onespecial: THE SUFFERING MUST STOP! I detest the current configuration of the country. I want nothing ore than equity. You are a sensible person. Your points are clear and on point. You are using reason and tact in your statements. But most of the people who want to split use all kinds of hate speech towards others as if we all aren't black people. I can't understand how we can be this way. My beef isn't with anyone but the people who allow criminals to loot the commonwealth, allow people to kill our women, men and children under the guise of herding and any other poor forms of governance. All I want is justice. The last time they called for a shutdown of markets and people who didn't oblige had some of their stores attacked. A few days ago some touts were arrested for threatening traders who hadn't yet agreed to sit home. There is a growing group of people who say Biafra is their religion and Kanu is their savior. That is what bothers me. The cult like groupthink is what is so dangerous. noblezone: So what you are saying is that if someone doesn't support the "cause" the should be beaten if you had your way? I agree with you about colonialism. |

Ngozi123: I see what your saying but their intent isn't what you are explaining it to be. I've read articles where people are being harassed and forced to stay home. Traders who want to earn on those days are being told to stay home not for their safety but for a showing of "solidarity." I don't support the brazen shoot first ask questions later approach of the military either. Pprovost: We could never allow it to degenerate to such a level if for nothing else history is a great teacher. The fact we are talking about it right now shows it won't be allowed. carmag: You guys? I'M IGBO! You must not have seen my posts in the Biafran inventions thread a few weeks back. I support peaceful protests. I'm 100% against the physical force that has been used against my people. I just don't like the new wave of attacking any divergent thoughts on the subject. As soon as I disagree I'm disowned and told I'm no longer an Igbo man. What gives? |

proeast: Tantrum? Not even. I'm emphatic because I am continuously called out of my name. Imposter? Who has the time? Don't flatter yourself. Sacrifice is only worth something when done voluntarily. You can't force people to not earn involuntarily. That's not a sacrifice that's suffering. I support resource control 100%. Stop insinuating you are somehow more Igbo than the next an due to your support of IPOB. That's disrespectful in ways you couldn't imagine. carmag: Check my posts. So because I don't agree with this you can say I'm less Igbo. So all the politicians, businessmen, and other people who don't support the movement are no longer Igbo? What are we Nova Scotian? Eskimo? Slavic? vowsng: Seriously, when did we become this rude and lose all manner of decorum? You disgrace yourself when you spew such vitriol. Now to answer your questions. The 145 is reflective of economic downturn. I'm not happy with it and I voiced my displeasure with the increase. I've spoken about the herdsmen activity being illegal and needing to be stopped many times. Kanu had guns did he not? He requested guns to fight the gov't at the 2015 IWC did he not? Kanu transmitted his broadcasts illegally did he not? Kanu entered the country illegally did he not? He's done wrong will have to answer for it. If anything, if he is innocent he should be calling for an expedited case rather than bail. If he is clean his chi will see him through. Buhari's pr tea has been terrible. I've said this numerous times. He may personally mean well but his presentation is piss poor. He needs to return to whoever was advising hi during the campaign because he's doing too much wrong at present. I have no problems with peaceful demonstrations but forcing people to participate is my issue. Please refrain from calling me a coward. You don't know me nor my deeds. Trust me I've put in work. |

hamilton62: Am I Buhari? I must be Garba Shehu? Femi Adesina? I don't speak for that man. From my vantage point he misspoke with the 95% vs 5% statement. It was misquoted and blown out of proportion by the opposition who have shown they hate us more than the present gov't. He should have immediatley cleaned up that fauxpas because has been used to cause major dissent in the land. Tribalistic? I don't see it. From the standpoint of important ministries we have some important positions. The security forces are lacking but I'm not familiar with how the promotions work in that sector. He allocated funds for the 2nd Niger Bridge. He's building a railway in through the SS, SE & SW. Mind you this is during a time of thin resources. The Enugu-Onitsha Expressway is about to be redone and Zik's mausoleum is about to get a facelift. He even refused to play politics and sent the rail though Ekiti in spite of the of sitting gov's disrespect. Nepotism? I agree with you there. Some of the appointments have raised my eyebrows. I'm not asking you to lie nor "sweet talk" as you put it. Just keep things civil. We can discuss and come to a phase of operational unity. I don't expect us to agree on all matters but we can always show respect to each other. Ngozi123: Not a problem. Once again, I'm not saying there aren't people who don't want to join the protest. I'm not saying everyone involved is forcing others. But what I am saying is that there are too many people are are forcing and are being forced to participate. The very fact that people are being castigated for disagreeing is a major cause for concern. That's my issue. But below are some links to the articles I was mentioning. I can't seem find the article from a few months back when some priests had gotten caught up in a march and were mishandled. If I can find it I'll quote you. https://newtelegraphonline.com/police-arrest-12-ipob-members/ http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/12/biafra-ipob-massob-shut-down-markets-in-nnewi-aba-for-nnamdi-kanu/ http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/09/anxiety-enugu-following-Igbos-sit-home-threat-massob-declares-full-blown-war-fg/ |

