pacretus:The word corruption doesn't mean stealing/ looting public funds alone. It encompasses many things that can cripple the growth of any nation if not managed properly. A very good example is custom seized the equipment that were to be used in setting up a factory worth billions because of some minor issues that can be ignored and decided to sell it to a senator/politicain for 80 million and the senator don't even have the support of manufacture of the equipment neither does he have full idea of the equipment he bought. Tell us how such a nation will grow by frustrating others who have the intention of starting something. Not to talk of those that change government policy just to satisfy a few that want to keep dominating the market. |

if you guys visit south Korea you will find corruption but the thing is their corruption is not self bleeding , its more like you take 1% you take 2% as commissions but get the work done within the prescribed norms and quality standards and within the budget. it not like free for all , they are very industrious and self disciplined and have a curious social and workplace hierarchy , nobody says or does things out of his place, very highly organized society in-spite of certain faults (1 or 2 actually which is surprising ) iblawi: |

Kenya Norinco VN4 armoured vehicles, nice acquisition, now reverse engineer it and upgrade/turn it in to a hardcore CT platform, and take your time doing it. want a similar if not better turret on Igirigi this is perfect anti terrorist weapon problem is it is french but why not copy the concept? unmanned turrets and vehicle engineering consultancy from Israel will do the trick. nemesis2u:What will happen in countries where politicians take 200% and the work will still not be done. I know corruption is everywhere, but if not handled properly it can seriously affect the growth of a nation. South Korea is where it is because they still get the work done and all the necessary infrastructure to make the people comfortable carrying out researches, opening factories etc are in place. So, the people find things easy to start up coupled with their educational level amongst others. The case is completely different in Africa. Their own level of corruption can double growth of many African nations if that is what we have here. My conclusion is that CORRUPTION IS THE PROBLEM OF AFRICA BECAUSE IT'S ON ANOTHER LEVEL HERE. Corruption is even a major contributor to high illiteracy level in Africa(by putting the wrong people in the right place) which is also a serious issue and no nation can outgrow it level of education. 4 Likes |

finally found the specs of zircon cruise missile Wicked. Not much reaction time at those approach speeds the radio horizon of any enemy ship would be somewhere between 40-50 km , so the missile will drop down to sea skimming level at 60km and turn on its own active seeker and this is when the enemy ships sensors might get tripped. but at 2.4 km/sec , it will need only 25 sec to reach the target at 60km. so from the first contact / alert the ship will have to perform evasive maneuver , launch decoys , and get the CIWS fire control to locate track and take shots at it. and you have only 25 seconds to do all the above and maybe more. darn!!!! but a successful CIWS hit might be useless because the missile does not have fore wings, which would have created downward thrust and led it to splash into the sea. so basically a damaged missile will still continue along the intended flight path to hit the target due to the immense KE/momentum generated by mach 7 speed in < 25 seconds. its like a 1 tonne ball of titanium slamming into the ship. i forgot to mention the 300kg warhead but on second though it does not matter now |

It's to carry nuclear warhead and BrahMos-II will be based on this design too with similar speed and design. God of mercy. Mach 7 with nuclear war head and you guys think NATO won't split soon. The smaller countries in NATO will soon break out just like UK broke out of EU out of fear. This will definitely replace kalibr missile and this kind of news gives US and NATO headache. 1 Like |

nemesis2u: 25 secs to hit US aircraft carriers and over 5000 people + 100 aircraft to sink in the middle of the ocean. This is surely bad news for US. Am sure US won't want a war with Russia currently. Instead they will prefer China. 1 Like |

chkil: Considering the distance intercontinental ballistic missiles will travel that speed is not scary. Now we are talking of just 300km at mach 7 with 300kg nuclear warhead. How many secs do you need to confirm you are under attack? and how many secs do you have to counter the attack? |

iblawi: actually trying to hit a CBG is a bit more complicated , the inner sanitation zone of a CBG extends upto 500km with the carrier as the center of radius. it might be even more if the CBG air assets are patrolling at the edges of the inner sanitation zone. so if the zircon cruise missile launch platform is detected and destroyed even before getting into firing range then zircon is useless. best chance to defeat CBG is to get a SSN to sneak past the defenses and launch the zircon from the optimal firing position right under the CBG noses, together with simultaneous salvo firing of zircon by a flight of SU34s in a quick snap up mode. or increase the range of zircon to 1000+ km to ensure the survivability of the launch platforms. 2 Likes |

chkil: yes true many sources say the same but my question is why did India conduct 50+ test-fires over a ten year period. and why it took 5+ years to get it inducted that too in 4-5 different blocks / variants? chkil: valid point but India has joined Missile Technology Control Regime (MTCR) so range restrictions no longer exists. still a mach 7 missile with 300 km range is no joke export versions will be 300 km ranged i wont mind having it in my inventory even with 300 km range |

chkil: do you want to know the internal physical difference between oniks and brahmos ? in the middle section of the oniks there are doughnut shaped fuel cells filled with liquid fuel to power the ramjet , brahmos also has the same but half of them are empty (for now). 1 Like |
