@Oga Bellong thanks for the prompt response oh may God really bless you. As a mechanical engineer as I told you before ,but I was employed as an NDT engineer with five years experience with company A and one year experience with company B, then 2 years and six months with company C which is the multinational .So the other time i asked if i could nominate mechanical engineering technician , which you reply that i should do. But after going tru the job descriptions and all the trainings i ve undergone these past few years of my experience , i came to a conclusion that it didn't really match. But it matches with Metallurgical or Materials Technician which are being assessed by vetasses . So please what i want you to advice me on is that though i did not study metallurgy or materials engineering but i have all my years of experience in NDT and i also ve lots of training and their certificates in NDT and other trainings related to the metallurgy or materials engineering technician .so please can you advice me to still go ahead with the mechanical engineering technician or I can go ahead to nominate metallurgy or materials engineering technician knowing fully well that i am a mechanical Engineer. I look forward to your kind response. thanks |

Good evening all gurus, I am a quantity surveyor with over 3 years working experience, graduated from OAU. I have not seen any quantity surveyor on this thread, any Qs that has passed through this stage please enlighten me. @Oga Udz Thanks for your quick response. Really I for apply directly as a MECH engineer and being assessed by EA. But unfortunately, na HND I get, because I see BSC. SO that's why I am trying the other alternatives. Any other advice I dey wait ohhhhhh. Thanks |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bellong: 4:09am On Sep 12, 2016 |
Tunatebabe: I am not an engineer, I do not know the detailed description of an NDT engineer but I do know that you can write your description relating to mechanical technician. You are better off assessed with EA as mechanical technician than with VETASSES. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by udz: 7:49am On Sep 12, 2016 |
Tunatebabe: no fear, make PTE ur wife. if u get 20points there, no shaking. ur HND go give u +ve assessment with EA as per technician or technologist Kia Kia. ur age and experience go butter ur application and u go get ur Kpali sharp sharp. But Abeg no forget to tithe me oo before u kawa. haha... |

@oga UDZ and Oga Bellong thanks ohhhhhh for your quick response. But please one more question and I no go disturb una again. As for mechanical engineering technician, they are being assessed by TRA and not EA. or una suggest I apply directly as a mechanical engineer thru EA? I and dey go accept my HND ? also my HND was from petroleum training Institute (PTI).or do you think my HND dey equivalent to their BSC ? Thanks once more you guys are great. Cheers |

@oga udz Please I also found out that , EA don't accept PTE English exams. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bellong: 10:26am On Sep 12, 2016 |
@Tunatebabe, NDT is non destructive testing right? All your options get as e be. VETASSESS assess NDT technician but it is sponsored by South Australia and Northern territory. Mechanical engineering draftsperson is assessed by EA and sponsored by Victoria and Tasmania. Mechanical engineering technician assessed by TRA and sponsored by Tasmania while it is on restricted in South Australia. So rule out mechanical engineering technician. I think it is appropriate you go for any of the first two. |

bellong Please help me with answers or help point me in the right direction. Thanks. I am interested in migrating to Australia and only just started asking questions. I am and i noticed that though is not on the SOL, it is on the CSOL. what are my chances with applying for a state sponsored visa? should i just start a masters degree instead? would applying for PR affect my chances of getting a student Visa if i apply for students visa while waiting for my PR to be processed/ materialize? is it advisable to use an agent or is it something i can figure out on my own? Thanks in advance to anyone who will be willign to give me some advice. |
Re: General Guide To Australian Permanent Resident Visa Through Skilled Migration. by bellong: 11:57am On Sep 12, 2016 |
@Soopamom, Starting a master's degree is a waste of money and resources. At least Northern territory sponsors the occupation. Read the pharmacy council website for assessment requirements. It is pretty straightforward. You don't need an, agent, you can do it yourself. If however you think you don't have time, you can consider agent. Migration agents charge between $3000 - $5000 depending on your circumstance and situation. Let me know if you need an agent. 1 Like |

Tunatebabe: also look at engineering technologist, it's on sol and csol, assessed by EA. ur HND and experience as NDT will fly here. As I said earlier use PTE to gather much points as ur HND will give u 10point unlike B.Sc that should give 15point. |

Bnimz:I had to go check their website, you're actually right, I didn't know and I did not read anything, I went to practicepte.com and practiced 2 exam scenario questions, good to know though, but the koko is my vetassess outcome, its not by PTE alone. Cheers. 1 Like |
