The problem was that liberals don't really get angry until it's too late. We vote for what we think it best, but we also value compromise and unity (mostly). We don't really get pissed enough to get to the polls, merely only enough to protest and complain. We don't get angry enough about issues like gerrymandering, climate change, defunding of planned parenthood, or the lack of affordable healthcare.

We feel like our views are objectively correct and will be vindicated by history, so anything bad that happens is merely a setback for liberalism. That makes us smug and arrogant. Conservatives feel like their entire ideology is under attack and every election is about survival of conservatism. Conservatives get angry because they see all the problems of the US that affect them and they don't see liberals upset about things like healthcare and poverty.

They see us happy for progress and change, but they don't see us getting mad on their behalf and they don't see us hating the status quo. They rarely benefit from such progress and change, so they learn not to trust liberal positivity. Seems like liberals only get marginally angry enough to protest identity issues, since many of us have a hard time emphasizing with the rural poor. Liberals need to fight on their behalf too. We need anger at the broken system itself, not smug indifference or moral superiority. That's how you get the rural vote. Anger gets people to the polls, smugness gets us nowhere.

The above statistics is not a reflection of heaven on earth coming from the US of A. You should be embarrassed.
