Medicals are on Monday at Fatai Williams and they told us it's going to cost over 180k(they have increased prices they said).
Skill is external auditor with 70 points.

I paid 38k for my PTE. All others I saw was around 50k. But if you register with UKEAS and you intend to write with them it's 38k. They'll give you a voucher code.

Is it still same till now Chief!?
I wrote my PTE about 2 weeks ago. So I believe the price should still be the same. UKEAS is the cheapest. Though their vouchers get exhausted easily, I had to wait 3-4 days before they got new ones.

Dear house, please someone asked a question which I couldn't find the response. I want to use vetassess advisory service, will this reduce the turn around time for the main assessment? Or will it still take 4 months? Thanks a lot.

also, utcheylee please how long did UNIZIK take to send your transcript to VETASESS? Do you have a contact there that can help me fast track my transcript? Thanks.

Thanks a lot ibiyemiara
Ibiyemiara:
You will have to call Fatai Williams to book a time. You will be told to go for Yellow fever and Oral Polio Vaccination at Port Health, MMA. You will then go with the certificate, international passport (original and photocopy of data page), passport photograph, referral letter with HAP ID and money. Fatai Williams will conduct medical examination and you will be referred to saint Nicolas hospital for x-ray on that day. Your results will be updated on the emedical by fatai Williams.

I got a positive assessment from Engineers Australia for SOL 2334 - Electronics Engineer - skill level 1.
Although my degree is in electronics, I have been working in project management and research roles for
the last 4 years. I am not claiming any points for my work experience. Can I submit my application as such
and will there be any issues arising from this?

Please, I need to know if I stand a good chance. Thanks

Since you are not claiming work experience. You are 100℅ fine. You have the most important element for the application, positive assessment.

If you have written IELTS, fill out the EOI and wait for your ITA.

Thanks.

Do you mean i should go ahead to do my assessment with VETASESS and wait for the outcome(if positive or negative) without the work experience, am sure my point would not be up to 60 if i don't anything from work experience? My ielts test is slated for next week Saturday.

Pls, Gurus in the house. i honestly need your best advice before i apply to VETASSESS for assessment.

Here is my case on the possible outcome on point test

Diploma Result(2004) (Option 1)

Subclass489(regional)= 10
Age = 25
Dilpoma= 10
Experience = 15
SUM = (60point)

OR

B.sc (2014) (Option 2)
Subclass489(regional)= 10
Age = 25
B.sc = 15
Experience = 5
SUM (55points)

Kindly give your opinion on which option will be best for me. I've a long working history because i was schooling as part-time while working as full time. unfortunately i was told i can not claim enough point for my working experience since qualification date would be considered before calculating working experience.

Thanks guys.

Please, i will appreciate the whole house sincere advice.

@Nickoko

Why subclass 489. You have not added points from English proficiency which is 20 points maximum. With good scores in your English language test you can hit the subclass 189 threshold.

2014 till date is not upto 3 years so there's no way you can claim 5 points from that. I would advise, you go with option 1 - why not tell the house your course of study, the occupation you are planning to nominate and your field of work for the past 10 years because there are some occupations that require 2-3 years on the job training after your qualifications.

Am currently the administrative manager of a Big water producing company. I was employed in the said factory I February 20O4 as Quality Control officer immediately after my Diploma program but promoted to administrative manager in 2008 unfortunately I have already enrolled for a science courses in B. Yes. This is the sad truth. We have to pay over 1000k for assessment and another $8100 for visa application. It's not funny but it's the fact.
Remember you need to set aside cash for passports and medical for each family member, ur English test and Flight tickets. Trust me we've taken it as a real time project but it's worth it afterall. God help us.
bro are you sure about this I intend doing thus as an investment.

The bitter truth is that you can't use your Diploma to apply for the 4 occupations you mentioned; they are all skill level 1 occupations.

Secondly you might not be able to claim any work experience because going through the 4 occupations task descriptions - where you work......

VETESSA.... "na very hard nut to crack".

You can just apply for qualification assessment and that will still require some on the job experience (here you have to tailor your experience) for you to have a positive outcome or better still do the pre-assessment stuff first.

