian university then he or she knows he won't be able to practice his or religion there until when he is on break. Same goes for a christian that attends a muslim uni. When you get to Rome you behave like the Romans.

Aregbesola is a confused man with mental disorder.

I hate religious extremism, merging Missions Schools (Schools founded by Missionaries) with Government secular school, including boys only and girls only together is a grave error, that will be corrected one day.

The Osun State CAN is not against wearing Hijab, but putting it on in Mission schools like Baptist High School Iwo, Salvation Army school and other mission schools this they frowned against.

Hence, their resolve to implement their own fundamental human right of wearing choir robs, sultanas of different colours, etc. if the government of Osun cannot adopt a particular pattern of dressing in a secular state. This is quite unfortunate. embarassed

Religious time bomb in osun. so Mr "judge" if d military and other uniform organisations should start wearing hijab, you and your cohorts here will not condemn it? I think d word decorum still exist in d dictionary and you should check it.when this verdict starts to serve as a bad judicial precedence in this country I'll just be observing from a corner.
Thank you.

One of our problems in this country is that we allow our religious beliefs to destroy our reasoning faculty.
There is a reason some groups and organisations have UNIFORMS. Now, are there not Muslim women in the Nigerian Army, Air Force and Navy? Why are they not allowed to wear hijab? Or don't they have human rights? If the government of Osun State wants to do away with uniforms in their public schools, fine. But they must go about it the right way. There's a reason it's called UNIFORM. When some students wear hijab and others don't, then it's no longer uniform.

These are tactics incompetent leaders employ to divert attention from their incompetence.

I read some comments and wonder if you all understand this matter at all or you just want to be incredibly biased.

Some of the schools were Christian owned schools but merged or converted to general schools. Now, the Christians aint even shouting or kicking against that but to again allow the muslims be wearing their hijabs in a Christian owned school is uncalled for.

It's now a general school for both muslims and the Christians so, no particular set of people should be allowed to start wearing anything different from the approved uniform in the name of religion.

Hijab is not and is never part of the approved uniforms for the public schools in Nigeria. Please, before you oppose me make sure you get your fact right.

That was why the Lagos state dismissed the use of hijab in public schools. If you cant cope in a public school because of their uniform then go to a muslim owned school.

Nigerians should learn to abide by law and stop bringing religion into everything please.

It is always always muslim this, muslim that.

-NYSC orientation camp must not hold because it's fasting period

-The Nigerian naira does not longer contain the arabic inscriptions ETC

Aregbe is the cause of the problem. He should just have left the christian schools alone.

Just imagine a christian governor converting a muslim school to general school, you all know what will come out of it.

Was it 'hijab' that Awo's free Education was enshrined in and remembered for, back in time?

Sir, you are a beneficiary of that political endowment, from a Christian born old politician, who did not impose his faith on anyone. But sir, what legacy are you leaving behind now?

A man with the perfect model and such noble experience fails indeed if he can only disrupt a timeless model but cannot put a simple model in place. You have disrupted the simplest order of things.

Awo's political philosophy derived from Jesus' love for humanity, "life more abundant" (John10) and he practiced just that in action than on lips.

Think about this, Your Excellency.
Hmmm, stop been sentimental. I don't see a better nigeria wit all diz "yeye" ethnicity and religion palava. Nigerians should stop follow there clerics like sheep and understand the fact that religion is nothing but a way of life also that these religions are influenced by culture

The question is this " who built Baptist School?, Answer The Christian Faith. Who built Ansar Udeen, the Muslim Faith. Let Ceesar take what belongs to him. If they must study together then the dream of the founding fathers must be respected.Muslims for Hijab and Christians for Choir robe.If there is a traditionalist too, he should be permitted to come with Masquerade. Everybody is a stakeholder. The other alternative is to ban all religious attires and adopt a common non-religious clothing.Enough of this nonsense and imposition of personal interest on others.

we shouldn't bias. Christian should have wear uniformity garment. since before now beret was recommended for female in public school. meanwhile beret is Christian mode of dress. Muslim females students had been cheated over 3 decades singing Christian song in morning Assembly wearing beret or not covered at all.. I was there between 1988-1994 only on Friday was allowed to sing Islamic song... Christian show endeavors to use beret and Muslim should wear hijab appropriately. finished ( esin kofaja)
