The fall of the Naira is not encouraging this immigration project at all Or are we the only ones feeling the heat? The more we try to safe, the more we have to spend. The cost of living keeps rising, tuition n fees comes knocking for the new session.. When it feels like we are getting close, the Naira just falls like a joke. cry.

I should probably buy some aud from bellong to safeguard the future.

Has anybody sat for PTE-Academic in Pearson Ikeja recently?. I was asked to pay N50,000 for the exam voucher.

Is that what they charge now?.

I paid 38k for my PTE. All others I saw was around 50k. But if you register with UKEAS and you intend to write with them it's 38k. They'll give you a voucher code.

Thx for the clarification

Hi Jetspeed!

Please note that Pearson Ikeja (Awolowo way) is different from UKEAS Ikeja (Opebi road). Pearson charges 50k, while UKEAS charges 45k.
Kindly Google both centres for more information.

Yes. This is the sad truth. We have to pay over 1000k for assessment and another $8100 for visa application. It's not funny but it's the fact.
Remember you need to set aside cash for passports and medical for each family member, ur English test and Flight tickets. Trust me we've taken it as a real time project but it's worth it afterall. God help us.

Boss, PR is far cheaper than schooling oh. You don't wanna compare both maybe you need to research on the cost of schooling to appreciate why people are taking this pathway. With, AUD5,000 you should conclude your PR (includes visa fee of 3600, English test of 330 and MSA of about 1025) for single applicant. You can't be guaranteed that you'll complete your studies with even AUD20,000 unless you're studying in Nigeria. Besides, why spend 2yrs studying with the main goal of migration, when you can migrate straight away? Don't forget that time is also money... Even for family applications that cost over AUD8,000 you still can't compare. Let's fire on men, we're on track. I learned Canada Express Entry is cheaper though.

Someone on the previous version of this thread, got assessed positively based on his Nigerian degree in Architecture. Loads of others have used their basic BSc to obtain a positive assessment.

That aside, not all Nigerian degrees are assessed positively. But i can almost guarantee that 5yr degrees from any uni, and 4yr degrees from Federal unis and a few state unis, qualify. E.g Someone from IMSU got a negative assessment, while someone from OAU got a positive assessment...both 4yr courses...same assessing body.

Thanks for this. Please is there a way you can link me to this architect that got a positive assessment?

Exactly my thought too. Burning 2 cool years sitting in class and at the tail end you still have to apply for PR.
All the best to all those expecting their invite.

Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by chuckdee13(m): 7:43am On Aug 05, 2016
work experience is counted from the date u completed ur study, so do the math. the work experience has to be related to the occupation ur nominated for it to be considered. go to www.anzscosearch.com and check the tasks of the 4 occupations u saw n see if they match ur present duties.

Jukeblam, hi. Please educate me on how u went about the medical examination with fatai Williams. What documents are required? Any booking ahead before going to d hospital? Any need to get there very early and get it done with, or are they fast In their process (i am considering our naija factor)? How much (husband, wife, daughter)?? Thanks a lot.
jukeblam:
Anyone with a similar case who included a baby dependent can help out here.

I just got a request from CO requesting for baby's "polio vaccination certificate"; baby is just over a year old, so has had the OPV taken during one of the routine immunization days.

Would a scan of the immunization records booklet suffice as a certificate? Or the certificate has to be from Fatayi-Williams Clinic too?
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Ibiyemiara: 3:13pm On Aug 05, 2016
You will have to call Fatai Williams to book a time. You will be told to go for Yellow fever and Oral Polio Vaccination at Port Health, MMA. You will then go with the certificate, international passport (original and photocopy of data page), passport photograph, referral letter with HAP ID and money. Fatai Williams will conduct medical examination and you will be referred to saint Nicolas hospital for x-ray on that day. Your results will be updated on the emedical by fatai Williams.
