Ur work experience is calculated after u complete the most recent educational qualification ur presenting. If u dont present ur Msc it will start as normal. So u have a choice to make, get the points from Msc and forfeit work experience points or get the points from work experience and forfeit the extra points the Msc will fetch u. KIKIADE: 1 Like |

doyen06 I'll try to answer as best as I can. People, pls correct me where I'm wrong. 1. Some states require u to apply to them first, then they nominate u if they want to. others like NSW require u only select them in ur EOI. so u need to visit their various sites to get this info based on ur case. 2. Dont know much about 489 but I'll advise u to avoid it as best u can. since ur occupation has a 70point benchmark, if u cant make it, stick to 190. 3. I dont know what u mean here but if ur asking if u theres a list showing people that have got state nominations then I suggest u browse thru immitracker. 4. Same as 2. In addition, once a state nominates u n u now have at least 60 points u should get invited cos 189 occupational ceilings dont affect u and so I guess the number of points u have should not matter anymore. |

KIKIADE: Here are my personal opinions........ TRA can't assess your MSc but you can still claim 25 points if you go through TRA way by having 10 points for your HND and 15 points for your work experience. You can go through EA by either Assessing your MSc (2014) and forfeit 13 years of work experience OR EA can issue you AQF 7 (you can mail them or download the EA guideline to find out the number of years) via Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). With this you might be lucky to claim 30 points and that's if you can put up a strong and convincing CDR. Here's TRA stand as regards recognition of skilled employment

KIKIADE: Oga, why are you particular about your MSc? Every work experience is assessed post last qualification. If you assess with EA because HND will not equal to AQF Bachelors, you will likely forfeit all those good years. As earlier advised by SUJYDEE, assess with TRA, better to forfeit 5points than 10points. At least you would't be restricted to tradies' job, you can work in any area you want as long as you can convince employer. What you need now is just to enter. From recent events, tradies application will be given priority because there's a decline in number of people in apprenticeship. So be fast about it and stop wasting time on whether MSc or HND. |

Thanks @ chuckdee13, I just want to be sure if leaving my EOI open to all state and regions is a good idea since I have about 4 states that can invite me but you said for example that nsw only invite people that select them. Please comment. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by chuckdee13(m): 1:14pm On Aug 02, 2016 |
Leaving it open for all states is 50 50...cos if u think about it u will want someone that really shows commitment to only u. My opinion,it can happen either way in the real case. doyen06: |

Hello House, I applied for assessment via EA (fast track). Today is the 10th working day and my status still reads "Queued for Assessment". Please how long does fast track normally take for those that have used this option? It says within 10 working days to get an assessor on their website. Thanx |

Has anybody sat for PTE-Academic in Pearson Ikeja recently?. I was asked to pay N50,000 for the exam voucher. Is that what they charge now? |

@ibiyemiara Thanx for the prompt response. 2 hours later!! wow!! Does that mean they had done the assessment and just didnt communicate it with you till you called? I would like to ask, did your status change at any time to "Assessment in Progress" before you called them or it remained as "Queued for Assessment? 1 Like |

I called around 5am Nigeria time and I was told my application will be given to an assessor that same day. Only to receive a positive assessment 2hrs later. It went straight from queued for assessment to outcome. It didn't change to assessment in progress. funkyjo: |

@bellong I just want to understand this properly. After choosing my occupation on SOL or CSOL,and paying to be assessed (in my case $445),I still have to pay thousand of dollars for visa again? (Family of 6) please I want to have an idea of the stages I will need to pay for anything. Thanks 1 Like |

Phemorinho: Yes. This is the sad truth. We have to pay over 1000k for assessment and another $8100 for visa application. It's not funny but it's the fact. Remember you need to set aside cash for passports and medical for each family member, ur English test and Flight tickets. Trust me we've taken it as a real time project but it's worth it afterall. God help us. |
