Nigerian criminals collaborating with South-African criminals is nothing new. I don't get why you're surprised.
Most likely a LM-5 and not a R5

You can buy LM-5s and LM-4s of the internet, they are just civilian versions of the R5 and R4.....very very easy to come by!

I must have bunked biology class the day they taught that melanin content and the epidermis are determinants on how one thinks. What fucking genocide?

And why do you indulge this idiot and his nonsensical posts?

The pox on all the scavengers who've feasted on this beautiful place and its long-suffering people.

That's the first thing I often verify. There's a difference, the Galil has a shorter folding stock in comparison to the R5, that pirate was clearly holding an aged R5 (or at least a baldy maintained) .... I don't know if they'll air the program again (People and Power).

interesting pirates , most seem high on drugs and attached to jeju (black magic)

in india foreign/local oil companies have to employ local people where the rigs/plants are based especially in the low tier jobs. keeps everybody happy.
if u employ even 500 people from the local community indirectly it will create 1500 jobs to cater to the salaried 500 people

why they dont do the same here?

also if companies donate/loan out even 1 % of their monthly income to create local industries via self employment schemes then it creates tremendous goodwill , generates employment , encourages more people to become self made small entrepreneurs who will then employ more local people etc etc.

mid - large scale pisciculture ,shrimp farming, clam farming , poultry farming , animal rearing , coconut farming , tourism related resorts etc etc build and funded both by companies and self help groups can generate a lot of jobs .

this needs informal banking support for small scale industries supported both by government and oil companies etc.

local schools , health centers built via donations will go a long way to boost ties etc.

in india there are private health schemes were poor families pay 5 dollars every month , and incase they need to do expensive surgeries costing 10000 -100000 dollars , it is done for free . many companies donate to this kind of scheme.

must not make the same mistakes as Argentina. better to move to other sources of income gradually .
just my opinion and i hate al jazeera , its high time they start reporting on their own country qatar and middle east in general.

sorry for the off topic post.

It's a very funny video, the drama at the end, the antics the criminals were pulling before the reporter was classic.

I couldn't stop laughing at the invisible cloak/camouflage comment the reporter made before getting into the area of the interview. If he believes the antics of those criminals, then he is sure dumber than them.

Moving on, we had the pipeline contracts of the last administration, these contracts were designed to provide jobs and security for the locals in the area, however our present President, when he assumed power, unfortunately cancelled the contracts. This allowed criminals an excuse to go back to the creeks, however those contracts have been restored but the politics of the area have not allowed proper results to be felt.

However, Guy, the oil industry does not produce a lot of jobs, besides those criminals in that documentary cannot be employed, he wants a job when he didn't go to school, he most likely doesn't have a WAEC(high school) certificate, how is anybody going to employ him?

The Oil companies on their own, both local and foreign are all about profits, and making more profits. They have been complacent. Anyways both the Oil companies and Criminals deserve each other.

Don't fall for that crap!

Those criminals are not high on drugs or using any black magic. The Schnapps they are drinking, isn't a drug, it's your normal alcoholic drink you can get in stores.

The stuff they did on the reporter that you claim is juju is all antics, antics intended to dramatize the whole scene and scare the little old French reporter. It's all drama, including his all jumpiness. Those guys are common criminals hiding out in the creeks of Bayelsa, nothing else.

Oil accounts for 70% of Nigeria's government income, and only 15% of GDP. The government is actively pursuing diversification of wealth.

That been said, that report is one-sided, not completely accurate, they fail to take in the achievements the Navy and Air Force continue to make in the fight against Piracy and Oil theft. Achievements which i and other Nigerians post weekly in this thread.

There is no perfect country on earth, we in Nigeria are by no means near perfect either. However the truth is, although everybody is complacent, huge efforts have been made.

The drama in the report is all that it is, drama. The criminals were just making multiple bogus claims, the rifles they are carrying are not even Nigerian military issued rifles, contrary to the claims they made.
