Goldie10: 1. Wake up in the middle of the night and check... Dates seem to open up at that time. My sister, for instance, completed her application early Oct and was to have her interview on the 10th of November... On the 24th of October she just checked at about 1-2am and a 26th October was available. 2. If you're eligible you can apply for an expedited interview. All the best |

Goldie10:Your travel date is not cast in stone so what you Have is a personal desicion. I see no dilemma here. For a closer date, you monitor the dates at midnight to check if any dates opened up from cancellations. |

Greetings to you all. LadyG and other gurus I greet you. Please I want to know if I would have problem with the V.O, if I tell them what my company does. From what I have read here, I understand that V.O and this forum does not like AGENTS. The company where I work is a representative to foreign universities and I am the admission officer. Please I need advice from you if I should tell the embassy what my company does or not? Would that lead to refusal of my application? My family and I have applied for a family vacation to US. Thank you all. |

Good day House, I applied for visit visa in july this year but was denied under 214b, is it wise to apply for a study visa in jan next year? |

mzjennypher: Perfectly ok IF YOU CIRCUMSTANCES HAVE CHANGED. If you are applying without improving your ties to home then expect a rejection again. 2 Likes |

Adewillz:Yes all man for himself.. The visa fee is for each person separately but your dad can link you to his interview application profile but you have to pay the visa fee separately and fill the DS160 form separately. |

Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by seyewest(m): 4:05pm On Nov 07, 2016 |
ajokeayegbe:Have you filled the form? If yes you need not ask us because they will ask you where you work and what you do while filling the DS160 form and you will be interviewed based on what you filled. N.B What is so bad about what you do? |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by ajokeayegbe: 4:17pm On Nov 07, 2016 |
seyewest: Before now I don't see anything wrong with where I work. But since I have been following this thread, I have noticed that the thread doesn't encourage agents. And V.O too will not be happy to hear that a client used agent to apply. That's my fear, make the V.O no go look me come talk say na me be the agent wey them no want. Seriously I need make person convince me. I have filled my form but I never submit am. But have already booked for interview. What are my chances please? From experience Lady G and Seyewest wetin una tink abeg. How does the V.O view my profession? |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 4:47pm On Nov 07, 2016 |
ajokeayegbe: Ist, please when you ask a question, wait for answers. People have day jobs and you don't expect them to be at hand all the time. #chances. I Have said it before. I will say it again. Only God knows. I cannot predict. How does the VO view your job? Again. I do not know cos I'm not one. What I know however is that the use of agents is frowned upon when applicants use shady, unregistered quacks who falsify info /encourage misrepresentation. In the ds 160, space is created to indicate if one used an agent. The use of agents is not illegal. There are registered visa consultants (honest ones are rare from experience) and if one uses such it won't be held against him. That being said, the question now is, 'Is your job legal?', 'Are you registered and licensed to carry out the work you do?' . Or are you a quack, unregistered or unlicensed operative? The answer should guide you. I do not know the answers. I cannot tell you what you will say cos as usual my advice remains the same, do not misrepresent. Good luck |

@Lady G. Thank you very much. The company I work with is a registered limited company. We represent over 150 universities abroad. I will not misrepresent. Thank you |

ajokeayegbe: Kindly expatiate on the "Admission Officer" role of yours. Is that your place of employment a registered agency or something? Why are you sounding like a 'guilty conscience' kind of person na if I may ask too? |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by ajokeayegbe: 5:07pm On Nov 07, 2016 |
OmoBendel24: Is that your place of employment a registered agency? YES Expantiate on Admissions officer: My role is to advice students on the best school that offers the courses they want to study. I handle correspondence too. Make sure parents or guardians are informed about admissions intake and resumption time. When to pay tuition fee and how to go about it. Etc. Sounding like a guilty person?! All I don't know if I do. Having been following this thread, I understand how helpful it has been to me personally. However Agents have been discouraged here in all manner. That gives me worry about how my job is perceived by V.O, especially now that I want to apply for my family vacation. Lady G has given me some hope |

ajokeayegbe:There you go. A valid job that adds value. Consider explaining your job role this same way in the ds 160. Once again, good luck |

Adewillz: HAVE YOU GONE THROUGH THE US VISA APPLICATION WEBSITE? PLEASE GO THROUGH IT AND AT LEAST ATTEMPT TO START THE PROCESS. READ THE FAQs ON THE WEBSITE AND YOU WILL FIND MANY OF YOUR ANSWERS. THEN YOU CAN COME HERE TO ASK QUESTIONS WHEN YOU ARE STUCK. Haba! your questions are getting annoying and I think you have been indulged enough. 1 Like |
Re: USA Visit Visa Part 2 by LadyGuinivere: 7:01am On Nov 08, 2016 |
Adewillz:I assume all these questions hinge on the belief that your father's application has an impact on yours? It does NOT. You are an adult and if you don't have ties, you don't. As per linking applications I have no idea what that means. But serzly, do yourself a favour and read. All these questions are basic stuff contained on the website. 1 Like |

Good day, I want to say a big thank you to everyone that has contributed to this thread. Have read the post searching for where my intended question has been asked or answered. I have applied in the past when I was young and this has affected my recent family application. I want to come clean in my next year application. Will definitely fill all that in my application. My question is that: 1. Is it better I apply alone without my family or should I apply with them. 2. At what point do I mention it at the point of interview- I.e should I bring it up myself after exchanging pleasantries or should I wait for the VO to ask me. Not happy my family had 2 pay for my past. Thank you. |

Hi guys, I have an interview at the US embassy on 5th Dec. I'm going for tourism and do some shoppoing for my son's forthcoming birthday. I plan to travel 27th of Dec and be back on 7th of Jan because of my biz. I own a company and also married but my wife won't be able to go with me because of her job as she resumes few days into the new year. Now, my problem is, I have all the documents ready including statement of accounts of my company and personal, I have my company's certificate as well but I have never paid tax on it because the company is 17months old and the FIRS gives 18 months free on New company. I called the guys at the tax office and they said the tax payment will be in Jan. So how do i explain this to the vo that I have never paid tax on my company hence I don't have tax clearance Cert? Pls help guys and thanks. |