LoveMachine: No offence, but none of the articles you posted support your argument. The first one refers to 12 IPOB members who were arrested for distributing pro-Biafra leaflets. The second is from almost a year ago, thus has nothing to do with the upcoming 'sit-in' protest. Finally, the last one actually contradicts your point; it actually quotes MASSOB as saying that the protest is entirely voluntary and that no one will be forced to participate in it. Read through them again and tell me what you think. 1 Like |

Timbuktou:For weeks in Sagamu, Ogun state, there's restriction of movement in some nights because of the rituals for their late King. No one is allowed to come outside after 8pm. If you do, you're on your own. Now tell me, how is this not force? Currently, you cannot cannot play music very loud in some parts of Sagamu cos it's forbidden, until after the burial of the king. Even in some parts of Lagos like Ikorodu, they perform rituals and restrict people, sometimes during the day. Hypocrisy of the South West is really disturbing. 1 Like |

Ngozi123: I figured you would say that. I didn't want to disrespect and cherry pick points without allowing you to read it for yourself. This was chosen to show the manner in which people are being nudged into obliging with the sit in. https://newtelegraphonline.com/police-arrest-12-ipob-members/ According to a release signed by the spokesman of the state Police Command, Ebere Amaraizu, a Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP) and made available to the media, the suspects were nabbed inside the popular Ogbete Market of Enugu State as they allegedly went into the market with public address system to threaten and inflict fears on the members of the public. This was chosen to show that he traders are not happy to be forced to shut their businesses down. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2015/12/biafra-ipob-massob-shut-down-markets-in-nnewi-aba-for-nnamdi-kanu/ Strict warning In Aba, Abia State, members of the group warned traders across markets not to open for business today. Vanguard gathered that IPOB members visited Ariaria International, Ngwa Road, Cemetery and Ekeoha markets with public address system announcing to the traders to shut their shops. A cross section of traders, who spoke to Vanguard, condemned the order and appealed to the IPOB members to allow the markets open. According to them: ”They should allow the markets open. Any trader, who wants to join the protest is free, but a total closure of the market will hurt us severely.” A trader, Mrs. Nwamaka Nnadi, who also faulted the ‘order,’ said the announcement warning traders to steer clear of the markets started on Sunday, as some pro Biafra agitators were observed in some areas, ‘spreading the message.’ This was chosen to show I'm not painting with a broad brush. I understand and commend the people who are voluntarily choosing to stay home. It is their blessed right to do so. I'm not saying all involved are miscreants but there exists a group within that has the ability to do some real harm. As I have said repeatedly it is the groupthink that worries me. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2016/09/anxiety-enugu-following-Igbos-sit-home-threat-massob-declares-full-blown-war-fg/ I hope my pleasure is coming across in my stateents. I'm truly delighted to be able to converse in a constructive manner. I'm learning so much in this thread. I may not all the way agree but I'm learning why you are doing what you are doing. LoveMachine: The first article is invalid, considering that the only source in it is from the Abia State Police Department. It's highly likely that they were arrested for distributing the leaflets and 'spreading the word' as Nigerian police officers are prone to lying. Again, look at the date of the second article. Going from the article, it seems that IPOB have learned from their mistakes in the past, hence the emphasis on the voluntary nature of the protest. You've already agreed with me about the last article so the less said about that one, the better . Like I said, I would be very surprised if there are no people, Igbo or otherwise, going about their daily business in the South-East tomorrow. 1 Like |

Ngozi123: How can you choose which articles are valid and invalid? What makes a source valid and another invalid? We have people in this very thread who have said they who personally physically abuse anyone who chooses to not stay home. C'mon now. There are clearly people who are being forced to stay home. Let's not play games. There are bad apples in this bunch. |
Re: Ipob’s Threat Forces Bishops To Flee Anambra by Ngozi123(f): 8:13pm On Sep 22, 2016 |
LoveMachine: I already explained it in my post. Do you take the Nigerian Police Force at their word? Please answer this question honestly. They didn't provide any quotes from the traders who were said to have been molested nor did they provide any quotes from the supposed onlookers. They didn't even provide an official quote from the policeman there at the scene. In my experience, when an article fails to show any quotes that support their story, it's usually balderdash. This is because they could be sued for saying that someone said something they didn't. It doesn't matter what people in this thread say. A lot of people say things on the internet that they would never do in real life; one can never know who is being honest or who is lying or exaggerating here. 1 Like |

Majority don't support the actions of the herdemen but your IPOB people that you support would act in such a way Bishops and innocent people will pay for what they know nothing about. Just think twice man, nobody supports the herdemen infact it will a lot of good in the IPOB attack them but that's not the case here. |
