uzziii: Hello bro. No such criteria for a Permanent Residency Visa 189 or 190. However some states require POF before nomination is given under visa 190. I had a Nigerian degree but I also have an Australian bachelor's degree. Your Nigerian degree can be assessed as meeting up with Australian Qualifications framework. I scored 60points on skillselect. 1 Like |

KIKIADE: OMOGENG: In addition to the suggestion by OmogeNG for you to repeat the English test, you can go through REGIONAL Sponsorship, I think the subclass is 489. You'll get 10 points from that, but I learned its very difficult to get. |

ome240: Thanks for your reply. Please i want to find out if any person with only a nigerian 1st and may be 2nd degree has gotten a positive assessment. As my husband and i have only nigerian degrees in Architecture and most people in this forum that has got a positve assessment all have foreign degrees attached to their nigerian degree. Thanks for your response. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by ome240: 8:41am On Jul 13, 2016 |
uzziii: Hi Uzzi. On the contrary, I reckon most of the successful applicants in this forum got positive assessment using their 1st degrees from Nigeria, especially the Engineers. For architecture, am not aware. But I believe you'll get a positive response. Try it out Uzzi. You and hubby should write to the appropriate assessing authority. Send them an enquiry email and ask for their requirements. All d best |

Hello @Bellong and @Ome240 Just to be sure, from the statement below, does it mean that IELTS written in 2013 is still valid as it falls "within 3 years before invited to apply". Note: I have not been invited to apply.

Sirs, This thing is confusing, any attempt for me to rewrite the test make subclalss 190 useless. the subclass 190 needs 55 points, I ve 50 points already, if I go for the state nomination, I will get 5 points. if I rewrite the exam, the closest better result will give me 10 points then there will be no need to go for 190 visa! If 489 will give 10points and 190 will give 5 points and I have 50 points and the total points requirement for 190 is 55 points. author=catchdwind4rmkd post=47487380] In addition to the suggestion by OmogeNG for you to repeat the English test, you can go through REGIONAL Sponsorship, I think the subclass is 489. You'll get 10 points from that, but I learned its very difficult to get.
|

Sir, I am still not clear with your response, If I do the test again and get 10 points, it is not reasonable to go for subclass 190 again. i will rather opt for 189,making 190 useless. OmogeNG: |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Jetspeed: 12:08pm On Jul 13, 2016 |
KIKIADE: You can only go for 189 if your occupation is listed. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by catchdwind4rmkd(m): 12:35pm On Jul 13, 2016 |
KIKIADE: Ok, let me simplify; the total point needed for all subclass (189, 190 and 489) is 60 points minimum The difference is that for 189, you must have the required minimum 60 points from all other sources without needing state or regional sponsorship. While for 190, if you're not able to get 60 points from other sources but managed to get 55 points, you can make up by using the extra 5 points from state sponsorship to get the required minimum 60 points (ie 55 + 5). Similarly, if you're only able to get 50 points (as in your case) which doesn't meet the 60 points requirement, then you'll need the additional 10 points from Regional Nomination to get the required 60 points (i.e. 50 + 10). Please note, however, that 60 points is only a minimum and not the maximum point needed for the visa. Hence, it should be stressed that the higher your point, the better your chances of being invited to apply for the visa. As such, repeating the English test doesn't make any of the visa subclass "useless". It only increases your points, and consequently increases your chances. Best wishes. 2 Likes |

Thank You, Sir. Maximum Respect!!! The total point needed for all subclass (189, 190 and 489) is 60 points minimum. That is the point! I need 55 to apply for 190 sub class.

Has anyone applied for PTE in Nigeria recently? I've been trying it for 2days now but payment has been declined with 4 different cards. These cards are all being used for ATM withdrawals and online payments. My IELTS came out below my target of 8.0 across all bands: L 8.5 R 8.0 W 7.5 S 7.0 So, with the many feedback from test takers, I think I should switch sides, lol. Anyone who has successfully registered for the PTE recently should please advise on how to overcome my challenge. Cheers |