Here's a snapshot of the 4 occupations' requirements.
You can browse the anzcosearch.com, vetessa and mail vetessa to inquire one or two things.

My own 2 cents.......

To support what @Bellong has mentioned. It is highly advisable to assess both your educational qualification and relevant work experience for the following reasons.

1) If you plan to practice as an Engineer you have to belong to EA and your assessment will serve as the starting point for stage 1.
2) It validates your foreign degree that gives comfort to employers in Australia.
3) Assessing your relevant work experience makes it easier for Australian Immigration to process your application and hence makes it faster. 99.99% of the time, Australian Immigration accepts EA's number of years for work experience. This saves you the trouble of unnecessary work validation process during visa processing.

When I initially applied to EA for assessment, I applied under Washington Accord for my MSc from UK. EA told me that my MSc was not enough to be considered under Washington Accord since my BEng was not from the UK. I had to assess my BEng through CDR and use the MSc as continuing professional development. Therefore I had to re-apply under CDR + Relevant Work Experience Assessment. That going back and forth wasted some precious time and I feel I should share it with you to avoid it. I also advise you to use fast track option if you can afford the addtional AUD275. It is worth it - trust me.

Please note that when submitting your application to EA, you have to nominate an occupation that you will be assessed on since it is CDR. As long as you have a degree in Engineering, it usually does'nt matter what field of Engineering you nominated provided that you can prove to EA that you have relevant work experience in that field. In writing my CDR, I used my MSc thesis and the other two from the work I did in the profession I nominated. Use professional Engineer as @Bellong mentioned.

Good luck!

You said onr has to prove to EA that one has relevant work experience. What about my situation where i have just 2 6-months internships(during strike and siwes) together with project, Is it sufficient enough to be positively assessed?

In mine I didn't submit documentary evidence for one of my ITs, n it wasn't a problem. As for u needing the points from work experience I'll say u should then go for the industrial engineering since u have more than 4 years exp there. Just contact EA to be doubly sure cos I'm not so sure about it.
Hello, are you saying that in my case of 2 6-months internship and project, if I can successfully write a cdr from it nominating Electrical engineer. I am safe. I also did a bsc in ElectElect Engr. I am thinking of starting the cdr now while preparing for PTE at the same time. Am i safe if i decide to go like this?
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by Nickoko: 7:14pm On Aug 06, 2016
Thanks Mr. Sugydee

I really appreciate your candid advice and comments. I promise to take them in this order.

1. Completely forget about my diploma result.
2. I sent vetassess mail to inquiry about my chances but they refuse to respond.
3. I will apply for qualification assessment and use my 2004- 2007 (3years) as working experience since I was working as Quality Assurance Officer within the period.

Though Am not very optimistic about my chances with Skills migration but am blend on leaving Nigeria for Australia. I guess I have a chance in my ielts to improve my point test scores again I enrolled for the so difficult(as claimed by people) ielts academic instead on cheap general because I was thinking of going to Australia via study in Bsc Nursing before I stumbled into this Nairaland link the day before yesterday.

Once again thanks to Sugydeee and the gurus in the house.

Its just like I told u earlier, if what u studied is not related to the nominated occupation it wont fly. but if u have enough years of experience to make up for the absence of the core engineering courses related to the occupation it should fly. I dont know how many years of experience r required for this. I got this info from NNBB2012 cos I studied petroleum engineering but I've been working as a chemical engineer and wanted to nominate chemical engineering, he first asked me how many years of experience I have and when I told him he said I should rather nominate petroleum engineering and use ITs and projects to writ my CDR to avoid getting engineering technologist outcome by nominating chemical engineering.

In summary, if u want to do this cos of the points u hope to get from work experience, I'll really encourage u to gather the max points from english test and nominate an occupation with tasks closely related to ur first degree. Or u can explore the other option u said u have.
Hello pls, i will really like to speak with you personally. Did you get a positive assessment with just IT and projects? My mail is mctowel01@gmail.com. Pls can you reach me on it?
