What I do not understand is when you put your neck on the line for Coach Siasia, if you stopped putting your neck on the line before Suwon Tourney. Suwon Tourney was after the Egypt game.

Yeeee! Sorry Bros I didn't see this mention on time.

Well, Siasia was the only local coach I trusted will invite players based on merit prior to the AFCON qualifiers against Egypt but after his selection I no longer trust him and other local coaches that's all.

If not for the way Ekong has covered ndifreke's wing, we would have been in more trouble. Eager to go forward, struggles to get back.

Madu's crosses have been poor. Not gotten any across all day.

ndifreke is looking like a disaster. Ekong just got a yellow card on his behalf.

If you gave up on Coach Siasia before the Suwon Tourney, then there is no need wearing the heroic cloak as the one who believed in him.

This was a chance for Popoola to stake claim for a shirt. Nothing so far from him. Where were the driving runs he did against Brazil in the Friendly?

I'm trying hard to see what exactly Aminu has contributed to this game.

Nigeria concedes a penalty. Our goalkeeper lucky not to get a red card.

Hehehe! Trust and given up are two different things to me. However, I made it clear that I started supporting the team after my research on his selection. I made clear that that it was after I discovered that 90% of those players honoured his invitations, I changed my mind to support the team. I demonstrated that when I mistakenly listed 12 outfield players. You are my witness nau. grin

But my celebration was not for Siasia but for Sadiq Umar and Imoh Ezekiel. I believe you know why it is so. grin

Let us hope Etebo's injury is not serious. We clearly do not have cover on the bench. We need him for the second game.

This loss will give enough information to our coaches to work on the defence.

Our coaches and team players should try to resist the temptation of money and bonuses.

The whole world is watching. This is the Olympics. The guys should have a good rest. Refresh themselves and do some drills.

Priorities:
Defense drills,
Free Kick Drills,
Corner Kick Drills.

Another disastrous performance by Ndifreke Udo. worst player by a mile. After the Brazil friendly disaster, i am surprised, siasia still took him to the olympics. The man runs away from the ball. Ekong gets the ball and he does not offer himself as an option to pass to.

i hope Shehu is fit for the next match.

They played like a team with nothing at stake. Mikel was the only player trying to do something.

Etebor's injury initially looked like cramp, lets hope, it is not too serious.

Aminu Umar was very disappointing.

Makes you wonder how Udo beat Ekpolo to the list. With the defensive problems, you wonder how Osede did not make the camp. Seth would have covered Shehu while Osede fills the central defence.

The Columbia game is past. We have a tough quarter finals coming up. A parked stadium with Brazilians screaming their lungs off for a win.

Our boys have to let the defeat go. Unite in camp.

This was a good test. It showed the coaches where to work on.

Exactly, how is it possible that Ekpolo and osede were dropped for Ndifreke?

If not for that Suwon tournament, Siasia would not have made changes.

I think Siasia got carried away and did what he felt was for the good of the player and not the team. He was after personal glory for Etebo.

I agree. Pride crept in. There was no need chasing the loss. This was the best time to pull out his key players after we conceded the second goal.

He chose to chase the game.

I think Coach Siasia wanted to rest his team but the team lacks quality and he opted to play his key players.

What hurts is that, apart from the popular demand players like Success, S. Moses, Nacho, Iwobi etc, we still had players to provide quality, who were available like C. Nwakali, Obaje, Ifeanyi Matthew.

We just have to pray for Etebo. If he does not make it, we hope Usman can step up.

Both goals came from the midfield.

We lost the ball in the midfield for the first goal but there is no reason why Teo should be unmarked. We are talking of the best player of the Colombian side. A player who was at the last world Cup with a good Colombian side.

Seth was also slow recovering. If Seth was in the right position, he would have dealt better with that goal.

@bolded is very funny. Pretended! shocked grin

I stood behind Siasia thick and thin since is exploit with the U20, U23 and the National team(before Keshi).

I also stood behind Siasia throughout the qualifiers and the Africa U23 tournament. You can verify that by going through my earlier comments on this thread.

So, when and why did I withdraw my support?

It was when he became the interim coach of the Super Eagles and it was because his list was questionable. That's all.

So, i am not behind Siasia for now. I was only celebrating Sadiq Umar and Imoh Ezekiel. That's all.

Bros, my points are clear.

Deep in your heart, you believed Oasis007 referred to your stance before Coach Keshi became the coach of the Super Eagles.

So when safarigirl mentioned you putting your neck on the line, do you think she was talking about before Coach Keshi.

You already cleared it. You were not behind Coach Siasia before Suwon Tourney, that was before the Olympics. So, you never put your neck on the line.

I wanted that cleared because safarigirl was not on the thread that period to note that you were not in support of Coach Siasia before the Suwon Tourney.

There are some who called for Coach Siasia to retain his Super Eagles job after the qualifiers. You stood against it.

I have to step in and say that it isn't true. I was literally the only one supporting Siasia around here, I remember what happened then. SirGoodJoe was a passive supporter, he wanted to support him but wasn't all that receptive but you were nowhere to be found, except if you were supporting him in your backyard.

I went over the top with my support for Fynestboi doing the Mr Nairaland contest and earned myself a well deserved ban until August 13.
ok, I was wondering whos new ID this was was and was even thinking it was an imposter.
That's really too long of a ban!
I'm glad we are not facing Brazil in the quarter finals . I'd rather we battle them for Gold - if that is even feasible with the match ups.
