justwise: True Justwise. I personally feel a child will be whatever a child will be irrespective of where he/she is born. I am not an American citizen neither am I from a wealthy home but I have been really really fortunate with a lot of great opportunities. However, it's great to give the child the opportunity to have a head start. Being an American (or Canadian) doesn't mean the child will be automatically successful... it just means your child will have things a little easier. For instance, the child will have an option of getting a job in either country and if the child is a high flier, having dual citizenship is a plus because it takes the stress of applying for visas away which can make the child a more attractive candidate for several opportunities. One of my American friends is struggling to see why we want our children to be Americans when she is tired of being American...haha. 5 Likes |

eribooboo: congratulations!!!, just wondering, i be jjc o.. have noticed that people just say use this better healthcare yarn as excuse, even when you/cbp/devil/everybody/baby in the womb/Your MAKER/ knows you are coming to birth for the citizenship, why not just state it, its legal naah. must be pretty annoying to the poe officials to be brazenly lying in thier face, n the lie isnt even necessary -- pls correct me if am wrong 6 Likes 1 Share |

davsquared: We are also doing them a favour jor. We pay cash for the birth, we spend a lot on shopping, tickets, accommodation, etc. And we still give them another American to tax. Just found out that as long as you are an American citizen, you have to pay tax once you start working regardless of the country of domicile. 5 Likes |

justwise: My darlings for me it is for the child to have alternative in life.I work in a sector were experts are highly rated even those with clear Nigeria origin eg I had a collegue that was paid £8000 because she is Nigeria/British (a lady)while her altern ie BTB was paid NGN500 000 (A guy) only Nigerian citizenship Another lady fresh from RSUST after service was employed to manage a branch of her company in Copenhagen because she is Nigeria/British. I can go on an on trust me So my people don't worry you will the benefits sooner than you think even if the child lives and school throughout in Nigeria the benefits can not be over emphasised. 8 Likes |

Re: Give Birth In USA: Cost And Procedures Part 5 by justwise(m): 10:56am On Nov 20, 2016 |
chibertha: I know that does happen but its not very common, in 15-20yrs time being an American or British may not carry a lot of advantage as its today. Studying in US as a citizen is not free, healthcare is not free and if you are working outside US you will still pay tax to US govt. You talked about traveling visa free to other countries but there are countries you will never want to identify yourself as an American or British infact you will be safer to travel with your Nigerian passport. Having an American passport is a plan B, yes i agree but that is one plan B i will not make a priority. I'm saying all these because i have seen how much people spend on this project and the stress they go through to achieve this, lets be honest here..its not always about good healthcare because you can get that elsewhere with your money. That said, i have nothing but respect for parents who are making every effort to make sure that their children have the best of both worlds years ahead. 17 Likes |
